caster4life here with my finished submission (barbarian+investigator). He's got a bit of a professor Hulk thing going on and is very much a young idealist with his own quirky, firmly held philosophy who's just one year out of university. Depending on the party composition, I'm happy to respec a little, e.g., to handle traps.

In terms of party contribution, he has some ok utility skills given that he's an investigator with a bunch of skill ranks and can freely use inspiration on a good number of skills. He also has some extracts to help with utility, healing himself, etc, and can pick up scent if necessary. In combat, he'll typically be doing a gore, bite, claw, claw, hoof, hoof at +11 to hit and damage for all but the hooves, which are secondary so not quite as strong. He can buff up a bit stronger too but won't be able to do that for all the combats likely to happen in a given adventuring day, at least not at this level.

Will be away from the internet the 28th and 29th for an anniversary trip. I'll be back to playing on the 30th.

Lysander moves into the area to the south to take a look as quietly as he can.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

20 ft aura.

Lyander steps south to be out of the influence of the dangerous gremlins and launches a bomb at one of them, hoping to hit its simian companion as well.

Bomb against touch, two range increments: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 - 2 + 1 + 1 = 16
Dam: 1d6 + 5 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 + 1 = 11

I am 25 ft from the nearest pugwampi. Targeting yellow. DC 16 reflex save or be entangled and glued to floor. DC 16 reflex save against 8 splash damage and entangled but not glued for baboon.

Lysander steps back to defend the group from the surging crowd. He chucks one of his new, sticky creations at the approaching hostiles.

Attack against touch at 2 range increments: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 6 + 1 = 19
Dam: 1d6 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 5 + 1 = 10

Targeting green. DC 16 reflex save or be entangled and glued to the floor. Same save for his baboon or be entangled and take 7 splash damage. I'm pretty sure I'm not inside range of any of the unluck auras.

Unaware of the creatures coming up from behind, Lysander moves forward and launches a bomb at a distant pugwampi.

Attack light blue's touch ac: 1d20 + 5 - 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 5 - 6 + 1 = 9
Dam: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Entangled on a hit. Probably not a hit.

GM:

You're correct about the range increments. My mistake.

Lysander continues moving forward and throws another bomb, hoping to connect this time.

Attacking green: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 2 - 2 = 19
Dam: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

I was targeting red with the bomb, if that helps clarify where the miss lands. I was firing at 3 range increments.

Lysander barks "Hostiles!!" Then he pulls out to vials, pours the smaller into the larger, and tosses it at the crowd of pugwampis which rushing toward them.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 2 = 6
Dam: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

DC 16 reflex save for those within 5 ft to avoid getting entangled and redice splash damage from 7 to 3. Full damage and glued to the floor for the target, if hit against FF AC. Probably a miss..

Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Perc: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

Good where i am!

The young alchemist prince continues sneaking forward into the abandoned monastery, looking for hazards. I cannot surmise what pairings of potential adversaries are boded by the tracks Kol-Relden observed...

Still moving. I assume I don't need to roll a new stealth check. 27. 16 for perc.

Lysander eyes the monastery with interest, wondering if he knows anything about who built it and how long it's likely to stay standing.

K hist: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
K eng: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Then he noses up to the door as quietly as he can and peeks inside.

Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Perception w new darkvision: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Lysander nods. "Yes. We should be well rested and prepared for our morning excursion." He then retires to his tent. In the morning, he readies his alchemical supplies and tightens his pack, ready to go whenever the others are.

Lysander nods in greeting. "Your return bodes well for logistical success regarding our current objectives." In his opinion, Lysander had just given Alexandra a very warm welcome. "Namely, the Battlemarket of Kelmarane." Making sure nobody is close enough to listen in, Lysander continues in a low tone. "Our Draconic employer has surmised that another gem may be obscured there. The Pactmasters of Khatapesh have commissioned Almah to reconnoiter and secure the locale. We are aiding her while seeking the artifact. Our proximate task is to secure an abandoned monastic institution along our route."

Lysander nods. "Recoinnassance is will within our skills and stated objectives. Is there any information regarding this monastery and the route to it that may increase our efficiency and security?"

Lysander nods. "Indeed. The missing bovid was apparently absconded with by these creatures." He points to the unconscious pugwampi. "They were exceptionally hostile when we attempted to retrieve said unit of livestock. I am uncertain of the significance of this. But he" pointing to Dashki "Understood what their strange language and may have more information."

Lysander looks through the vegetation, somewhat unsure what he is seeing. He calls out "Amelia, are you pugilistically striking the dead one or the unconscious one? I am certain they habe committed unjust actions but I believe they are already incapacitated."

XD

Lysander calls through the thorny vegetation "A live prisoner may prove most useful from an informational and tactics perspective!"

I'm up for going back to camp.

Hearing things calm down, Lysander calls through the plants "What is the tactical status of our situation? I cannot see much from here."

Lysander nods, content to follow directions from those who can actually see what's going on, and stops throwing bombs.

