Shuddering Pox. The disease that laid low Nessus, the First City, shuddering pox has claimed more lives than any other disease that has ever torn through Rûl. The mere whisper of an outbreak incites panic, sending people fleeing for safety. The pox presents as a rash of bloody, red blisters that break easily to release streams of runny fluid. Broken blisters leave permanent craters in the flesh so that even people who manage to survive it bear its marks for the rest of their lives.
The disease leaves the creature with hideous scars. It can be cured only with time and strength, but the black cap mushroom is known to help.

So I brought up the concern on the Google+ group, and while we're awaiting the AL Mods clarification, the general consensus is as follows:
S7 T1/2 + HC, the Death Curse is required to play.
If you don't want to play with the Death Curse for your PC, [these] are the ways to avoid that.
Starting Jan 2018, the Death Curse is no longer required to play in anything except S7 T1/2 + HC. If your PC ever does an Opt Out for the Death Curse, this PC can never play S7 T1/2 + HC. If you want a PC to play S7 T1/2 + HC after Jan 2018, you must Opt In to the Death Curse rules.
This means that we can continue to run S7 T1/2 modules in the future, but every player who signs up for a game must Opt In their PC to the Death Curse rules for those adventures. And if they ever Opt Out their PC, that specific PC can't play those adventures.
I hope that makes sense.

I like the idea of going a bit faster, similar to how the LMoP game was run.
I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stick with a full hardback, and completing this book by, say, March fits rather nicely with the timeline I had in mind for my games.
