Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Plume, I'm closing these tabs on my browser, so if you ever do get this game started again, please PM me. Thanks!
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
I'll be checking the Gameplay regularly, take your time...
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Guess that leaves me with Trailblazer.
+Wis: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 6) + 1 = 12
So, I've reduced the amount of time it takes to reach our destination.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"Well, I don't know really, except that the book happened to mention it and we're nearby..."
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"Anyone interested in going to the Telvanni Tower while we're in the neighborhood?"
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Spout Lore: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (2, 3) + 0 = 5
Huh? What's a Dagon?
Oh well, XP!
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
I'm assuming my character would know, since he grew up in this world, but what advantages/info could we get from one of Dagon's servants? And would it/he count as a daedra wrt the halberd?
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel examines the weapons and uniforms :
Mace Spout Lore: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (6, 3) + 0 = 9
Halberd Spout Lore: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (5, 6) + 0 = 11
Uniforms Spout Lore: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (1, 2) + 0 = 3
Oh well, XP!
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Yeah, I don't have any bonds, either. And, doing a quick search, it looks like I failed one Spout Lore. So, +3 XP for me?
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Actually, I think it's Plume's "move".
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Gesturing to her, Lionel says "Geetra-Na, come on, let's move it!" and continues climbing up the ladder.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"Is there a *door* up there?" Lionel shouts from below.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Seeing as Hisstla didn't give any opportunity for debate or discussion, Lionel rolls his eyes and follows her, hoping this new path won't lead to a dead end - literally as well as figuratively.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
In all the confusion, Lionel tries to quickly scan the room for anywhere a scroll might be hidden :
Discern Realities: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 6) + 1 = 13
So, 3 questions :
What should I be on the lookout for?
What here is useful or valuable to me?
What here is not what it appears to be?
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel shouts to Hisstla "Grab Geetra-Na and let's get out of here!", moving to grab the other end of Geetra-Na.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Plume - no problem, I understand.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Well, I Defy Danger...
Swimming with all his strength, Lionel attempts to swim out the way they came in :
Defy Danger(STR): 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (3, 5) + 2 = 10
And manages to do so with ease. He looks back at his companions, to see how they're doing...
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
With Altmer's attention focused on Hisstla and concentrating on focusing all that dark energy, Lionel attacks Hisstla, hoping to catch him off-guard and lose his concentration :
Hack & Slash: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 2 = 7
Doing
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 YES! (messy)
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Swirling his staff with great force, Lionel tries to deflect the attack :
Defy Danger (STR): 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 6) + 2 = 14
Woo-hoo, double ACES! Oops, sorry, wrong system...
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Not knowing if the chains are really solid, Lionel will try to hit them, hopefully preventing one or more of them from reaching Altmer :
Hack & Slash: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 6) + 2 = 9
Don't know if "damage" applies here, but if it does :
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 (messy)
Hopefully scattering some of them away from Altmer.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel moves in after Geetra-Na's attack, attacking with his staff (with reach) :
Hack & Slash: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 2 = 7
Doing
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5 (Messy)
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Hisstla - you get to roll damage with an 8.
Seeing that Geetra-Na is aiming, Lionel will not approach the figure.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
So, by "the one your party has come here to seek" I assume you mean Lacendur, Justicar of the Thalmor - but in your OP, you just mentioned his name, but not his relationship to the issue of the Elder scroll... - what do we know about that??? Thanks!
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Please forgive my unfamiliarity with the world, but what is an Altmer? And where can I find some info about this world's history and races?
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"I can't check for magic, but I hear nothing going on on the other side ."
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
I'd like Lionel to listen carefully at the door, but what Move is that? Discern Realities seems to be more about figuring out *what* is going on...
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
So, STR is added to all hand-held weapon damage?
If so, then my damage is a 6.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Plume wrote: There aren't meant to be any "turns" per se in Dungeon World... That's why I put "turn" in quotes. I should have asked, are you done reacting to all of our last actions. Anyway...
Lionel adds to the carnage by attacking with his staff :
Hack & Slash: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 3) + 2 = 11
Doing
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 4 "Messy"
Geetra-Na is adding a d4, and Hisstla is adding +2 to their damage - am I missing something?
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Is it our "turn" to attack?
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Defy Danger (STR): 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 2 = 10
Using his staff as a lever, Lionel heaves massively against the gargoyle, pushing it away from himself.
Plume - I've had DW GM's who preferred to narrate the results of a PC's roll - do you care? If so, I'll stop.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"Then I suggest we all attack one together, because if it is still conscious from a single attack, it will immediately start to regenerate!"
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel says "Anyone know how to keep a gargoyle from regenerating???"
Spout Lore: 2d6 + 0 ⇒ (3, 2) + 0 = 5 Not I...
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel says "There may be others coming up from the hallway! Should we retreat now?" but continues attacking the first gargoyle :
Hack&Slash: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 2 = 13
Doing
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 7 ("Messy")
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Ok, that sort of makes sense. Thanks, both of you!
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Ok, so this is the thing I don't "get" about DW : this is the second time in a game where my *very excellent roll* put a comrade in extreme danger. I get that the DM is free to "move" as a result of my move, but why should an excellent roll result in a crappy situation for someone else? I thought really bad things were only supposed to happen on a 6 or less.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Plume, please see Discussion...
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel attempts to deflect or push the creature off of him :
Defy Danger STR: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (6, 4) + 2 = 12
By rolling on his back, placing his feet on the abdomen of the gargoyle, and flipping the creature over his head! Then he gets up, preparing for his next attack.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Seeing as the creature is not settling down, Lionel attacks it with his quarterstaff, aiming for a cool part of the beast :
Hack&Slash: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 2 = 13 Woo-hoo!
Doing
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Using his Tiger's Claw technique, which makes the attack "Messy".
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"I would suggest that we wait until the stone has cooled down to the point where it cannot attack us anymore. That will also give us time to figure out if any of the chanters are going to come and investigate..."
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Ping? Come on guys, can we post a *little* faster?
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel looks at Histla, his eyes a bit wide, and says "You can melt stone?"
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"I don't know anything specific about animals, but what if we fed them...perhaps they would take a liking to us?"
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Lionel goes over to the center door, and listens at it carefully, and checks for traps before opening it just enough to look inside and see...???
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Tip-toeing down the corridor, Lionel gets to the doorway and cautiously looks inside to see...???
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Mentally flipping a 3-sided coin...
Which Door: 1d3 ⇒ 1
"Let's start with the left door" and Lionel walks up to it...
I assume that my previous "What here is not what it appears to be?" covers traps on the doors, or do I have to roll again to check that? If not...
...and quietly opens it to see...???
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Oh, nevermind - I didn't notice that your first roll was an 11.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
Geetra-Na - on a 9, you only get to ask one question. Specify one so Plume can answer it.
Human (Redguard) Monk 1; STR+2,DEX+0,CON+1,INT+0,WIS+1,CHA-1
"Anyone have any preferences - left, right, or forward?"
