Character Sheet

GM, how would you feel about some sort of Psionic focused fighting style? Or are those powers not widespread enough to have their own.

Character Sheet

Fair enough, sorry to hear that.

I've got no quarrels with time travel, and I'd love to get in on whatever you're running!

Character Sheet

That sounds great to me! Maybe in the meantime we could try to look for one or two more folks to pad out the roster?

Should have time to post tonight. Also heard in another server that Kazmanaught (Krema’s player) is alive and well but at a camp way out in the middle of nowhere with no internet for at least a month. Hopefully we’ll be able to expect him back?

Been exhausted from work lately. Turns out 10 hour long field days under hot prairie sun tire a person out! Hopefully I’ll be able to post tomorrow, probably friday at latest.

Character Sheet

Legion advances alongside Rudo, ready for anything.

Character Sheet

"Subterranean quadrupeds."

Legion nods, "Understood. Let's get ready to move, Lieutenant, and do what we do best"

Character Sheet

I'm still here, just haven't felt like Legion had a ton to contribute.

Character Sheet

Legion gives the governor a stern look, their voice low and as close to anger as many of the crew have heard, "The doctor is of equal rank to myself, and will be treated as such. You will ask her what she wishes to do, and address her with her proper station while you ask. Understood? Otherwise I will be forced to file this as an official breach of protocol. I do not want to do that. Do you want that?"

They had a fierce respect for all the members of their crew, especially those who had risen through the ranks to command an equal station to themselves while serving a vital function aboard the ship.

Character Sheet

Legion accompanies Lt. Krema. Other members of the team were well suited to gathering information. They were not.

Character Sheet

Legion gives a crisp salute, "Affirmative, Captain."

Character Sheet

Athletics: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (15) + 12 = 27

Legion keeps doing what they were doing, flipping switches that only they know exist and turning to liquid nanites to reach otherwise inaccessible systems.

An old maintenance hatch in the engine room’s cieling flies open and Legion tumbles out, muttering to themself with a slim smile, ”Excellent. That had a slim chance of dropping me into the reactor core.”

They look at Krema, nodding to the vesk, ”More power has been diverted. Whether the ship’s entertainment centers will come back online is uncertain, but you’ve got more energy to work with.”

Maintenence panel access, success!

Character Sheet

Legion lets out a rare laugh, ”Ask yourself lieutenant, who do you think put the battery there in the first place?”

Character Sheet

Athletics: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 12 + 1 = 23

Legion spends the round in the bowels of the ship, rerouting power currents to get Krema some more juice to work with.

Succeeded on maintenance panel access, Krema gets to reroute power to another system!

Character Sheet

Laser Cannon, Computer: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 1 = 16

Legion tries to fire off a laser blast at the weapon but has about as much luck as Rudo.

Character Sheet

Not a lot of chief mate actions I can take. Could I hop on a gun this round?

Character Sheet

Athletics: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 12 + 1 = 15

Legion tries to squeeze some more power out of the ship's systems for Lt. Krema, but can't quite manage to.

Argh, failed at maintenance panel access.

Character Sheet

Legion spends a lot time sparring with any crewmembers who are amenable to it, taking advantage of their newly developed fluid form to get an extra edge to their already formidable combat skills.

Surprisingly though, they spend a fair amount of time among the crew, trying to shuck their normally aloof demeanor. Whether it's helping Krema in the engine room, swapping war stories with Rudo, or trying Adelstein's newest batch of food, they find themself starting to enjoy talking to people more than they expected.

Character Sheet

Legion takes a bite of their nutrient paste before nodding, ”The pie incident was a debacle, that cannot be denied. I, for one, enjoyed my part in the mission. Criminal goons are a refreshing opponent.”

Character Sheet

Not a bad idea. Legion's not great at talking to folks but they could probably pull rank well enough.

Character Sheet

Legion nods, "Excellent idea. I can turn into liquid, you could smuggle me inside in a pot or something."

Character Sheet

"You, Adelstein, should lay low here. If Ionescu truly does have it out for you, the last thing we want is him to get his hands on you."

They nod to the other people, "The rest of us should head for Chicago."

Character Sheet

Legion nods to Krema, ”Excellent work lieutenant. Already proving yourself a valuable addition to the crew. I say we try to find this Ionescu. If infiltration is required,” They stop and hold up their hand, smiling very slightly as their hand melts into a formless mass of nanites before reforming just as quickly, ”I’ve managed to reacquire certain talents I was originally equipped with. Should prove invaluable to covert operations.”

