Ah, oh, sorry. Got mixed with Haste and thought it was party-wide somehow. Bear with me.

MArkus patiently walks to the creature and starts his series of attacks, in the hopes that it will be distracted and let the blasters do their job.

Markus's Turn:

Swift: Smite Evil.
Before Full Attack: Fleet Warrior (Full movement)
Full Attack (assuming no flanking because Swarm)

Scimitar #1, Mythic Power Attack, Smite, Haste, Prayer 1d20 + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 31
Damage #1, Mythic Power Attack, Smite, Prayer, Holy 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + (4, 2) = 34

Scimitar #2, Mythic Power Attack, Smite, Haste, Prayer 1d20 + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 30
Damage #2, Mythic Power Attack, Smite, Prayer, Holy 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + (2, 3) = 35

Scimitar #3 (haste), Mythic Power Attack, Smite, Haste, Prayer 1d20 + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 = 44
Damage #3, Mythic Power Attack, Smite, Prayer, Holy 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + 2d6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 9 + 9 + 1 + (1, 1) = 32

#3 Critical confirmation, Critical Focus 1d20 + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 18 - 0 + 4 + 1 + 1 + 4 = 41
Potential Extra Damage (Power Attack is doubled) 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 18 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 9 + 18 + 9 + 1 = 46

Not spending more MP for extra attacks, since I don't know if I'm really doing something (Holy should ignore DR, at least. Also, just realised it's probably not subject to crits.

Calculations with Mythic Haste and Prayer. I see Tayanalla has Mythic Heroism listed, but can't find when it was cast. Also assuming Mythic Hero's Feast is over.

Markus is waiting to see what effect do the Flame Strikes and the Dispel have on the poisonous cloud before engaging.

Markus advances, but carefully, not sure what to expect.

Will walk forward 30 ft and use Divine Bond to turn his scimitar into Holy. Also, if there's a knowledge he can roll: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Nothing to prepare.

Let's go with that, then? Divines memorize whatever they have and arcanes do with magic missiles or the like? Sadly I'm a fake divine, but count me in for absorbing attacks or healing.

If resting won't help, I don't see how coming later would...

To my knowledge, we could rest for an hour and spend a MP and this would count as full resting for spell's sake. So it would take us 2 hours only. Do you want to do that (at least those who can - Palas don't get to blast much).

"So, does anyone have damaging spells?" Markus asks. "Because if we can't hurt it, we might as well go rest and prepare new spells tomorrow."

Markus looks at his scimitar and shrugs. "Okay, so be it then..."

Given that Nils's last sentence made the archons' answer useless, Markus quickly rethinks and follows Thokk's advice, weighing it as the best possible answer.

"What should be our tactical to defeat the beast?"

After hearing what the celestial beings have to answer, Markus bows deeply. "Thank you. Now, my companions and me would like to move on to the fight - other groups might be ahead of us already."

Markus keeps himself quiet. He must ask something valuable or the boon will go to waste. After some seconds thinking about it, he finally speaks.

"Would you give me a minute, please?"

Then he turns to Tam and Thokk and speaks again.

"Okay, I was going to ask about the guardian's best attacks. Do you have a better and more tactical idea of a question? It is our last one."

If they agree, Markus will ask that, something the likes of "What is the Guardian's most perilous way of harming us?"

"Alright, so I guess we have to fight for the orb, right? Any special rules we should know about?"

Btw, I guess the hero's feast effect is over?

Markus enters the room and directs some words to the angelic beigns.

"Salutations. I am Markus, humble servant of Iomedae. Are you the guardians of the next Orb?"

He takes some time to carefully observe their reactions.

"ah yeah, you're right. Let me check this..."

Markus carefully inspects the door ins earch for anything that might trigger a trap.

Perception, locate traps: 1d20 + 14 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 14 + 4 = 34

"Uh, guys... I think we should go in here." Markus points at the door. "We might find something interesting." He tries to open the doors while the rest arrive - if they do.

Markus stops just in front of the double doors and searches for some inscription is picture indicating what do the doors keep.

No problem. The fact that you've entered to warn us makes me confidence enough.

Markus feels strange about the resting. "Uh... does anyone know how much time we've been resting?" he asks, while checking if he still feels the same as when he was under the Hero's Feast.

"I don't know about you, guys, but there are some special things I can do a limited amount of times, since they drain my power. I feel... a bit exhausted, so if we have another fight like this one, I won't be able to put the same effort I did here."

Plus, don't we have some blind men?

