A knock at the door. The knocker waits, then raps again.

A silent rush, and suddenly the door opens. A quiet whisper echoes through the night. "Raegos? What do you want? Go away."

A man, well- built and bull strong, with a sword strapped to his hip, steps into the doorway. Peculiarly, he wears a blindfold, tied around his forehead, and obscuring all vision. He quickly feels the doorway, and rasps.

"Another attack, Lucerna. They got Jalcen. It's just me and you, left. They're targeting us, and soon, we'll die."

A young girl, barely old enough to maintain, let alone own, a home, preens her oddly slanted eyes at the man. "Undead don't target! They don't plan. They're dead, Raegos. It's just a coincidence. Let it go." A moment passes, and then she adds "And take that stupid blindfold off."

The man shakes his head, and stops. "I've seen three, Lucerna. If I take this off, I'll turn into one of them, sure as day."

The girl scoffs, and turns around. "You're superstitious, old man."

The man is only 4 or 5 summers older than the girl. Despite this, he holds back, saying nothing.

The girl continues. "Raegos, please. We did it. We snuck in around the priests, looted the temple, and were well paid for it, like normal. No one knows, and those who do, will never tell. We were careful. It's no different than anything we've done before. " She pauses, and collects a knife.

"Now, if anyone did take the time to track us down, well, there's only one person responsible for that. I'm going to go pay him a visit." The sound of a backpack being tied shut echoes. "I'd appreciate it if you came along."

The man pauses, and considers this. A moment's hesitation is too long, however, for suddenly, a whoosh sounds, and she's gone. He ruefully smiles, knowing the impetuous young thief for what she is.

And with a casual whistle, he heads down to the street, nervously hugging the sides of the buildings.

Good luck everyone! Thanks to GM Placeholder of Doom for setting up a campaign that's drawn this much interest!

Grand Lodge

Hope it all clears up for you soon, DM!

So, after much deliberation, I've decided to go ahead and move Edena's weapon of choice (and her mother's gift) from glaive to shortsword. In essence, everything's the same, where you see glaive hear shortsword. She took Agile Maneuvers as her 1st lvl feat, instead of the one I couldn't take. Otherwise, she should be ready to go!

Grand Lodge

@Souls of War- that's where I am now. Currently debating the merits of focusing so much on the glaive on what was intended to be a non- martial character, or just scrapping the glaive altogether. I took the glaive because I really wanted Edena to be a follower of Shelyn; but I'm thinking maybe Shelyn is just going to have to learn to love the Shortsword.

Grand Lodge

@GM- That was the plan, until it was nicely pointed out that U- Rogues don't meet the requirements for Weapon Focus at 1st level- meh. Though I do appreciate the suggestion!

Maybe Combat Trick as my 2nd level Rogue talent.....

And......Edena's back to the drawing table. If you see chalk dust, don't worry, it's under control.

I blame this error on Shelyn for having a favored weapon mostly unusuable by rogues until 11th level.

Well, @theasl got to it before I did, but I'm glad someone else followed my logic (or lack thereof). I was pretty intent on Bladed Brush at 3rd level, and it just never occurred to me that I couldn't take Weapon Finesse: Glaive without Bladed Brush, until someone else said it (don't ask, my brain does weird things). That being said, I don't see why I couldn't take the feat at 1st, just wouldn't be able to use it till 3rd- it just says I can use Weapon Finesse with a glaive, not allows me to take Weapon Finesse with a glaive; though that's probably just me trying to justify a concept already drawn up in my head. I'll rework it if that's not acceptable.

And yes, the Attached is a drawback that seemed thematically appropriate, though may be taken away if I can't use a glaive, sadly.

I'd like to present Edena Storm, Robin Hood- esque thief who too hopes to rid herself of the frivolous expectations placed upon her by her father and prove she can actually do stuff more than cook and clean. Story is in the background, but I'll post it here as well.

Backstory:
Once, a long time ago, a young lady by the name of Lyanna Rhaeke met the Earl- in- waiting Bryjan Florent, and their meeting kicked off a storm of courtship that had the young Bryjan ready for marriage; until the day Lyanna disappeared, and news that Lyanna Rhaeke was not a noble, nor ever had been, came. This devastated the young Bryjan, and hurt his reputation invariably. What was worse came next.