Character Sheet

"Agreed."

They think for a moment before answering Adelstein's question, "The activism I've taken part in has not always been on the straight and narrow. I have not had any official dealing with ARM, but several of the groups I have been a part of before I joined the Space Force had some level of ARM support. I am not familiar with the organization directly, but the connection is tangentially present."

Character Sheet

Legion admires the scenery, "It is beautiful here, doctor. Who's cabin is this, if you don't mind my asking?" As they take in the view, they say rather unprompted to anyone who will listen, "My home when I'm off duty is on Ganymede, in a little android enclave there. There is a stark beauty to it's ice sheets, and plenty of life in the subglacial seas, but it certainly lacks in greenery aside from our hydroponics."

They quickly pivot away from their reminiscing to the task at hand, "It's also possible that Adelstein is just the beginning of a larger scheme. A probing attack to test our mysterious malefactor's capabilities, and perhaps to find the limits of the Terran Security Agency's."

Pausing for a moment before continuing, Legion says, "The use of the ARM in particular seems too strange to be a coincidence. If they wanted to get you in trouble Adelstein, I am certain there are more dangerous groups. If they are as adept as they seem to be, they must know of my views on the necessity of android liberation, hence my concern at the choice of ARM."

Character Sheet

”We might do well to get moving. Having more of us here together might draw some undue suspicion.”

Character Sheet

Legion nods slowly.

”ARM. Android Rights Movement. Noble goals, but muddied by a lack of clarity.”

They collect their thoughts for a moment, ”They say they got a tip from someone. My guess is, it’s not the government setting you up, but someone with an outside agenda and some substantial resources. What that agenda could be, I have no idea. Now, I see a few possible paths forward. First, we try to sort out who could have it out for you enough to want to send you away for colluding with radicals.”

Legion pauses again, adjusting their outfit slightly. ”Another option, certainly riskier but not necessarily mutually exclusive with the first, we try to get in contact with ARM, see if they know who you are. Best case they do and are willing to spill who it is. Worst case…well, we see how far they’ve fallen from the freedom fighters they used to be.”

Character Sheet

Legion-12 takes a seat next to David, "Well, Adelstein, I think you'll find I'm both the worst person and the best person on the crew you could've called. Let's start with the worst. There is no way I will sugarcoat things, treat you with kid gloves. So I'll say that if you really were treating with terrorists here on Earth, you were an idiot, plain and simple. Now for the best. I might be the most willing on the crew, or at least within command, to work off the record and do whatever needs to be done to get you out of this situation. My duty as a commander to keep those within my jurisdiction safe extends beyond the confines of duty. So, before we proceed, I need you to lay out exactly what you know about what you got yourself involved with."

Character Sheet

"Well, he claims he's being set up for material assistance to terrorists. Terran Security Agency's after him. Beyond that, nothing. He was vague in his message to me, hence by desire to find him as quickly as possible."

Character Sheet

Legion gives a crisp but casual salute, "Knightgale, Doctor, good to see you both. I mentioned it to Knightgale, but Adelstein has found himself in trouble. I would like to keep this off the radar for as long as we can to properly ascertain all the details of the situation. I hope that will not be a problem?"

With that, they explain the approximate location that Adelstein gave them and get to searching. Sending another message ran the risk of raising eyebrows with central command, something they did not want to happen.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Character Sheet

"Unexpected seeing you here. I'm en route to a situation that Adelstein has gotten himself into. If you want to help him out and are willing to work, let me say, somewhat off the record for the time being, you're welcome to join me."

Character Sheet

Legion pinches the bridge of their nose, the nanite patterns on their skin glowing brightly in lieu of a deep breath of frustration.

The android thinks for a moment, ”Dammit Adelstein, what did you get yourself mixed up in? If it’s terrorists…well, better hope they’re good ones at least. Some sort of…Liberation Front or People’s Army, ideally.”

They turn to Krema, ”And there you have the…well, the unforeseen exigencies of command. need to deal with this. You’re welcome to come along as well as you’re willing to keep things off the official radar until I get whatever the hell is going on sorted out. Adelstein’s a valuable member of the crew, unlikely to be truly working with terrorists. While I rarely make use of it, his talent for cooking is a cornerstone of ship morale.”

With that, they turn the shuttle towards the theme park where they intend to give Adelstein a thorough chewing out before doing everything they can to help the man. A commander has to do what a commander has to do.

