Marra charges in, bringing a wicked strike down at Parns with her Falcata. The attack hits Parns heavily, partially absorbed by the armor, there's a slight sound of cracking, whether it was the armor or bone, you can't tell.

ATK:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
DMG:1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Marrala rushes toward Parns

Marra leaves Pavo and returns to Gaedren's corpse, dragging him to the dock. She looks at Calliope's razor, then fold it up and returns it to her belt. She stares down at the helpless Gaedren, then just pushes him into the water...consciously not mutilating him...she removes her mask and drops it in the water with Gaedren...

"Torture is not needed...Justice is done."

remembering a line from Acts of Iomedae "No longer lost, I am now reborn..."

She turns away from the water before it churns with blood as the Jigsaw takes a chunk out of the sinking Gaedren...

She returns to her companions, there is visibly less weight on her shoulders, the hate and anger gone from her face. She seems more at peace now.

Marra grabs Gaedren's leg and drags him out of the room.

As she sees Pavo, she lets go and runs over to him, and gently rests her hand on his shoulder...

"Sorry your sister is gone..."

"Can your family afford a donation to the church for them to return her?"

Marra leaps forward, viciously slashing the war razor across his face...

"That's for Sorin you slime,"

Then she whispers: to him:

Spoiler:
next I'll carve off your manhood and feed it to that ole jigsaw out there...

1d20+5=17, 1d4+3=4

Marra, not hearing Sorin's whisper, spins slamming her shield into the door, as it crashes open, Gaedren lunges at Marra, his dagger flashing toward her chest, the armor and protective magics pushing the blade away...

"You'll have to do better than that worm, I'm not a defenseless child anymore!" Marra spits. "May Iomedae intercept your soul before Pharasma sends you to your doom. For today you die, no more harm shall you do."

"You wronged Zelarra and each of us...Time to Pay..."

Gaedrenn laughs a little at this..."Ah yes, so pretty that one was, beautiful eyes, couldn't part with those, she's in here, with us, play a little hide in seek little Marra? Calliope had pretty eyes too, didn't she..."

Mechanics: Marra moved and opened the door (unlocked), since Gaedren was ready to attack.

Marra is torn, Help defend Clandru, or attack Gobbleguts...she decides to attack the Crocodile...

"Quickly priest, let's finish this beast before it can do more damage."

Marra takes a step toward the gator. Then lunges forward, drawing the razor down the croc's belly, slicing it open as the War Razor neatly separates the thick hide, Marra's strength pulling the razor through the flesh.

1d20+4=22, 1d4+3=6 confirm critical: 1d20+4=17, 1d4+3=7 Critical!!!
That should have been for Gaedren!!!

Marrala, seeing that Clandru has moved to help Dorran, quickly moves along the walkway toward Pavo, leaping over the corners of the walkway, placing herself next to the door where Gaedren is hiding. Calliope's War Razor in hand, a look of hate, she waits for Gaedren to appear at the door again...

Marra snaps out of her pitiful state, and momentarily forgets Lamm, her thoughts focused on Dorran.

"DORRAN!"

Initiative:1d20=9+2-2=9

Marra is visibly shaken, her bravado stolen from her by her tormentor. Tears well up in her eyes, as she steels herself for the confrontation, she slowly hefts her blade, as if the weight of the world lies in that blade, she begins thinking of Calliope, trying to get the nerve to do what must be done. Then marra looks at the falcata, and places it in its scabbard, and draws out Calliope's war razor, slowly opens it... "Calliope, you will be avenged." she mutters.

only shaken for 1 round DC was 12 (10+HD+WIS), result was 14.

Actions: Move 1:sheath falcata, Move 2: draw War Razor while not moving.

"Right, in we go!" Marra grabs the door handle and slams her shoulder into the door, forcing the slightly swollen door open.

"Also, I can drop some caltrops to prevent Gaedren from escaping through this door."

"Should we just open the door and charge in? Think he would trap this door?"

Marra sighs, "Perhaps your words are true, as I would never have returned had it not been for Lamm's murder of Calliope...I would have run away, far away, finally free of that foul beast."

Clandru KRUPTER wrote:

I believe I have been climbing down now for a long long time ....

As usual you are speaking of yourself , I'm speaking on behalf of all the parents , brothers , sisters , lovers of those Gaedren has killed .

Marra visibly reddens at Clandru's words."You are a fool priest, yes I do it for myself; to avenge Calliope, and my brothers and sisters, those what suffered under Gaedren's ministrations. Those children above, Sorin and Dorran, we lived a hell you can't begin to imagine. Don't even begin to judge me."

