Maps survives the second blast, and again is quickly healed. Though the sonic rifle is depleted, the robot falls before he needs to resort to his second gun - the one loaded with an adamantine bullet.

Maps takes particular interest in the robot and its Sky Key heart, fascinated by the power it holds.

Did the key reanimate the robot guardian, or has someone else been here and tampered with it?

Before the group departs the crash site, he takes time to wander it, taking notes and looking for anything that might offer more insight. Later he pours over a copy of a Thread of Silver, hoping to better understand his experience.

The Sage sent me here. Why? Is this about my past or just another favor for the Society? This seems far removed from the interests of the Scarab Sages. Always more questions then answers it seems...

I'm pretty sure you need two-handed firearms proficiency. Maps is interested in it too, but only has proficiency in one-handed firearms.

Picking over the gear of the Technic League thugs, Maps is surprised by their possessions, or rather the lack thereof of certain items. Aside from their gearsmen soldiers, his own firearms are more advanced.

Claiming a tanglefoot bag and a potion of cure moderate wounds, he nods at Ingret's advice and gestures to the bodies of their attackers.

"Not much tech. Probably just thugs. We should get moving."

Maps springs through the tavern, loading his double-barreled firearm with a bullet as he goes. Circling the enemy in the other room, he levels his gun, but holds his shot until the second mage attempts a spell.

If invisibility purge reveals the mage, Maps will put a few shots into him. If he's out of sight, or quickly drops, he will switch to the pyromancer. If he drops someone and regains a grit, he will expend it on the BOF extra shot.

His scarf-clad tentacle takes Maps' second gun, freeing up his hands to rapidly reload alchemical round and fire them at the enemy.

Stepping back to the bar, Maps offers a strong suggestion to Shel. "Get behind me."

Releasing his pole arm, he dedicates himself to putting bullets in the air. His double-barreled gun whips back around and is reloaded in a flash of his hands. Two rounds fly at the mage, followed by a third, while Maps' other hand draws his second gun and puts an adamantine bullet into the gearsman going after Shel.

@GM: since Ignatious technically goes before Maps in this sequence Blessing of Fervor let Maps stand without provoking, so I think that AoO doesn't happen.

Maps easily dodges the gearsman, and avoids direct hits by fire and lightning, but is pulled to the ground by the whip. Though injured by all the attacks, Haley's healing energy restores him to nearly perfect condition.

Leaping back to his feet (provoking an AoO) and hopping back from the gearsman, he snatches his double-barreled firearm from its holster and pulls both triggers at the nearest mage.

Maps is not the type of man who meddles in the affairs of random strangers. But he is well aware of the Pathfinder penchant for doing so, and the oath he took to cooperate with others in the Society.

Having encountered the brutal Technic League before, Maps would at first assume some form of strong-arm tactics would be necessary, but since Brissa is a merchant, and a priestess of Abadon, he suspects he has something else in mind.

Hanging back like a silent ghost, Maps listens to the others discuss their mission. He is a tall weathered man with a thin dour face, a dingy longcoat, and stringy unkempt hair. He wears a bandolier upon which dangle the powder horns, cartridges, plus the alchemical trappings of one familiar with firearms, and the observant eye would notice the hilts of a couple pistols holstered under his coat. Leaning against the wall nearby is a well-made guisarme with a cold iron blade.

Maps knows a bit about where they are headed, and who they might have deal with, but since the others seem knowledgeable as well he adds nothing in the meeting.

Of the Pathfinder's present he has traveled with two of them. He chased down a murderer with Hailey in Magnimar, and was with Shel when the Society recovered the Thread of Silver in Nantambu. He's read the text before, and even understood some of it. Familiar things, clues, and a feeling, buried deep in his subconscious.

The Technic League again. And this time in their home turf of Numeria. The Sage promised he would help me find answers, but this is so far from the Wastes... perhaps I was wrong to think the mystery would be solved there. Nantambu opened the door, is this where it leads?

He then leaps across the lava, a little closer to the second elemental, making himself a target for both.

Bizzle looks like an Alkenstar candle. He scans the room, checking his companions. Looks like everyone else is occupied. Don't look like the type to work a healing wand anyway.

"Keep at it." He says to Nikodemes, then vaults the panel and drops to the floor below, dodging fire and lava as he crosses to Bizzle. Popping a healing wand from his second wrist sheath, he tries to keep the gnome alive.

Maps shakes his head clear of the salamander's magic as Nikomedes arrives at the console. From previous experience Maps knows Niko is more skilled with such things. "Seems the lizard doesn't want this messed with. I suggest you mess with it."

Drawing his double-barreld firearm, Maps steps to the side and unloads a few rounds into the nearest mephit.

Maps easily dodges most of the salamander's fireball. His coat smoking, he emerges from the flames and dashes to the side, evades a mephit's scorching ray, and leaps up to the platform to take cover behind the console there. He then he flicks his wrist to spring a wand to hand and uses it to shield himself with magic.

Maps looks over the portals. "Unless we coordinate, we won't even open one of these portals in time. Let's focus on 1 and 2."
