I'm sure there's something anyway - maybe someone similarly unfortunate. I was speculating about robots too before. Why robots? Why not robots?

Locke looks around for whatever was looking at him. There wasn't a thing that was alive in any sense of the word that could have noticed him at all. Memory was one thing as he'd found out, but he was always outside perception if he didn't make a special effort. Something was strange here. Seriously, reading the move, it's pretty hard to imagine what that could possibly be. Dun dun dun indeed.

He keeps an eye out for anyone remotely reacting in a way that would suggest they noticed him. Anything in general, really. The only things that would generally acknowledge him were security cameras.

Agreed. I'd rather keep this going, and as long as there's a consistent update schedule (even if it has to be changed a few times), I'll be happy. Whatever you can manage. Comfortably manage, it might be worth adding.

Whoever that girl is, she gets a little well deserved karma for hassling Evan. Just because Locke feels like it. And suddenly, she falls again...seemingly tripping on thin air, funnily enough. Not trying to make a move, just messing with her for my own amusement. Aldrea is left alone for the time being. No need to do anything to her...yet. There's bound to be some stunt he could pull on the slut queen of the school later, though.

Anyway...being unnoticed isn't unusual, but he's managed to get Eliza in his corner. He's in a good mood. He scribbles down a note for Eliza.

Will backs off, but finds a bit of respite by angling his retreat behind Carrie.

She'll step forward as Will steps back. "Okay, I'll take you to the nurse." She turns back to Will, "Take my base for me." And while both guys can see her she rolls her eyes and mouths, {You owe me one.}

It's listed as affecting everything with a mind. Not even Mittens remembers him. That said, anything that isn't sentient will be fine. A camera, for example, or any recording device in general can pick up and record him as well as it would anyone else.

Here's Locke's 11 step plan to suffering soul-crushing guilt when you're already confused and alone.

Step 1: Go out to the hills to get away from people, just so he doesn't get reminded of his circumstances for a bit.
Step 2: Find car approaching on the way.
Step 3: Make an appearance with the thought that there could at least be a story of his appearance.
Step 4: Have a couple of realisations. One - they weren't going to remember ANYTHING to do with him. (It was early days for his condition. Still hadn't quite figured things out properly yet.) Two - They were liable to swerve off due to somebody appearing in the road, if he didn't get hit.
Step 5: Watch the second realisation become relevant.
Step 6: Start phoning for help...and remember they'd forget what he said as soon as the call ended. Start freaking out.
Step 7: Look over and see them stuck, knowing he caused this and he couldn't help it. The roof of the car had suffered enough damage that he could actually see what he'd wrought, and the state of the girl inside. Carrie? Oh god, she would have been fine if not for him. Wait, she's...still alive?
Step 8: Spend a lot of time trying to get help, and fail miserably.
Step 9: Go back into town, to get help. He had to.
Step 10: Fail, repeatedly. Keep going back to see if Carrie was still alive.
Step 11: Find the car falling in the final visit. Start puking off the hill.

A day or two later, Locke finds Carrie walking about as normal. He breaks down crying right then and there. She's alive. Somehow. But...how? HOW? He SAW her fall in that car. He saw the state she was in. Even if she could have survived...she's uninjured. That's...that's impossible.

He appears from behind her so as not to startle her and engages her, posing as someone she'd met a few times. Well, they had met, but she wouldn't remember. He asks after her, and says about a "rumour" that she'd managed to end up off a cliff in a car. He takes in the response, and sees himself off.

He stays away from her after that, for the most part. She died. There was no doubt there. Even if everyone else's memories were going, his weren't. He knew what he saw. But how do you tell someone you saw them die, and it was your fault?

Juliet was supposed to have seen you die, but...she isn't here. It seems Locke ended up doing that instead as I've laid it out - being the reason for it happening, no less. Think it's worth swapping some names in your list of strings?
In case we're going with this - what are you able to remember, with regards to Locke?

Still got a whole town! If you make up a new NPC, there's no backstory to adhere to.

I rather like that, actually. Can you remind me of the circumstances of the crash?

Tyler: The usual. Kid gets drunk from a party, has a stupid idea to drive. Kid meets tree face first. School is having a whole campaign and using Tyler's death as example along with the mourning. Doesn't feel right though. Felt like he was running away from something.

There might be some wiggle room with Tyler, but I don't know how you'd want to handle it. He won't have directly killed him, obviously, but this sounds like something that went too far because he wasn't careful.

Sarah hasn't shown up because she was murdered. They haven't yet found her carefully-posed body.

It's posed, sure, but that's all that's known. This feels sort of hidden to me, which wouldn't fit Locke's MO. There aren't enough fireworks. Besides, as I said, he's not a murderer. Any deaths would be accidental, and this is not.

Speaking of potential accidents:

Lisa has become more reclusive and less cheerful these days. Word is her mother past away and she is grieving.

There's a whole town to play with here. Best to use it.

I've tried to hint at him doing some absolutely horrific things before now. Part of the fun of Locke is being able to be a complete a*&~%~& if I want to, or worse. I was planning on seriously going off the deep end once Darkest Self hits too. Whether wickedness or desperation, both can take a person pretty far in what they'll do. I think it's going to be more cruel desperation than wickedness, though there's likely to be a level of sadistic pleasure in what he's doing once he does start going crazy like this.

Go as hard as you like with it. Blackmail, dismemberment, torture...I can think of more terrible things, but I'm not getting into that right now. Needless to say, he's done things that would traumatise a person, or just break them mentally altogether. I don't take him as a rapist, nor a murderer...though he might have accidentally killed someone once. No idea on that. But he can and will do utterly awful things, if pushed far enough. So let your imagination run wild. The goal is attention and acknowledgement, so bigger the spectacle, the better. Don't pull any punches.

