I don't mind if they use their phone to look up different PDF's like you would in a book, but the texting between husband and wife (one plays on Friday the other on Saturday due to their kids) is going to drive me and the other GM insane.

He'll leave his phone on vibrate, on the table so it shakes the whole table...

Both constantly complain about being skipped and "what's happening?".

I find texting at the table rude, and selfish. I agree with Ringtail's solution.

I have a player that will hurl dice across the room if they continually roll bad.

Another player uses certain pink d6's for rolling stats.

I constantly am rolling the same two d20's in my hand like meditation balls. Been using the same d20's for 5 years now, player's hate them.

Another player will "curse" your dice if he touches them (you'll go from rolling well to ones and twos)

Where you sit makes all the difference to what your dice roll.

Breaking Of The Fellowship (Lord of the Rings)...

Mar De Emocions by Tinku- think native Latin music... however my Ipod might shuffle to something like R.E.M, Enya, Classical music, Mythos (new age), to finally something under the electronica/dance/trance gerne (ATB, Tiesto...)

I hadn't even heard about this game until now (thank you Stardust for the info)... I've played all the Sims, SimCities and off shoots... I can hardly wait for it to come out.

What gets me steamed:
As a GM or player- talk of World of Warcraft. I can't stand it!

Player assuming they know the monster's/enemy's AC

Talking while I read/describe the area/enemy/etc

Player's taking phone calls in the heat of battle and leaving the rest of the group instead of calling the person back.

Players constantly complaining about how this and that sucks about their character/NPCs

Players trying to figure out their damage or whatever dice roll and another player plays for them

This one really gets me- players that want to kill their PC (whether I'm the GM or not)

I know there's more things out there that bug me, but that's all I can think of right now.

I GM a game on Friday. I play on Saturday. We occasionally play during the week. All Pathfinder rules with 3.5 sprinkled in it...

I'm sorry, as a comic book fan- NO. When I first saw the picture I thought it was a joke.

Our group on Friday nights has me (the female GM) and 5 dudes. On Saturday I don't GM, but we have 5 dudes to 2 females.

We all get along, typical comments and jokes are made almost every time (two consider themselves dirty old men... in reality they are some of the nicest people I know).

I can't imagine playing in an all girl group...

I collect comic books, action figures and love Pathfinder's RPG- proudly I am a geek.

That's a cool cover!

I remember reading that Harsk drinks tea so not to dull his senses...

But what type of tea does he drink?

When our group wandered through the adventure, we had a cleric and druid who were really powerful and an Elemental Savant (our wizard) who was also extremely powerful. (Using every source book we could get our hands on...)

We almost died every night. I can't imagine going through it with out any casters. But, I suppose it could be done.

Good ideas, talked with my GM about the suggestions posted and we will be trying some...

In the beginning of the Council of Thieves AP, I tried to make it more fair (the value of items were taken out gold we found), slipped away for that... might be going back to that...

Our group has let certain people die in the past... (evil laughter).

Seriously though, thanks for the tips.

If you follow "Need Before Greed" then yes. Not everyone believes/plays this way.

Just because a player chooses the rogue class doesn't mean the character is good at locks and traps. He could be focused in sneaking and pickpocketing.

So far I've been playing devils advocate, but this is a point where I would like more clarification. Is the rogue in question just taking loot to accumulate wealth but not actually using it? If so, this is not necessarily a problem but possibly a roleplay angle. Or, is the rogue taking loot purely to deny it to the other characters? This is a problem that needs to be dealt with.

In the first case, the solution could be as simple as having the other characters offer to buy the items from the rogue. This satisfies the rogue's need for loot while putting the items back into play and into the most effective hands.

In the second case, the player is acting as a spoiler, actively trying to sabotage the other characters. This would be an issue that requires sitting down with the player and having a little chat about being part of a group and what that means.

He doesn't pickpocket, just sneaks- comments on how poorly the other rouges are compared to his open device skill.

I though about this for a while after Freesword brought it up, I it's a combination of hording goods and just wanting to keep them from other players, leaning more towards the hording/not using side of things.

One other thing.. does anyone say anything to this guy when he just takes all the loot? If he's never made aware that it's not acceptable or is ruining other peoples' good times he'll just keep on doing it.. especially if he sees it as being in his character's nature. Now, if the guy is just greedy as a person and needs to have all the imaginary swords to himself to feel like he's cool, you probably don't need that at the table.

Good point. It's funny, he told the Alchemist and wizard not to roll because "when do you get in combat?" I guess someone needs to tell him the same thing.

Minor note though- when I ran the Rise of the Runelords, he gained the most greed and gluttony points.

Thanks for the comments!

I think that he thinks that his character is being cool, mainly spending time in shadows and rolling disguise checks none of us care what he looks like and it's during weird times, which is amusing because a player who left our group would do that and the rouge's player wouldn't stop making fun at him.

Other character's that he plays (we play on Friday and Saturday) seem to be, well, lazy.

He claims that the rouge is NG. Earlier on in the game while combat carried on, he stood in the hall way talking to the NPC we had with us.
Now he want to become an assassin.

I'm the treasure keeper for this adventure. I like the suggestion that Mauril has about the strict wealth system, going to have to give that a try.

Usually those who benefit from the particular items we find roll percentage dice for them, the fighter and my barbarian rolled and then he happily announced that he beat us both...

Thank's for letting me rant :)

Alright-

Normally the fighter type's would get the thing that would enhance them right?

What happens when the rouge, who barely does anything (usually we travel with another rouge in the group because he won't even unlock and untrap things), takes the thing that would enhance the Fighter or the Barbarian?

The rouge is a strong enough character, good stats and all that- so it's not like the character sucks.

This rouge has "taken" things from, unique items that the GM has thrown into the game that would benefit the group that he does not even use.

So, what happens when one or two PCs want to kill another PC in the town of Westcrown?

Our group is horrible when it comes to character deaths. I'm fortunate to be playing in the Council of Thieves game instead of running it, and am the current treasure recorder.

Treasure that is found and given out is recorded under the character's name in my note book. When two of our party members died (for example), and they wanted to bring in some one new, those party items were divided up between the group, their other gear either went with them or was divided amongst all of us.

We are playing through the Council of Thieves with three different individuals for each player, so over balancing the game isn't a problem.

In passed games, the treasure that the party earned were the items earned off dead party members- the adventure seemed to be lacking magic items and they never came across any large cities to buy anything, so...

But, we've always collected treasure off of dead comrades.

Our group allows human to be proficient with a weapon of their choice, if they get martial weapon prof., then they may choose an exotic, non-race weapon for free.

I really like to ability for half-elves to have two favored classes.

Before the game was "Pathfinderized" I never played a human, there was no desire to do so.

I would so love a book on the Fey of Golarion. Count me in for the Classic Fey Revisited. I also like the Mythic Monsters idea...

My problem I've had running a game with 7+ people is that they loose interest quickly. I like the suggestions above and have tried some in the past. At one point (when we played with the Spell Compendium and other source books) things were really bogged down. If a player wasn't ready on their turn they were skipped.

I greatly relied on the other players when rule related questions, spell questions and "what page is this on?" questions pop up which helps speed up combat.

However some of my players are easy distracted and that slows down things like you wouldn't believe.

If there are cohorts, they go when the PC goes, if they go at all. Monsters all go on the same initiative.

If I have a monster or a bunch of the same type hit multiple players (like cleave/great cleave) I roll the damage once. This seems to speed up combat.

Sorry if I regurgitated stuff from above...