Markus is growing a bit worried that the team might have exhausted many resources in the fight, though he says nothing. He watches Tam accept the sphere and study it, and patiently waits for the wizard to reveal whatever he discovers.

Markus wakes up and, for a second, doesn't remember where he is. "Quick, everybody out of here!"

Then he realises, and hastely turns his head left and right to asses the situation, while gracely getting on his feet even despite his heavy armour. When he sees the guardian kissing the ground, he slightly smiles. "Good job, guys. Is it dead?"

While waiting for a response, he channels his own energies into a healing prayer.

LoH on self 4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 1) = 11

Unconscious at -26 (8 away from death), though I still have to count in Nils' Breath of Life.

Fort Save DC 26: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26

Markus suffers the strike and grinds his teeth, trying not to be overwhelmed by the strength and the magic effects of the blow.

Trying to recover himself, he still presses on though.

Since he's been hit (I hope), he loses his AoOs for one round.

Craftfully waiting until one of his companions engages the creature, Markus enters the game after Thokk charges and distracts their enemy. "Aha!"

Markus' Turn:

Move Action to approach the creature and flank (lots of movement due to Impossible Speed and Mythic Haste).

Full Attack due to Mythic Haste and/or Fleet Warrior

Scimitar Attack #1, Mythic Power Attack, Mythic Feast of Heroes, Mythic Haste, Flanking, Divine Bond, Sneak Attack 1d20 + 18 - 0 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 18 - 0 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 28

Superb rolls, madafakas... :/

MArkus, as usual, is waiting for any other to approach the creature, and thus profit for his ability to flank the enemy.

Basically, retaining the action till someone else is in melee to get Sneak Attack :)

"Caution!"MArkus shouts, stopping dead in his tracks. "It's got a Symbol of Death on its chest, don't read it!"

Anything we can do to avoid reading it, or just declaring we're not looking will suffice?

Now that you mention it...

But say it in game! :P

Markus doesn't have the means to cross the pit and, for what he's seen so far, neither do his companions, so he decides he's going to whistle a tune to try to focus his mind. He's already noticed his hand starting to shake a bit and the general sensation is that ground and ceiling are closer together now, opressing him and not letting him breath properly.

"So" tries to settle Markus, "we will wait for you here, as you say. But just so we know it in advance... Every time we deliver you some damage and spend our resources you'll be fleeing to the other side of the pit and regenerate?"

Meanwhile...

CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

2 charges should suffice, thank you. Now someone should do something about that poor blind dino...

Markus, while waiting for the creature's reply, walks to the edge of the pit and concentrates on his scimitar for a pair of seconds, then talks again in the hopes of getting a response.

"So we are supposed to challenge you. Is the challenge not a combat? Or are you supposed to stay behind a pit we cannot pass? What kind of challenge is this?"

Using Divine Bond to give the scimitar a +2 bonus, will look for interesting properties when I get back from work.

"So, how do we get this 'Thought Sphere of Order' of yours?"

MArkus will once again wait to see what the rest do. He knows he's useless without a flanking buddy anyways.

Due to the Slow Reactions Rogue Talent, the Waykeeper can't make AoO for 1 round, unless otherwise ruled by the GM.

Markus is a bit surprised that someone can endure such a punishment, but there is no tiem to complain over it. Keeping his spot where he can land his scimitar with precision, he discharges blow after blow on him.

Full-Attack:

Markus will spend a Mythic Point to use his Sudden Attack feature again.

Scimitar Attack #1, Hero's Feast, Flank, Haste, Power Attack 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 41
Damage: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (3, 2, 2, 3, 1) = 34

Scimitar Attack #2, Hero's Feast, Flank, Haste, Power Attack 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (5, 5, 2, 2, 2) = 37

Hasted Scimitar Attack, Hero's Feast, Flank, Haste, Power Attack 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 40
Damage: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (3, 6, 3, 4, 5) = 43

Sudden Attack, Hero's Feast, Flank, Haste, Mythic Tier, Power Attack 2d20 ⇒ (8, 2) = 10 => 8+18+2+1+1+3=33
Damage: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (2, 2, 3, 6, 4) = 41 No DR

Critical Confirmations:

For Scimitar Attack #1 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 24
For extra 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 = 37 damage.

For Hasted Scimitar Attack 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 24
For extra 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 = 39 damage.

Again remember that anyone hit by the Sneak Attack won't be able to AoO for 1 round.

Since I stated I was acting last, I'm posting the extra Haste attack now.

