I just got a random batch of shiny new mostly iconics. They don't seem soft, so I am hoping they are fully cured. That being said, the detail is lower than I was expecting. I think that I am finally learning my lesson about ND.

I eagerly await this decision, because this product is why I dropped my Pathfinder rulebook subscription. If the bulk of this product is Society legal I will certainly revisit my decision.

I think that as long as the pre-gens are available online for download (ideally for free, since the work's already been done) they really don't need to be in the printed modules. The exception being modules for characters level 1 or 2, then they should be in there.

I received the book through USPS on Oct 23rd. Now consider that the book traveled from Washington to Texas. As I said this only so you have a reference of how the subscription can work. That's across what, 3-4 shipping zones and you got it two days after release? That's not shabby at all, especially with the free .pdf offsetting shipping.

Same thing here. I sent an email expressing my frustration, informing Amazon that this product was already released, and linked this thread. I got as a response: "Thank you for writing to us at Amazon.com. I apologize for any misunderstanding about the delivery estimate for your order. We rely on the publisher for release date information. Our most recent information is that "Pathfinder Roleplaying Game" would be published on November 11. It appears that this release has been delayed. We do not have any information on the updated release date at this time. As soon as the item has been released, we'll be able to ship it to you. As per our standard policy, we do not charge you for items until they enter the shipping process, so you will not be charged for this item until it is available and we have shipped it to you. To help make up for the delay, I've upgraded the shipping method to Standard Shipping shipping at no extra charge. The new estimate for delivery is November 17 - November 19." Yeeeah... way to not even read my email. So... tell me more about this "subscription" thing...

This is perhaps a stupid question, but are there any plans to release a players guide, ideally with a price point hovering ~$20? I've already pre-ordered this (from Amazon) and will likely get the *.pdf when it comes out. My players, however, are poor and whiny college students who think nothing of dropping the money on frivolous items such as food, beer, and Xbox games but will make a right howling over the purchase of this fine tome. I think a players guide would be a fine way to bridge that gap, and if (gods help us all) they GM later, well, its always nice to have a spare copy of the rules. I'd personally purchase a players guide too, just to keep the core rulebook clutched tightly in my greedy claws.

Thanks! I have, and I like it a lot! I've started adding in classes and races for my campaign, but I have found one small problem with it - Open Office hates it. This isn't a problem for me (I use excel), but half my party runs a *nix distro and Open Office. I suppose I can just tell them that its their problem, and they can fix my (inferior) sheet on their own :P

sheet found at mediafire This is a sheet I cobbled together. It works well for single-classed characters, but I can't get it to work right for multi-class. Is there a better sheet out there, or does someone know how to beat this one into line? Thanks in advance!

That's how I run it - if you play a race that has a certain weapon proficiency and take a class that gives you that same weapon proficiency you are allowed to take a free Weapon Focus in one of those over-lapping weapon proficiencies. It doesn't seem too out of balance (though the +1 is +5% to hit, and a bigger deal at low levels), but I think it makes sense. |
