Lucius' skin tingles as Naja channels to heal Jair. He Embraces the source once more and readies the weaves of Air, ready to lock them around any of the group that should fall once more. [ooc]Ready Action to weave Harden Air around a falling person.[/i]
That is pretty rough! I hope you heal quickly...
Lucius nods and reaches out to touch Naja's hand, "Contact makes it easier. It is much the same, and yet much different I am told, as linking with another woman save that I must lead."
Lucius reaches to Seize the Source and, as he would with an Angreal, also reaches through Naja as gently as he can. A rushing torrent of the Power floods through the Sea Folk woman and her strength is added to his own. He smiles at her briefly, and then turns his attention to Jair. Lucius mutters to himself as he grasps the threads of pure Air, "And even so I must reach for more, I think." He draws deeply on the source, and Naja can feel when Lucius draws more than is strictly safe for him to channel. Using hundreds of hair-thin strands he forms the weaves gently and carefully into a cocoon of Air to hold Jair immobile while he is carried over to the lift platform.
The fallen man's body rises into the air, slowly crosses the gulf between the cliff and the platform, and settles gently to the planks directly over one of the main beams of the floor. Lucius does not release the weaves, nor does he remove them from around Jair's body until Jair's weight is resting safely upon the platform. Once Jair is secure, Lucius nods his thanks to Naja, and releases the Source and the Link, "I have not the talent to heal him."
"I can, perhaps..." Lucius considers the fallen form of Jair, trying to evaluate how heavy he might be. After a moment, he turns to Naja, "though we are newly met, I would ask your assistance with this task as Air is not my strongest weave. Will you Link with me to help save this man?"
Hey Rizzen, that means that I would have 8 weaves known for each of my levels, or 24 more than I have now... It seems a bit OP.

my long overdue level-up is done. I assume that we do not get to take any new weaves?
Seeing two now fall from the platform, Lucius seizes the One Power. For a moment that drags for an eternity, as it always does, his world is nothing but the raging inferno and bone-breaking cold of the struggle to master Saidin and bend it to his will. When it is under his control, he readies the weaves of Air that will catch anyone else who may fall.
Lucius likes the look of the descent contraption very little. However, he likes the thought of being captured by the Seanchan much less, particularly when considering what the Seanchan think of his kind. "Well, let's be about it," he says as he walks aboard the rickety platform.
Lucius nods in agreement as he turns away from the healing, "Indeed, we must slip this noose before it is set."
Always interested in workings of the One Power, Lucius drifts out of the shadows to where the newcomer was tending to Jair.
Lucius sits quietly, his back to the wall as he waits for his headache to leave him. Once it does, he quietly spends the rest of the time practicing some Soldier level exercises with Saidin to settle his mind. When the newcomers arrive, he rises to his feet and stands quietly, but does not release the One Power.

Lucius nods in agreement with Bormanes, and joins the Cairhienin in gathering wood and laying in a fire. Once the bonfire is laid, Lucius channels a thin thread of pure Fire and the wood catches light readily, growing to a steady blaze under the continued application of Fire.
Sorry to hear that, Rizzen. Losing a loved one is always hard! I will get lvl 2 taken care of today.
I am still here. Sorry for such a long silence, I am pretty sure the board ate a post right around Christmas.
Lucius finds his voice finally, though it still holds a bit of the horror at what this "Ogier" did, "The man he fought below was Jasper Firewyn, a traitor and renegade Ash'aman, though it pains me to admit he was once one of us. He hunts us out of spite because he was not made our leader, and destroyed our chapterhouses in Tear and Cairhienin. He was very powerful - from what I felt when he channeled he was even more powerful than my order truly understood - and very dangerous. I am curious to know if you defeated him, if you killed him, or did he escape?"
Lucius stands at the doorway, mouth agape, speechless at the horror of the spectacle he has just witnessed.
Having no weapon in hand, no knowledge of how to shield someone from the Source, and already taxed himself more than is safe for one day, Lucius knows there is little he can do to stop this traitor from doing whatever she is doing. He will save who he can, if the Light smiles upon him. "Come! There is little we can do here!" He grips Dalia's wrist and attempts to rush out of the hut with her.
Lucius shakes his head with a sharp negative motion.
Still embracing the Source from the flight up the hill, Lucius begins to gather Fire to himself, weaving it into an attack but not releasing it just yet.
Lucius leads the way into the hall, then turns to Dalia, "Are you skilled in Healing? Have you ever Linked with a man? I have only Linked a couple of times during my training."
Rizzen, are we using the Asha'man from UtDB or the prestige class from the Pathfinder?
I will get Lucius leveled up asap. :)
With a raising gesture, Lucius channels pure fire, bringing the fire into being in the clothing of one of their assailants.
Lucius moves quickly to Dalia and Bormanes, drawing his sword and preparing to defend them as they work to move the injured Aes Sedai, "If you wish, I am willing to link my strength to yours to heal the Aes Sedai, Dalia." Lucius follows Dalia and Bormanes out of the ruined house.
Lucius scoots back while the traitor that hunts Ash'aman is distracted, then rises cautiously to his feet.
For a moment Lucius simply stares at .. Not Jamyn! Not HIM! .. from where he lays on the floor, the expression on his face clearly shows his expectation of death at this man's hands. But Lucius will not go into that dark night without a struggle. Drawing deeply on the Source, Lucius crosses the threshold between what is safe and what could do serious damage to himself, and channels!
Overchannel damage:
Overchannel DC: 20
Fortitude Save Roll: 12 Overchannel damage table: Headache and fatigue result in -2 penalty on all skill and ability checks, attack rolls, and saves. You also take damage and cannot overchannel until after at least 6 hours of rest. Instead of a blinding flare of light in front of Jasper's eyes, there is a blinding flare of light in Lucius' own skull as the forming weaves crumble with painful effects. A trickle of blood seeps from the corner of Lucius' eyes and he slumps back to the floor with the heels of his hands pressed to his eyes.
