Hey guys, I think I'm going to bow out of this game now. It's moving rather slowly and I just don't have the energy to keep an eye on it anymore with other games I'm in going on. To be honest, I don't think my character was helping much anyway, so it shouldn't be too difficult without me. Have fun!

Agreed, Finik. Perhaps some scouting would be a good idea.

Lokti pockets his newfound source of wealth. He will creep ahead with Finik, sneaking behind trees whenever possible.

Sneak: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34

This assumes we are still in the forest, once we leave the shelter of the woods I will have a +11 instead of +15.

I haven't had this much gold ever! Thank you for being so kind as to share what you found, Finik.

Everything Lokti has on him came from his tribe.

Lokti starts picking up fallen sticks and small branches that he can carry with his small size and begins to pile them near the fire Razz started.

Burning is good. We should try and finish quickly so we can move on, there are many people who need our help.

Lokti climbs down from his perch in the tree and walks over to Yuma. Are you okay? You took quite a hit... I am quite impressed with this group. I almost cannot believe the skill of everyone here.

Lokti stays with Yuma until he appears to be completely back to normal. He then walks around the carnage attempting to locate any useable arrows.

How many arrows can I recover? I'll go back and count them up in a little bit, but I think I'm down to about 32 at the moment.

HP=8/8, AC=19

Lokti, disappointed his first shot missed will attempt another two shots at one of the bugbears. (Bugbear 1? I'm having trouble reading it. It's the one at I8 currently.)

Flurry of blows at +3/+3:

Attack 1 - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7, Damage - 1d4 ⇒ 3
Attack 2 - 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21, Damage - 1d4 ⇒ 2

Stealth - 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (15) + 15 = 30

Lokti sits quietly in the tree and aims his bow towards the creatures. He readies his bow and focuses his attention on making the shot.

Lokti will take a shot at one of the creatures if he has a clear shot. If he does not have a clear shot, he will ready an action to take a shot as soon as one of the creatures comes into view.

Attack Roll: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Stealth (if necessary): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33

Not very good at the bow, huh? At least he's really stealthy!

I'll be away from home for the next six days or so (Thursday through Tuesday EST) and will have sporadic access to the internet at best. I should be able to check up on the forums in the evening, but if you find things slowing down because of me, feel free to just DMPC my character. I'll be back in action in a week for sure.

For this upcoming battle, Lokti will likely just fire arrows from the tree (I think that gives him a +1 bonus for height advantage? or is that a houserule?). With a full-round action he can shoot two arrows at +3 each.

Sorry about the short notice!

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Perception - 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Lokti, seeing the beasts ahead, decides to try and get a better view. He whispers to the group, "I am going to attempt to get a better vantage point."

Are there any climbable trees near the camp? If so, Lokti will climb one (he can automatically take 10 for a total of 24 because he has a climb speed of 20ft. If the DC is higher, use the climb check below. If there are no nearby trees, he'll just sneak forward with the rest of the group.

Stealth - 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22
Climb - 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (19) + 14 = 33

I feel much better now. Thank you, madam. And you as well, Fisnis and Yuma.

Back to full HP :)

Lokti winces as he feels the a little bit of blood running from the wound he received. He looks to the others, unsure of how to take care of his wound having had no training in that area. "I don't suppose anyone knows how to dress this?

Lokti is currently down to 4 HP out of 8.

Oops, shoulda done that myself:

AC = 20
HP = 5/8
Arrows = 37/40

You did say 3 damage right? The roll looks like it should be four. Let me know and I'll correct the total HP. Thanks!

Lokti, bolstered by the fact that his shot met its mark, focuses all of thoughts on one thing: his target. All of his discipline and training coming to the fore, Lokti releases two more arrows at the creature.

Lokti is standing his ground and using Flurry of Blows. He receives a bonus of +1 to attack and damage for Point Blank Shot.

Attack #1: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 1 = 7, Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Attack #2: 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 3 + 1 = 13, Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Unfortunately, Lokti is distracted at the last moment and his shots are not as straight as intended.

Lokti will move to N9 and make an attack with his shortbow. If he is within 30ft at the time of the attack, he gets an additional +1 to both attack and damage. Lokti has Precise Shot as well, so there is no penalty for shooting into melee.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Lokti had a perception roll of 20 from before and a stealth of 33.

Lokti climbs down from his spot in the tree and runs over to the rest of the group, shaking them one by one to wake them up.

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

I too would like to see a map before declaring any actions.

I shall take second watch then. My senses are rather sharp and I can still see well at night.

When it is Lokti's shift, he will climb the nearest tree that overlooks the camp. He will hide their stealthily with his bow drawn while keeping his watch.

Lokti has a climb speed of 20ft, so he can take 10 while climbing, giving him a total of 24.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33

Survival Check to find food: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Unable to find much food on the first day, Lokti eats the last of his rations.

