Sounds great, to both GM and Uwe. Hopefully, it's very easy to roll your downtime using my sheet I posted in discussion a few posts back, as I am doing. Pro tip: It's better to never take 10 when generating gp. However when generating capital like goods, magic, etc., it's better to take 10 when your bonus has a 4 or less in the one's place and better not to take 10 when you have a 5 or more on the one's place. This is due to the rounding down that occurs for generating capital.
Xerxes the eidolon spends his time using stealth to snoop around and see which suppliers or raw crafting goods are most willing to give discounts. Then Mara goes to butter them up with diplomacy. Mara generates 23 goods for 230 gp in cost while Xerxes generates 30 goods for 300 gp in cost. I'll update the tracker spreadsheet with what we've got soon. I'll pay the GP costs out of Mara's gold to help the shop get awesomer and awesomer.

On a side note, Gardens seem to be the champion among all rooms and teams in terms of return on investment. They pay for themselves the fastest, pushing you into pure profits territory at high speed. XD

Ok so we've got 5000 gp to split up. How about 2000 gp into the shop and 1000 gp into each of our pockets? The money put into the shop will pay us back with ongoing interest, eventually, but it will take a while. The best return on investment room or team (garden) pays for itself in 450 days. So hopefully we'll be skipping along at about a month of downtime at once soon here.
I did build a spreadsheet that makes it much, much easier to make a big batch of downtime rolls. I'll make us a copy.

As the energy bursts uncontrollably from the wand, Mara drops it in shock. Karita's body crumples and Mara gasps "No! No! NOOOO!" She shakes her hands in frustration, fear, and anger. "Let's get her out of here, quick! Maybe we can heal her!" She starts trying to drag her comrades body through the door.

Well if a UMD check is called for, I'm happy to attempt it. Mara is way better at that than spellcraft.
Mara casts a cantrip on herself then fiddles with the rod, trying to see what it's meant to do.
UMD with guidance: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 1 = 12 Oof! Well at least it wasn't a nat 1 so I may be allowed to try again. If that fails by 10 or more, there's a mishap I guess. I'll retry if there is no dangerous mishap until I get it or get a nat 1, locking myself out for 24 hrs.

It's a spellcraft check to ID, yes? You are totally right that UMD says "You can’t aid another on Use Magic Device checks. Only the user of the item may attempt such a check", which I didn't realize. But spellcraft doesn't have any clause like that.

Unfortunately, one can't take 10 on an aid another roll. I guess that was a design decision because one always knows the DC and a +0 modifier would succeed every time. On the bright side, you get +4 instead of +2 from Mara if she succeeds on the aid another roll.
Spellcraft aid, DC 10: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20 BOOM! lol.