So, I am trying to figure out how to do overchanneling. In the WoTPathfinder pdf it indicates that you make a Channel skill check after referencing table 9-2. Table 9-2 does not make any mention of overchanneling and, based on previous discussions, we are not using the Channel skill. So .. how do we resolve overchanneling?
Lucius is confused by the congeniality in Manwhen Sedai's greeting for a moment, Ah, not of any nation. I understand now. In this place they can simply be the people they are under the masks they wear. The spy's list of crimes makes little difference to Lucius, save for a few, Assassination, spreading the plague, and Rape!? This man will die if the Seanchan do not kill him! Having seen the transformation in Jamyn, Naidan?, before, Lucius is less surprised by it. But he is no more prepared than any of the others for the announcement that one of the captives is one of the dreaded FORSAKEN! But can we trust this snake? Is she really... And then the A'dam falls from around her neck. And then, as if that was not enough, he feels... "Manwhen, a man just channeled. Outside, but close. Half bowshot."
Lucius bows slightly to the Aes Sedai and escorts Jamyn inside the hut. As he passes inside it, Lucius once again reaches out to the Source, to that familiar maelstrom of fire and ice and wrestles it into submission.
Lucius remains quiet, standing near to the Seanchan spy. Though he is tense, he tries not to let it show.
Lucius dismounts, doing his best to portray complete calm.
His outward calm effectively conceals his inner turmoil. Though he wants to, he does not draw his blade nor does he embrace the Source. Why, in the name of the Light, do the exchanges happen in there?!
Lucius gives a short bow to the Aes Sedai, then reins his horse to be behind and to the left of The spy's horse.
Lucius is by turns impressed that one of the Aiel found humor in a 'wetlander' joke and surprised that the borderlander had a sense of humor, after all, didn't that get frozen off along with everything else up there? And finally, he waits; waits for Tiana to lift that veil to cover her face. Luckily, Manwhen Sedai chooses that moment to have time for him. Luckily?! I must be slipping if a respite from this scene is a private chat with an Aes Sedai. Lucius rises from his chair smoothly, casts a pitying look at the nearly dead man, and steps outside the curtains with the Aes Sedai. Manwhen: Lucius will glance around and ask quietly "Please forgive my presumption Mistress Manwhen, but are we private?"
Assuming they are or that Manwhen makes them so, Lucius bows slightly to her, you catch more flies with honey, "I do not know if this will have any bearing on your mission tonight, which is the only reason I mention it. I am as certain as I can be without having the spy willing be tested that he is a man who can learn to Channel, or one who already knows. I was caught by surprise when you revealed his status and I embraced the Source. I felt the tiniest of echoes within him, and his gaze snapped to me after I embraced the Source. It was unusual, and given the nature of what we do this night, I felt I should inform you of unusual things."
Lucius rises to his feet as Manwhen seemingly dismisses them and as she passes by his seat, he speaks softly, hopefully for her ears alone, "Mistress Manwhen, when time permits, I have new information I would like to give you." Lucius scowls at the man's vulgarity, then proceeds to try and ignore him while enjoying the meal.
Lucius' eyes narrow in irritation when he is referred to as "Mister" and he seems about to say something. Then, as if a thought just occurred to him, the irritation melts off his face. His eyes flick toward the privacy curtains and he gives Manwhen Sedai a small bow when he turns back toward the table. Of course. Here in 'enemy' held territory, we should not advertise what we are. Though I am sure they know what an ageless face means. Still, annoying as she is, it would be well to remember the wealth of experience she has at her trade. Though he wants to say something, Lucius has learned better than to try to fence words with this Aes Sedai; he always comes out on the losing side.
Lucius enters the small room, refreshed from his bath and his hunger sated for now. He nearly declines to sit, but at last decides that he will, knowing that sharing a table with Lucius will only further aggravate Jamyn Firyn. Annoying at first, Lucius decided about halfway through the trip to be amused by the man's obvious dislike for the black coat and all it represents. Lucius murmurs the desired oath to hold in secrecy what the Aes Sedai is about to reveal. When she makes her pronouncement, Lucius flinches slightly and opens himself to the One Power. He stops at the very edge of that torrent of fire and ice and only two things prevent Lucius from outright embracing the source; Manwhen's calm, and the fact that she is much more experienced with the One Power and could probably tie Lucius in knots if she so desired. And she seems to know when I am embracing the Source. No, it would not do to interrupt her theatrics. No, not in the least. He does, however, hold himself ready to wield the One Power at a moment's notice. His only other reaction is to mutter quietly, "Well, this should be interesting..."
One other thing, I was curious if you are still looking over that other set of channeling rules and if you were planning on making any changes to the way that the One Power is used.
I don't have access to my WoT files at work, so I will get this updated tonight. One I know I was interested in was the Forge Metal power, but I do not remember if that was Rare or Lost.
That seax looked really good, sorry it snapped. I want to get into working with blades, myself. When you figure out what happened, you should update us. In other news, are you part of any of the myriad facebook blacksmithing groups?
P.S. I am working on getting his backstory typed up.
Equipment and Powers done. Rizzen, what is your take on lost powers this long after the books? I stayed away from them for now, holding to the "use the power for everything" idea of Asha'man I took powers that could easily be used for mundane tasks. But I thought about taking a couple of the lost/rare ones from other talents as my 4th and 5th level bonus powers known. Would you be okay with that?
I am a rank beginner .. for me it is the start of a hobby, but if I love it enough (and I think I will) I could easily see it being my profession.