Apparently my luck in finding food has run out. Perhaps someone else can help me tomorrow?

When it gets close to night, Lokti will bring up the idea of a watch. I suppose we should set up a watch for tonight. I recommend we take the watch in pairs.

Lokti will agree to any watch, he has no preference or needs.

Lokti bows to Laurel, thanking her for the potions, and then leaves the shop. His face shows that he is quite confused by the bickering inside. In his tribe, everyone grew up respecting everyone else. The slightest amount of disrespect brought dishonor to you and if it continued you were banished.

I have much to learn about this world, he says to no one in particular.

"Yes, agreed. It is quite important we get moving as soon as we can. I cannot bear the thought of our delay resulting in more deaths to this horrid disease.

I am prepared to move on once everyone else has finished asking their questions and our DM has returned.

Perception:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Lokti moves up from behind the rest of the group finally into view of Laurel and speaks, "Madam, you speak of the oldest tree in the forest. I imagine this tree would be the largest as well? Do you know of any easy way to find it?"

You have my condolences. Family always comes before gaming, so don't worry too much about us over here.

Lokti walks with the group towards Laurel's eager at the chance to be able to help with such a pressing issue. He thinks to himself about how it is such a pity that the sickness had to happen in the first place.

Lokti is puzzled, however, by the siblings camaraderie with each other. Despite taking jabs at each other all the time, they are obviously great friends. Most of Lokti's siblings were dead and those that were alive were just another part of the tribe, no one special. This whole idea that being closely related to someone made them more important in your life was new to him. He keeps his mouth shut about it for now, not wanting to offend anyone.

Lokti does, however, decide to ask about the young lady. He walks over to Razz. "Was that your mate? I am sure she is very beautiful for a human."

Lokti responded to Yuma Ahote in Sylvan, "Why yes, I do speak Sylvan quite fluently."

Lokti listened intently to the conversations as more folks joined the party. Once everyone is finished introducing themselves, he jumps in.

I call myself Lokti (pronounced LOCK-tee). It is a pleasure to make everyone's acquaintance! As you can probably tell, I too am not from these parts, though I have also received a summons. At the moment, I'm not entirely sure where to report to, however.

Lokti's Perception:
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27

Lokti spots a few sickly locals coughing a little ways away.

Wow... I hope I don't catch whatever is going around. It doesn't look so good.

Lokti also notices a man walk by who doesn't look anything like the rest of the locals. Perhaps he is here for the same reason as I? The Grippli decides to approach him.

"Excuse me kind sir, but you appear to be every bit as perplexed as I. Have you been summoned here to help find a cure for this horrible plague? Perhaps we can find the Magistrate together."

I will be on and off today, so I apologize in advance if I don't respond right away.

So this is Falcon's Hollow, thought Lokti as he strolled into town. It's enormous!

Lokti had only been away from his tribe for a short time before a rider had approached him with a summons from the Magistrate Elect of Falcon's Hollow. Apparently they were in the middle of some sort of plague and needed help finding a cure. How the Magistrate had heard about Lokti, he doesn't know, but of course he would agree to help.

Falcon's Hollow is the largest town Lokti has ever been to, having spent the majority of his life in the forest with the rest of his tribe. He had set out recently, in order to see the world, and had only come upon a few farms and hamlets. Most people there seemed surprised to see a "Frogman" and became downright scared when it turned out he could speak Common.

Hopefully the folks here won't be so distrustful of me.

Being early in the day, Lokti decides to take a short break and sit and wait for folks to wake up before seeking out directions to the Magistrate.

Lokti shouldn't have any trouble with difficult terrain, since he'll be fighting at range or from a vantage point (hopefully there'll be plenty of options for him to use his climb speed).

Also, in case you're wondering why I haven't been posting much, it's because I just haven't had much else to contribute yet. I've been lurking though!

I'll be on sporadically this weekend, but should be back in full swing on Monday through Friday 9-4pm EST. I'll probably do the majority of my posts then.

Fisnis: The additional +1 modifier comes from the size modifier for being small.

Mathpro: The Zen Archer archetype from the APG allows flurry of blows with the bow. However, I won't be able to flurry with unarmed strikes and I cannot add the strength modifier unless I have a composite bow.

As for availability, I'm ready whenever. Starting after the weekend sounds good if you need the time to refresh your memory on the module.

Feel free to look at Lokti's profile to see stats and such. Also, please do correct me if I've made any errors.

It was very difficult to figure out what to buy, given the monks low starting gold (35 gold average). I ended up just picking up a shortbow with some arrows, pretty much. Eventually I'll be upgrading to a composite longbow. I also want to buy a net, since Grippli are inherently proficient with it and I think that it would make for some interesting opportunities.