Oh man, that's surprisingly good. Only he could tag his name somewhere and have everyone think it was supposed to be referring to a philosopher. It's probably the first thing he tried, too!

Alright, what about something less benign?

Say, what's the name of the local area? Has it been named yet? And does anyone want to help me come up with some urban legends or terrible things that have happened inside or outside the school, that I may or may not be responsible for? I have to have picked up a few names that mean bad things for people.

That incident with Eliza was Grand Guignol, which I already rolled for. Unless it's both moves somehow. It's how she became a laughing stock in the first place. The point isn't damage here, otherwise that would have been even worse.

Not surprised. I'll have to test things later. He may not be a vamp, but he's still a witch, and one obsessed with his studies - I'm sure there's something. If we can't get him through his head or his senses, we might be able to get him with his records. I think there's something up with Sam and Carrie too.

Welcome to my life, Eliza. It's ridiculous...could be worse, though. Regrettable measures aside, I'm glad to make the acquaintance of a lovely girl like you.

A sketch of Eliza appears below, walking about with the umbrella she uses to keep the sun off her. It's only rough, but it feels alive. The lines flow and glide across the paper, and it's easy to get lost in the linework. It shows an understanding of the subject most people just wouldn't have.

The first person "trips" in the same way. Only this time, after they walk through the door, and into a table, covering them in whatever was on it as it upends itself on them. They're mostly alright, of course. The next has the grand misfortune of slipping backwards. And then failing to get up. Four times. Anyone tries to help before Locke's done, they get "pulled in on top of them". And the last person to fall has the great misfortune of managing to "snag" their clothes on something, falling over as they try to loose themselves, with a great accompanying RIIIIIP.

Needless to say, Eliza's little fall was not the most dramatic anymore.

She didn't react in the slightest. She didn't react. "Alright b+!$$, you want me to try harder, I'll try harder." With that, he stomps her knee and pushes her in, making it look for all intents and purposes like she just fell. Since really, what else could have happened? She's perfectly healthy.

Sod it, I'm spending a string to bump that to a 10. That incident outside should have at least given me at least one...unless Eliza would be happy for everyone to know about what just happened out there.

Not wasting any time, he stomps across her and grinds his foot into her head, just for good measure. He backs off out of the room after one last stamp on her back. HARD.
Now, here's the fun part. Grand Guignol affects everyone who sees it happen, as well as the poor sucker that has to deal with it. They're treated as being Shut Down - with a 10+ roll, in this case. And I'm picking conditions. Eliza gets to be a Laughing Stock. Gotta love a good pratfall from the aloof girl. Everyone else gets Derisive. I'm satisfied with that.
Of course, if I don't get to apply the condition to the crowd, that's fine too. I can understand why. The crux of this is drawing Eliza's attention - drawing some jeering, or otherwise harshness from everyone in the room is a bonus.

Locke gives Eliza a pat on the back as she goes in. Just as a reminder...and because it would be fun if she reacted to someone who "wasn't there" again, right in front of everyone.

Needless to say, he backs off immediately after delivering said pat. Better not to be in reach.

"Now now darling, don't be shy..." Locke simply follows for the photo. It wasn't that easy to deal with him.

Locke is starting to wonder if he'll ever be able to stop grinning at this rate. The knowledge that he's a witch AND a killer, and a moment to get a picture of her feeding! This is too good. He gets ready with the phone cam again for the next shot. "Alright! Work it baby, work it!"

It's fun being able to say and do what you like and have nobody notice.

Plus, um...vampire. Kinda banking on the supernatural influence to alter circumstances a little. Needless to say, any normal person still wouldn't have remembered.

After Locke leaves the room, he counts to three, and pokes his head back in. Seems it worked. He's off the radar again. He watches Eliza, hopefully. Come on Fangs, don't let me down.

Matthew approaches, and conversation starts. Seems he's in on it. Doesn't remember Locke though - as expected. Wait, he's a witch? Oh man, this is good. Matt is very hastily added to the potential candidate list.

And then, the moment. Eliza starts trying to work her magic on Matt. Locke doesn't waste time grabbing his phone and taking a picture of the moment. Perfect.

Yeah, tell me if this is out of line, but I figure there's some strings to be had here. I love Blackmailer.

Also, I just got yet ANOTHER idea to mess with you. Unfortunately this one isn't a guaranteed thing, but then again, I've got others. Have fun figuring out what my plots are, let alone who they involve.

The run away roll was just about disappearing, mainly. Reactivating the thing that makes me impossible to notice. That's really going to be the point every time, right until someone triggers my Sex Move. Then I may actually have to run from them.

Frankly, I would be very amused to be invisibly pulling faces behind Eliza and going "Naahhh, you just aren't very attentive", but otherwise, I'll be looking for anything interesting going on. If was looking for anything right now, it would be a fancy camera. Or, perhaps a ballot box and a small table. Probably some paper and a pen too so that people can fill it up. It isn't exactly hard for me to get my hands on what I like. Not as if anyone can stop me.

Not that I'd blame you. Locke's literally beaten the crap out of people and ruined all their stuff - on the low end of things - and still not been remembered. They just blamed it on some burglar that's been in the news. The only reason he has any expectations for Eliza at all is because of what she is.

It's a shame, really. You commit atrocities that will traumatise someone for life, and they can't be bothered to remember the person that did it when they were right in front of them. Hopefully vampires have better manners than that.

If that's Shut Someone Down, then that's a 7. I think we'll lose a string on each other - that gives me 1 on her, and her none on me. I think that's fair. Unless she didn't end up taking that string on me, in which case I'm going to have to start with the conditions.