Character Sheet

"No idea. Send it through anyway. I want to see what this is about."

Character Sheet

Before leaving
Legion shakes their head, "Worry not for my sake. It is true that these things are illegal, yet it is also true that when certain darker elements of a government engage in said actions, it it exists beyond the reach of law. Were there recourse to be taken, I would have done so already."

In the shuttle
Legion-12 answers the call, "Commander Legion-12 speaking, accompanied by Lt. Reginald-Zretaden."

Character Sheet

Yep, each of gets a primary and a secondary, whose prominence in scenes and missions can vary depending on the story and who you want to play. For instance, my primary is Legion-12…

Character Sheet

They crack a rare smile at Krema’s appreciation for efficiency, ”Your commitment to maximal efficiency is commendable. If you are so inclined, you may dismiss with addressing my rank in casual conversation. I, too, am committed to efficiency, but I am only where I am due to prowess in combat. Unless we find ourselves out in a combat situation, I have no use for titles. Odd as it is to find one of my viewpoint within the military, but I see hierarchy as a relic of more primitive times.”

They pause, adjusting their light armor. Extremely lithe and somewhat muscular, their body bears scars from many battles, even a few from where cybernetics seem to have been removed.

”Well, much of my time before serving in the Space Force has been memory-scrubbed and classified, so my frame of reference is more limited than most. Nevertheless, my second tour of duty is a particular highlight of mine. My ship was engaged with a group of D’Naki privateers when a small squad of saboteurs in a modified shipping container were detected en route to the ship. Their scanners would have picked up any life support systems, so due to my lack of any need to breathe I was dispatched with nothing save for a combat knife, a set of thruster jets, and a dozen detonator charges."

Legion-12 laughs slightly, "The look on their faces as I blasted a hole in the side of their vessel was memorable."

Legion-12’s title would be commander.

Character Sheet

Legion-12 checks over the last few instances of engine output reports on their datapad, "All systems seem nominal. Excellent. Good work, Lieutenant. I have made it a point to increase my engagement with crewmembers, looking for optimal returns on rapport. Let me see," they flick through their datapad, switching from system monitoring to a list of corporate icebreakers, "What is you favorite childhood memory?"

They scowl, realizing they would be unable to answer the question if asked, "Disregard that. Inappropriate question. Hm, what has been your favorite experience while serving with Space Force?"

Character Sheet

Legion-12 found themselves unusually shaken by the encounter with the psychic beings. The brutality which with they had treated their crew brought back...memories. Dark memories. Memories of a time that Legion had thought they'd forgotten.

What's more, they felt that they had not prepared themselves enough for the exigencies of command. Leading by example and action along couldn't work anymore. They needed at least some sort of rapport with their crew.

They wouldn't let any more of the crewmembers under their command befall the same fate as the ones that the illithids had taken.

First up, sparring and rapport-building with the security officer.

"Officer Claudius, once you have concluded your business, I would like to speak with you. Be prepared for some sparring."

Character Sheet

Not off the top of my head.

Character Sheet

We could maybe try to recruit one or two more folks before we start on season 2? Do some RP on the ship in the meantime or something.

Character Sheet

My levelling should be mostly done. Been grappling with a pretty resilient cold for a week or so now so I'm a bit out of it, hopefully I'll be on the mend before too long and can get back into things,

Character Sheet

Oops, I had thought Rudo was.

Character Sheet

"A reasonable position. Do what you do best."

Character Sheet

"These things seem psychic! Dr. Yusil, mind taking a look at the mechanism?"

Character Sheet

Legion moves in, striking once again with brutal strength and deadly accuracy as they say, "Chances of victory are increasing exponentially."

Attack v KAC: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Crit Part 2!: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (5, 5) + 14 = 24

Character Sheet

I'm still game! We could maybe think about bringing on a few more players? With only three of us, momentum can really slow down when people aren't as active.

Character Sheet

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Crit!: 2d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 2) + 14 = 22

In a stunning reversal of their previous luck, Legion-12 sends a lethally accurate blast of hungry nanites at the illithid.

Character Sheet

Legion advances forward, a nanite cloud enshrouding their body as they try to lay into the illithid with a precision blast of nanites.

Swarm Strike v KAC: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Character Sheet

Legion-12 nods to Yusil, "If something starts feeling off, say the word."

Character Sheet

Legion furrows their eyebrows. "A strange formation. I have little skill with devices, unfortunately."