He is the main reason such thing as civilization exist but now is not the time to discuss this

As for Gaedren , I don' care where his soul go . I just want ALL the people he wronged to know he has met his just desserts .

Clandru will move cautiously toward the door (moving at half speed there )

Flashback (Before Marra descended the rope):

"That's just what I intend to deliver...just desserts...justice...I believe we have an accord."

grinning grimly "Don't worry priest, I'm sure his soul is going to a gooood place...nice n warm."

"I heard Iomedae likes those who bring justice to the world, what good does your god do?"

"The gods are on my side t'day priest, I think I'll not be falling before I get my vengeance..."

As she says that, she grabs the grapple and rope hanging from her pack and begins to rig up a safety line...

As Marra leaps over the banister, the groggy children make startled yelps as she lands with a thud and tumbles next to Clandru.

"Heya priest, Sorin was sliced open something fierce upstairs...Hookshanks cut his chest with a wicked kurki, he could prolly use some of your tender ministrations when we're done, any sign o' that slime, Gaedren?"

Whispers to Sorin

Spoiler:

"He's all yours Sorin...and there's no nosy priest around, let justice be done..."

Marra rushes out of the room, having heard Clandru's call...when she reaches the banister, she leaps over the edge...

Acrobatics to take no dmg from a purposeful leap off the banister. 1d20+2=17

OK we have everyone except a DM, I will take over on Thursday, that's when we hit 2 weeks.

Since Malv has seemed to disappear for 11 days now, I'll be taking over the game this weekend is he doesn't return...

Pavo, Clandru?

I figured as much, games don't last very long after a DM disappears, luckily this game is from an AP so it's pretty easy to pick up....and I personally think it's a great group we put together, lots of personality here, would hate to see this one dissolve.

This has got to be one of my favorite characters of all time...so I WON't Let this game completely die...

BTW, do we still have everyone watching the thread? Haven't seen Pavo post in a week or so...when it hits 2 weeks no DM, I'll take over. So let me get a head count.

I'll spend a Harrow point to bring the DM back.

If he doesn't come back in the next week I might be able to pick it up, Since the High Level Play-Test that I was DMing just finished...

I checked yesterday, there haven't been any posts from any of his avatars...so we'll have to see what happens...we get to play the waiting game...

Homer: "The waiting game SUCKS! let's play Hungry Hungry Hippos!"

Well all Pavo will be able to do is move to the door, and open it...

So where's Malv?

Rolls
** spoiler omitted **

I'll avenge you foolhardy cleric...and I believe it was Pavo who ran upstairs...not Dorran.

As I didn't notice the updated map, I'm going to have to amend my action...

keep the same rolls. "Sorin!, you'll not fall this day...Hookshanks..die!"

with that she attacks Hookshanks, bringing the heavy blade down upon Hookshanks.

my apologies for the misstep.

Marra will charge the wand holder. Leveling her blade at his neck.

Marra will 5' step into the doorway of the room, and swinging her Falcata about her in a Dazzling Display..."You should have killed me instead of Calliope" 1d20+3=23

with pure hatred showing on her broken face..."Now you will pay the price, and Gaedren Lamm will fall this day!" The words spat out with pure disgust...

Marra's revenge won't be put off...where you at mal? been a week...

Looks back at Dorran and nods, though she reflexively pulls away from his touch, and looks ashamed for a mere second, before returning to the full ready.

"Got your back Sorin" Marra whispers...

I'll stay 20 feet back from Sorin, ready to charge past him.

a hatch? where? I don't see it on the map...just the 3 pools.

Marra, not one to be intimidated after all she's been through returns Dorran's stare with a steely gaze of her own.

IN a Loud Whisper..."Dorran what in Calistria's name are you doing, we're at war!, Be Ready!!"

Round 2

Sorin watches as Marra charges the half-orc and then he turns and runs down towards the other flight of stairs. He gets halfway up the stairs and then launches an arrow across the room at the giggling half-orc. The arrow lodges right in the strange half-orc's neck, ending his giggling abruptly. The half-orc pitches forward, dying, right onto Marra as he collapses on the stairs. END COMBAT

With the current threats ended, the room resonates with the whimpers and crying of frightened children.

What now?

Marra slides against the wall as the half-orc falls, letting his corpse slide down the stairs, then she kicks him over the edge.

Is this one of the lieutenants that was here when any of us were?, just let me know if I recognize anyone from 2 or more years before.

"Quiet those kids up..."

Then Marra slides up to the door, ready for any additional combatants coming through...she'll peer through if it's still open.

Sorin wrote:
The map is out of date. there was a misunderstanding and Marra is next to the orc not a space away so depending on your init he might get there first.

