I'd like to think one day the party will have a nice meal around a big roasted lizard-bird, bickering about the finer points of politics, acquisitions, and deities while watching a coconut toss match between two warring groups of monkeys. Mean time I hope ya'll have a lovely Thanksgiving if you celebrate it. If you don't, then I hope you keep good people and food at hand regardless.

Malick had been ready to come to blows with the natives, as swords, spears, and even the occasional bite were to be expected in this sort of fight. He did not expect a giant lizard. He really did not expect a flying giant lizard. I am guessing since we just attacked them that either their turn has been spent trying to flee, or this cinematic moment has occurred prior to their action. "We picked this fight to pick them off. Looks like the beast can finish them while we get gone!" Malick says, all to aware that a buckler and short sword are poor matches against a massive lizard.

We are what we eat, and they are my kind of meat. I have begun to think of this campaign like a snow globe. You can stir it up and it will begin to look all shiny and pretty again, but once the bits settle out it is just some people frozen in place, throwing spears and spitting magic. Not exactly a bad thing, as I am still excited for the game even though it has been over two months since our last gameplay post, just a curious thing.

Side note, Slashing Grace is making me cranky. Technically it only lets you choose a one handed weapon, so light weapons like the kukri are not options. Being able to use a light weapon would be nice as I could then take Piranha Strike and take my strength from a 13 to a 10. Upside of Slashing Grace over Dervish Dance is that you can two weapon fight with SG. Fancy new feats aside, the character is functional as is, poking at it isn't needed.

It seems like there are a decent number of boats smashed up on this island, so another boat would make sense. You might have been a member of the ship's crew on our boat, or you might have been one of Jask's guards (might not fit the character though). Could be you and 5 are captives, or we find your camp where you are currently battling off some of the cannibals or other such island pests. Could be you pissed off some mighty water spirit and were trapped in a giant coconut for the past decade/century, and have only recently awoken and eaten your way out. Perhaps you were plundering the collection of a potent wizard. You were distracted by your partner succumbing to a sneezing fit and you were both then hit by a teleportaion effect shunting you to this wayward island. Anyway we spin it, I am excited that this game will coming to life again soon!

Charisma is quite fun. Bards and Oracles are always fun, but your direction with the Skald could be quite fun. I is tempting me to go from a Dexterity focused Swashbuckler to a Strength focused one. You could also take a look at the new Magus archetype that makes them into a spontaneous charisma based caster (eldritch scion). Are you aiming for a balance of buff and bash?

We had it filed under Cultural Experience, but the Commission for Extraordinary And Supernatural Experiences decreed it an Evil Act despite the cultural context. We just don't have the capital to cover Atonement Insurance or to be licensed as a Profane Purveyor. Still I got a great feeling about our new set of water slides on that oddly smoking-and-warm-to-the-touch mountain. Should make for one hell of a slide down those flumes!

We do have a cleric NPC and a bard NPC, so we might be able to rope them into the roles of Heal and Buff. You have both ranged damage and arcane knowledge, while Belor has his Beatstick, Beast-Shtick, and nature magics. I am sorta good with a sword, decent with people, and can disarm traps like a rogue. We can cover many of the roles for the rolls already so there is a lot of freedom for anyone looking to join. Any buffy classes would be awesome, but not mandatory.

Real life is always the number one priority, so don't worry too much about us. That said I do appreciate you letting us know that you will be out and about for a stretch. 1. We are in the middle of a fight I think, and I am picking it up right there seems just fine to me. 2. I have no problems with another player or two so long as they play nice with others. 3. Unknown? 20 point buy is my standard fare and it has rarely let me down, but something extra could be fun. Not sure if I would lean toward more raw power (higher stats) or more versatility (bonus feats or such?). 4. Being flexible within the campaign is always fun as it can turn some binary checks and moments in the written story into grayer and more dynamic events. 5. That would be quite interesting! I have little mythic experience outside of the Magical Girl game I DMed for the playtest (little more Madoka little less Sailor Moon). 6. Again, my experience here falls short, but a pirate fleet and some coastal conquest could be awesome so long as it isn't a spreadsheet simulator. 7. So long as posts do not leave people behind when they need to operate around their own schedules, more posts on flavor and NPC dynamics could flesh out the story. Transforming my survival check to build a shelter into me overhearing NPC's chatter away about rumors and myths could be a pretty cool thing to come home and read (no pressure). Do your biz and thanks again for joining us!

So where would you guys wanna pick the story back up from, assuming we are not going to make any changes with adding in new people or whathaveyou? I would like to start from at least the point where the group has visited the ship and gathered up all the NPCs. I imagine it will be a while before this game begins again but it is likely worth while to figure out where we want to start from.
That was fun! What about this particular campaign is attractive to you as GMs? When you GM do you trend toward any particular genre when you add your own touch to something pre made? Or do you prefer to play things out as written as much as possible? For example, I tend to sneak in a bit of elder gods and madness into most games, but only when appropriate. Most players are not 'afraid' of giants or dragons, but plenty get a shiver from a gibbering mouther or voices from the beyond the void.
We have not really used Skype yet, though I am not opposed to using it. Roll20 was used almost entirely for mapping the island and combat, though we did all of our rolling on these forums. Support the vote for a rap battle to the death, though an alternative would be to duel using the rules on the sidebar of http://www.reddit.com/r/DuelingCorner

Yep, they are more of the east coast region, but I figured I would as as the viking funeral thing isn't too common these days. I have to agree on parking and trucks, but luckily public transit is pretty solid in Seattle (though constantly loosing funding, as public transit does). Yeah they really need to rework food naming aspects, cuz non carbon based produce would be rather unpleasant. Colorado is pretty lovely. Got a friend going to gradschool out there currently and she seems to be having a grand time of it.

Lived there for six years, it was excellent, and I look forward to moving back there next year. Given recent events I am curious if you are talking about Dave Brockie... Seattle is easy for me to like as I study the oceans, love the rain, and drink my fair share of beer. I poked both of our missing companions on skype, but have not gotten any sort of response.

Doin' alright. Got one more week of teaching wee lil' kiddies the wonders of science and art in summer camp type form. I was also thinkin' that me and some buddies would do some fun story telling and dice type game, but maybe some are like busy and stuff? They are cool people, so I hope they are well, but I would also enjoy getting to stab people with them again.

"So they are, keep punchin' holes in em and they'll come tricklin' back down!" Malick moves through the grease up to local #1, giving him a poke with his lil sword. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 vs DC 10
If one attacks Malick in melee he attempts his Parry and Riposte

Malick moves into position, throwing his dagger at Local #1, then draws his shortsword
"Ah, my hand slipped, be a lad and bring that back over for me?" The first one that attacks Malick gets a Parry & Riposte

Malick takes a moment to wring some sweat out of his hair "I am sure there be an argument in there somewhere 'bout how strikin' down too many devils makes a devil of you...but stayin' safe is important. More they loose, less a threat they might be. That said, more they loose, more dangerous we are seen, fer better or fer worse." Malick frowns and swats away at the last sentence like some unwanted pest "Point is, we want to be safe, they want to kill us. We are safer without them, regardless of who killed or wanted to kill the other first type moral yip yapperin'. But, we do this only if we know we'll crush em."
