"Well, I'm glad you are willing to talk." Lakimaki approaches a few steps closer to Zamir. "We know that you work for the Aspis. To be honest, I find them to be a vile organization. I expect that the only reason you work for them is out of expediency. You see them as a way to get what you want." Lakimaki pauses for a breath. "But, you see. I don't think that the Aspis are actually giving you what you want. For example, how do you think we found you? Did the Aspis protect you? I think not. Instead, I have a counter proposal. Have you considered the Pathfinder Society?" GM, any checks yet?

Lakimaki steps to the front of the group. "Hold, sir. I think you are mistaken about our intentions. Of course, it is easy to be mistaken. You are hiding underground in a back room, isolated from the rest of the world. And here we come, a group of who knows what... Are we here to rob from you? Are we here to harm you? Or even kill you? Yes, those are the same questions that would be running through my mind as well." Lakimaki puts his hands behind his back and starts to pace back and forth in front of the group. "But rest assured. None of those are our intentions. No. Not at all. Instead, we have come to discourse and conversate with you. Unfortunately some of your guards were not quite so willing to let us in. But now that we're here, let's just talk." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 I guess we can try the Diplomatic route first.

Lakimaki moves to where he can get a clear shot at the creature. He fumbles with the crossbow while he tries to get it ready. Move action to move and then to wield the weapon. I don't have a BAB >= 1 so I can't get the weapon out while moving.

Lakimaki watches the interaction from the doorway. He reacts in shock when the monks attack. "Seriously? We're just asking questions." Lakimaki shakes his head in disbelief and moves to the other side of the doorway then loads his crossbow just in case it's needed.

Lakimaki helps get the camp in order. "Since it's still pretty much the middle of the night, I think it make sense for everyone to go back to sleep. I think it is pointless to try to track the bandits at night. I think we should consider ourselves lucky that we all survived."

"Whew! Well now, that was fun. Wasn't it? I haven't been in a little dust up like that since... well, I guess it was only last week and in a different town." Lakimaki walks through the camp, looking around to see if anyone is injured or anything broken. He stops at the bandit's axe handle at Brady's feet. "You did this? Like, you just grabbed the axe from the guy and snapped it in half? Wow. Remind me to never get in an arm wrestling match with you." Lakimaki continues around the camp, casually making his way to Jonathan. He peaks at his bag and wiggles his eyebrows towards him. "What about you? Missing anything?" The sparkle in Lakimaki's eye makes it clear that he already knows the answer.

Not that it matters this time, but don't forget my Temporal Celerity on initiative rolls. Out of the corner of his eye Lakimaki notices shadowy figures in the bushes around the camp. He avoids showing any outwards signs of alarm at first and quickly considers the circumstances. Everyone else is asleep. If the figures mean any harm, and he's certain they do, they will be upon everyone way too quickly. The issue decided, Lakimaki begins shouting. "Wake up everyone! We've got company and they don't look friendly!" He kicks a log in the fire, increasing the flames while he continues shouting. [b]"Grundy, Madcap! Wake up! You too Brady!" On watch I would have kept a bolt in my crossbow. Did I have time to do that before I noticed the shadowy figures?

After eating a small plate of food Lakimaki jumps off his rock. "Well gents. The food was wonderful. I mean, it was really good. Not as good as what my Ma makes. Or my Pa either. They both cook. I mean, really cook well. One time they had a cooking contest with each other. They were trying to outcook the other, not just in how good the food was, but how much they could make." Lakimaki barely stops talking as he walks around the camp and hands the plate back to one of the travelers. "You see, they invited my whole town to our house to see how many of them they could feed. The local temple thought it was hilarious so the priests kept casting spells to provide food supplies." While he's talking Lakimaki pulls his bedroll free from his pack and lays it out on the ground. "My parents, they were cooking for 8 days straight before the mayor came in and called the contest off. He said that 'Tis mighty good of y'all to be cooking all this here food for the lot of us. But many of my fellow townspeople, see, they just stopped work'n and they's just sitting around wait'n for more food. And that's not good'n for the town. So, and therefore, I'm declar'n, by my power of authority, that you's both winners!' and then everyone in town cheered. Someone called for a celebration party but the mayor frowned them down." By this time Lakimaki is reclining on his bedroll, his hands folded behind his head while he stares at the twilit sky. "So, Grundy, you're taking first watch? I'll take second." He winks at Jonathan.