Since that was my round 1 action, he'd have to shoot him...please, before he can attack me ;) Half-Orcs tend to hurt.

GM Malvoisin wrote:

Okay, I did not remember that. I just checked her character sheet, where it still says she has Medium encumbrance. I'm not going to make a new map now, but suffice to say that Marra is one square closer to the half-orc, and that she was able to attack him, as follows...

With a final lunge, Marra's momentum carries her further up the stairs, and she slashes wickedly at the half-orc before he can react. The young woman's falcata slices through armor and flesh alike, leaving the leering foe bleeding badly, but still standing. 11 damage

No prob, I figured that is what happened, also, unless I'm caught completely unaware, her battle reflex is to drop her backpack in round 1...and hopefully it won't get fireballed...that is if I have my full pack with me, which I don't currently...(I need 2000gp to get a haversack ;)

Marra was not encumbered, as I stated she left some stuff in her room, therefor she should be able to reach the Half-orc on that charge.

On the first page...

"A harrow card..." she muttered, having had harrowings in the past, she remembered a dog-eared harrow deck from her younger years as well, playing cards, pretending to do harrow readings, strange that she got this card, for she didn't recognize this card...it was missing from the deck they had.

Others who have been wronged, Marra thought, grim determination rolled over her, perhaps, just perhaps, with these others, she would be able to exact her long planned vengeance, everything in her life revolved around that slime, from her earliest memories she knew nothing else, those few memories she had before Lamm had fled, only the memory of her mother remained...no name just the eyes...

she ran the whetstone over her falcata and Calliope's war razor one more time before gathering her stuff to leave... to get some breakfast.

I don't think I'll need my blanket or bedroll today...so I'll leave them here...that way they won't hinder me should combat break-out.

Marra wipes a tear that had welled up and prepared for this, she hoped it wasn't a trap that Gaedren was setting up, but if it were she'd be ready for that even. She had tried to kill him last year as he made a trip outside his hideaway...if that damn gnome hadn't been there to help him after the dart missed, she could have tried another angle...but again she'd had to tuck tail and run...had he found her? No, if that had been the case, I would not have seen the morning's light...

Marra rehides the coins in her bedroll and blanket in the room. She looks around the room one last time...and departs; heading for breakfast...after breakfast in the common room, she wanders around town, if it were a trap, and she was to die today, she might as well enjoy the day before the sun set.

2 hours before sunset she will set-up to observe the entrance from a distance at first.

...she hasn't retrieved those items, yet...

"I should have known better, stupid mutt"

The dog causes Marra pause, she knows this mutt, she remembers it as a pup...and now it lays between her and Gaedren...two years, and it's near-sighted in its old age...won't recognize me, I'm sure...
1d20+2=5

Marra draws her blade and charges the animal (or adult opponent if the dog is already dead).

1d20+5=15+2 charge=17 DMG=1d8+3=11

"No quarter asked, none given!"

I would say the farther away door, the single door, on the narrower part of the walkway...Sorin will have to try to pick the lock.

Also is this building kind of dilapidated, so we might be able to peer through the separated boards?

"Agreed"

"Examine the door, be prepared to fight as soon as that door opens. Try to not injure the children..."

I play it that if the party has readied actions, such and the ranger having his bow drawn, then they get those readied actions prior to the initiative. We had already encountered one spider, and at least I was expecting more...

Marra cleans the ichor off of her blade, "Too bad we couldn't have thrown Gaedren down here"

looks like you're using the 3.5 poison rules instead of the PFRPG poison rules. (pg 392 PFRPG Beta) since Sorin took 2 points of strength dmg instead of 1.

robin wrote:

Marrala , I`ve got no problem with the way our roleplaying clash but I`m a bit surprised at your alignment there .

No offense but you don``t sound like a LN there but more like Dirty Harry .

She'll chill out once Gaedren is dead...right now, the LN is based on justice...and in her eyes there's only one way to instill justice. She is Judge jury and executioner as far as he's concerned...as per the alignment interpretation in the PFRPG...not strictly "LAW" as an edict...it can be a personal code as well...

Sorin wrote:
Everyone should check out the discussion thread for details on the combat plan.

I don't usually check discussion threads since running or playing in 9 PbP. So I'll head over there...

since we were readied, don't we get attacks before the initiative order begins?

Marra quickly looses the stone she had prepared, at the first sign of vermin. 1d20+3=15 1d4+3=7

"Why are we going in the Barge?"

Marra whispers in a hissing raspy voice...

"Lamm is in the Fishery not the barge!"

Marra remains on the alert for additional vermin...

On Marra's turn, she'll pull her sling, and load it, then if the spider is still alive, sling it...if not, she'll be ready to sling another if it appears...