I think it's the party's turn?

Lysander mutters under his breath "Confusing. My ballistic calculations accounted for air velocity, uncertainty in position, everything..." But the stubborn student of chemistry tries again, launching another ball of flaming tar.

Attack square to the left of Pugwampi, AC 9: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 2 = 10
Entangled duration: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5

Anyone within 5 ft of wherever that ends up, 6 damage and entangled or 3 damage and no entangled if they make a DC 16 reflex save.

Nodding wordlessly, the young alchemist sidesteps while he launches a bomb just behind the creature immediately in front of Kol-Relden.

Targeting the square to the left of the Pugwampi to reduce the chance of hitting Kol-Relden should I miss. Moving to the left 10 ft as well.

Attack against AC 5+4 for cover: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 - 2 - 2 = 10
Duration of tangle: 2d4 ⇒ (2, 1) = 3Rounds

DC 16 reflex save or take 6 damage and become entangled. If he makes the save, he takes 3 damage and doesn't get entangled at all.

Lysander calls over the thicket "Are you in need of assistance? I believe I could launch a weapon in that direction but my probability of delivering a precise payload is low."

GM, can I see them inside the thicket? Would there be attack roll penalties besides range for launching a bomb at one of the Pugwampi's? Do they have cover from me?

Is there a battle map? I'm a little unclear about some of the details of positioning here.

Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Upon hearing the threats, Lysander moves closer to his allies, preparing to defend them. He replies to Dashki "Inform them that such aggression toward us will serve no desirable purpose."

GM, if there seems to be time here, Lysander will spend ten minutes prepping an extract of comprehend languages.

Trusting Iraonar's and Kol-Relden's handling of the situation, Lysander keeps watch in case whoever tied the goat here returns.

Lysander sees his companions heading through the cacti and decides to circle around and keep a look out while they do so.

Perc: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

Haha. Hoping that I was fast enough to get a little chance to stealth ahead. *shrug* It'll be fun either way.

K Nat: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24

"I conclude with reasonable certainty that that is a missing unit of livestock for which we have been searching. I move that we pursue this information post haste."

Lysander creeps off to the north to try to get a better view.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29+1 more if this counts as hilly terrain
Perc: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Survival aid another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21

Lysander examines the ground and picks out a few clues. "I am not proficient in such matters but I believe we could follow these tracks if one of you were to supply the primary expertise."

Congrats on the anniversary!

Lysander raises an eyebrow at the odd interaction. "Hooray." He then checks his pack and stands at the exit of the tent, ready to go.

My sense motive is only +1, sorry. So total should be one less on my last post.

SM: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Lysander turns to Iraonar "Perhaps that I'd an adequate and satisfactory solution for yourself but personally I would not miss the chance to observe these rare and interesting creature's!"

He turns to Amelia and Almah. "I heartily second the motion. Let us embark!!" The curious young fellow is positively trembling with interest.

Lysander nods enthusiastically. "A fascinating possibility!"

K nat: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

Does Lysander know anything about Pugwampi's and whether or not this is a reasonable claim? If so, he'd like to pursue immediately since we can come back to investigate Dashki later but the tracks could get washed away.

The undiplomatic alchemist manages to both roll his eyes in exasperation while also looking sorry and contrite. All this socializing makes him feel full of split emotions.

Good to hear from you, Alexandra! We've missed you! Glad to hear things are working out better right now.

Lysander nods gravely. Then he bluntly bursts out "And please provide an adequate justification for your inordinate interest in the lady Almah! Why would you deem her standard guards insufficient?"

Forward sounds good! I would probably want to try to track Dashki or the goat looking for tracks around the edge of the camp but I don't think Lysander is aware of that right now.

Lysander whispers aside to Iraonar "I wish to establish any discrepancies in reports either due to logistics or dishonesty."

Lysander considers thoughtfully. "Hmmm.... Perhaps if the wagon combusted in his sleep. Would he normally be sleeping at this time of day? Did anyone hear him crying out for help?"

Lysander nods, taking notes. Aside to Iraonar, he comments "Indubitably, we should speak with this Dashki." To the bodyguard, he stammers "Err.. excuse me but... if you were to make a conjecture, whom would you speculate to be the arsonist?"

Lysander shuffles over to the two guards, ready to take notes. "Err... We have a few queries..." He looks desperately to Iraonar for help.

Lysander follows along toward Almah's guards, scribbling notes.

Thanks for the summary! Very helpful!

Lysander turns to his musical colleague. "Excellent. Perhaps we should speak with Almah's guards now?"

GM, I must admit I'm a little stuck here. Could you list some options for our next steps to help us move forward?

Lysander considers the information carefully. "Omens. An interesting method of predicting events. What do the members of the caravan think of Almah's leadership on this journey?"

Lysander ponders this information, unsure what leads to pursue next. He scratches his head, contemplating. "Are there any in this caravan who dislike Almah's leadership?"f