As a babe, Edena was left on the doorstep of the Florent family doorstep, a relatively minor noble family on the outskirts of the Verduran Forest. Fortunately for the young Edena, she had more than a passing resemblance to the head of the family, Bryjan Florent. Unfortunately for the head of the family, she looked exactly like him, and he was forced to admit to a certain impropriety almost a year earlier, with the mysterious commoner claiming to be Lyanna Rhaeke. Bryjan, despite his wish for the affair to be covered up, also had sympathy for the child, and she was adopted into the family as a bastard, and given all the treatments as such.

Despite being a bastard, Edena was raised with he rest of the Florent children, not as an outsider, and as such received the benefits a child of a minor noble received; education, toys, and the like. Gifted in both intelligence and beauty, Edena soon was brought into the church of Shelyn, where she was further instructed in all manner of things; makeup, etiquette, arts, and sewing- all of the things a young lady would one day need to know.

However, despite the gifts she was given, there remained a certain expectation- that one day, she would marry and produce children. Edena felt strongly that she could do things more than cook or clean up after babies, and this led to some less than wise decisions. First she fell into a group of young shadows, calling themselves the Brotherhood of Silence. There, she learned all about thievery, and how to steal from both the poor, and the rich, in order to benefit a cause (usually the Brotherhood's pockets, but Edena was more concerned with the potential of what could be than what was. Then, when she used her skills to sneak around the castle, she was surprised to find an old glaive amongst the things her father kept of her mother, she came to them for instruction in it's use; they did, and when the item was discovered missing, and Edena in possession of it, her father reluctantly agreed to let her keep it, though her would try several times to convince her to put it down.

This continued until her 17th birthday, when one night, she was suddenly told that her skills had caught the eye of someone high- up in the Brotherhood, and she was being transferred to Oppara. The next morning, her father woke her up, with excited, excellent news for her. She was to travel to Oppara, to perform in one of the city's major theaters, as a ballet dancer. He thought it was an excellent way to both raise his standing in Taldor's circles, and for Edena to find a husband she never would have been able to otherwise. Immediately, she was given clothes to travel, and on her way she was sent.

Upon her arrival in the theater, near the Crownsgate District, she was prepared to meet her benefactor, Chance Diamonds, but he never showed. Instead, from asking around, she was only told that Diamonds rarely ever met with anyone in person, and almost no one was able to identify him on sight. So, she was set up with a small room she shares with several other dancers, and by day, she dances; by night, she does as the Brotherhood instructs.

Since her arrival in Oppara, young and idealistic Edena has come to use her skills to help benefit the Princess Eutropia in her works with the poor and human rights, routinely using her thieving abilities with minor nobles and rich merchants who came to the shows to rob them and return the funds to her charities. Edena sees her as the champion of her own struggles; being a dancer on her own doesn't exactly lend itself to wealth in Oppara, and defying her father's expectations of her seems similar to Eutropia's problems with primogeniture. Besides, she actually met the Princess, once, long ago, when she was a little girl; and the princess was kind to her, so that had to have mattered, right?

Personality:
Edena's a pretty willful child, and she'll do what she thinks is right, regardless. However, she's not one who eagerly seeks confrontation, hence her chosen method of solving problems; diplomacy, and thieving. Despite being from the nobility, she has no problem stealing from them; things should be more fair and equally distributed! Besides, she worked hard to steal that item/money/etc, so she's entitled to do with it as she pleases, right?

She tends towards eagerness, and excitement, well- versed in all manners of etiquette and social interactions; she'll almost more comfortable in a courtroom as she is in a dark street alley (or, perhaps more so). Her main motivations are helping young girls think of themselves as capable of anything, and helping them (and any child, really) achieve their dreams.

She does have a soft spot for anything to do with her mother or the mysterious Lyanna Rhaeke; as such, her most valuable possession, her mother's glaive, the one thing she refused to let her father tell her she couldn't do.

Think that's everything- if I'm missing something, let me know!