Scimitar #3, Flanking, Power Attack, Hero's Feast, Haste: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 39
Damage, SA: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (4, 1, 3, 2, 3) = 35

Confirmation: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 18 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 36 for an extra 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 = 38 damage.

Markus waits, in case his companions want to cast area spells. Then he walks steadily to join the fray, but instead of charging blindly he maneuvers to get behind the Waykeeper and thus present a more serious threat. He uses his scimitar swiftly, discharging three blows before adopting a defensive stance with his shield.

Markus' Turn:
Will delay to the last of the round, since he doesn't cast spells and his friends might want to cast some buffs/debuffs or AoE. Will post my turn anyways for posting speed and modify it later accordingly.

Fleet Warrior: Allows movement before or after a full attack. Walk 60' and position behind the enemy to get flanking. If 60' is not enoough, another 30' could be gained by spending Mythic Power.

Full Attack with scimitar, spending 1 MP to ignore penalties of Mythic Power Attack for 1 minute.

Swift Action: Spend 1 MP to activate Sudden Attack (extra attack rolling 2 dice and ignoring DR, +tier to hit).[ooc]

Scimitar #1, Flanking, Power Attack, Hero's Feast: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 39 And will spend a Legendary Item use to surge for an extra 1d8 ⇒ 3
Damage, SA: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (1, 1, 4, 5, 1) = 31

Scimitar #2, Flanking, Power Attack, Hero's Feast: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 25
Damage, SA: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (2, 2, 1, 5, 1) = 34

Sudden Attack, Flanking, Power Attack, Hero's Feast: 2d20 ⇒ (11, 17) = 28 -> 17+18+2+3+1=41 And will spend a Legendary Item use to surge for an extra 1d8 ⇒ 5
Damage, SA: 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 1 + 5d6 ⇒ (6) + 8 + 9 + 1 + (5, 3, 5, 2, 6) = 45 No DR

Confirmation (ignore if need be):
Conf Scimitar #1: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 18 + 2 + 1 = 24 for an extra 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 = 41 damage.

Conf Sudden Attack: 1d20 + 18 + 2 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 18 + 2 + 3 + 1 = 34 for an extra 1d6 + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 9 + 18 + 1 = 39 damage (not sure if rolling 2d20 applies to the confirmation roll as well).

Note: extra +18 dmg on crits is because Power Attack doubles its bonus on crits, so a +9 would turn into a +18 before doubling.

[ooc]So, if a 46 is not enough to hit, I'm raising my hands and giving up :P

"Thank you" reacts Markus to Tayanalla's touch. He still feels cold, but it relieves him and makes it a bit more bearable, if only because someone managed to care.

Markus takes advantage of the time given to use another of his prayers.

LoH again 4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 2) = 14

Alright. Also, I forgot that we have 29 temporary hit points thanks to Mythic Hero's Feast (which gives also a +1 to saves), so these temp hp I'll deduct as well from the total.

Super nice, I'm down to 15 hp (unless Nils spell comes before any of the damage, you tell us) thanks to my superb Will rolls. When able to, I'm going to spend some LoH.

Markus slowly starts to move, completely wet and trembling. "Th... the c-cold.. it's... n-nu... numbing...".

With a bit of time, he manages to stand up. He then looks around and check they're still not engaged. Slowly and with difficulty, he summons the power of Iomedae to heal him while the rest of his companions or the strange creature there speak.

Going to spend 1 LoH for now, you tell me when can I spend more, please.

LoH: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5, 4) = 19

Markus will try to surge the paralyzing save: 1d6 ⇒ 2 He doesn't have any means of protecting against cold.

The infinite void and a terrible sensation of emptiness is the only thing that acompanies the cold. Trying to focus on himself, he casts a protective spell, though the endless space makes it very difficult to concentrate.

In case the save didn't pass, he will try to cast Remove Paralysis, though I'm not sure if it will work since he's paralyzed himself. If that doesn't work and no other save is allowed, I guess that's it.

So, do I come out of the darkness?

While Thokk tries with a protection, Markus describes fully to the others what's inside. "Nothing can be seen or heard, and a very sharp cold stuns your limbs to the point of being... injuring. I don't think we're supposed to fight there."

I know, I know, but I thought it would quicken things a bit, since I already said I was following him. Not that I tried to cheat or anything (actually, I could have said nothing and avoid taking any damage at all). But yeah, sorry, I was so hyped.

Markus sees how Thokk disappears into the darkness, looks at the others and decides to join him.

Shall I take the same first round damage as him? I'll be coming out though after suffering the cold and try to alert the rest.

Markus produces his Ioun Torch and follows Thokk into the tunnel.