"Well, my fine orcish friend. The whole effect is amazing. I mean, at one point..." Lakimaki continues telling Grundy about the feast while he marches on towards the camp. He bows deeply when the man greets him. "Greetings to you as well. My name is Lakimaki and these are my twin brothers." He gestures at Grundy and Brady. The look on the man's face causes him to laugh. "Nah! Just kidding. They aren't my brothers. Just traveling friends. So what are you all doing here?" Lakimaki walks right past the man, smiling and nodding at everyone. He has his thumbs tucked into his belt as he strides into the camp. "I mean, you guys must be traveling somewhere. Could it be from the north? Or maybe from the south? Oh! Or maybe it is to the north or to the south! Now there's an idea. But you see, I'm just cardinally challenged so I don't even know which way is up. Most of the time, that is." By this time he's walked a complete circuit of the camp and finds and empty rock to sit on. He plucks a long blade of grass and begins to chew on it. "Did you say you have plenty to spare?"

Lakimaki walks down the path with the others around him. "Ok. So it was a pretty interesting little festival they were having. Of course, when I say festival, I mean party, but a big party, with the whole village involved. Well I guess not the whole village. You know there were a couple old codgers who lived just on the edge of town. They never liked to join in for parties. I guess that was too much fun for them." He pauses to take a long breath and the continues. "As I was saying, it was an interesting festival, uh, party. But the main big deal, was the roast dragon! Yeah, seriously. The whole festival, uh, party, was around roasting a whole dragon. They had the scaly thing on a gigantic spit over a huge fire in the village square. It was quite a site. But then, it wasn't really a dragon. That's the best part. It was just a bunch of cows and pigs that they bundled up into a dragon shape. It fooled the kids though. I guess some of the adults..." At the sight of the camp Lakimaki stops talking. He hears a rustle in the bushes to his right where Jaimie was walking and turns his head in that direction. There's nothing there. He flips back to the left, where Thyste and Maelstrom were and sees nothing but the leaves moving. Behind him Grundy and Brady, the half-orc twins, as he likes to think are standing there. "Hmm. Well. I guess we should go introduce ourselves to those fine people." He continues down the trail towards the campsite. I assume Maelstrom has the scepter.

Lakimaki meanders around town just killing time and buying some travelling gear. Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 On the second afternoon he spots Maelstrom in a shop and runs up to him. "Oh! I know you. You know? I mean, right? We were just meeting with the venture-captain two days ago. Right? Anyway. Did you notice the route that we're taking? It's the long way. I suppose that because... well you know." He looks around at the crowd around them just to make sure no one is listening. "You know, right? I mean, to give you know who a chance for you know what, right?" After one more glance around, he winks at Maelstrom.

An energetic halfling stands to the side while the venture-captain speaks. At several different moments he raises his hand halfway up then drops it down to his side. Finally, when Mihir stops talking, he's about to ask a question when the fox-like halfling beats him to it. He wrinkles his nose in annoyance. When it's clear that the others are done speaking, he steps forward. "Yes, venture-captain. We have questions. Lots of questions. Lots of important questions about this important mission. If you don't mind, that is. I mean, our important questions." He stops to take a breath. "So first off, when are we leaving? By that I mean, when will we need to assemble and get our stuff together so that we can depart on our journey? Will it be later today? Tomorrow? A few days from now? Or maybe some other time? We really need to know. And after you answer that, I'm sure we'll have many other questions." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Too much talking to notice anything, I guess.
