OK,

The writing's been on the wall for a while now. I've been foolishly hoping i could fix things. But, it's pretty clear that I've bungled this thing so badly that most of you are only interested out of habit. So, let's just drop the other shoe.

I'm sorry. I failed as a GM. I had a cool concept, and thought I could make the idea work. And, well, cool concepts don't really make a successful game, do they? My skill level at doing this thing wasn't really what I thought it was.

So, I'm hammering the final nail in the coffin of this thing. Let's call this game a wrap, and we can all walk away.

NO! Please don't close the game. You did an awesome job as a GM. I am so sorry we haven't posted as often. The madness in me and Havoc's lives has finally calmed down and we were so excited to start posting again. When we checked to see what was going on with the game, we saw this and we were totally crushed. This is an awesome game, please give us one more chance. You have no reason to apologize, we do.

Her eyes meet Baolin and she gives him a slow and hesitant nod. She searches his face for the same worry she is feeling. She closes her eyes and gently places two cool fingers on the forehead of Chao Shi. Before beginning her search and journeying through his mind, Jade Moon silently reaches out to Diakitsu. "Great Mother Fox, keeper of the sacred den, hear my cry and my plea for this man! Spare him of the shades of insanity and preserve his fragile mind."

Jade Moon continues her story as she weaves a bit of magic into it hoping to muddle her mind.

"Humans left the old ways because of how abhorrent your ways were. If that's how you want to return the world then there will always be those who will stop you! A fox isnt't afraid of a spider!"

Jade Moon draws her sword and begins a song of strength and defiance.

Jade Moon stands towards the back of the group as they enter the town. She feels the weight of the town pressing on her. She can almost imagines that after time it must be this weight of of depression that had caused the homes to buckle.

Upon hearing the Qinglong speak she feels an uneasiness that is hard to describe. By all appearances the Mayor was being truthful to them yet she trusted the dragons's opinion as she subtly prepares a throwing dagger and brings a spell to her lips if need be.

Did we ever decide what to do with the loot? If possible I'd like to take one of the long swords.

I think the village would be a good idea, I need to find ninja for my future spy ring after all. Hayashi get to work building my information web...err fox den yea that's better we already have spider issues.

Jade Moon calmly picks up the bow left by Jian Xi and draws an arrow and lays it across the bow. "You were given two options one was repentance the other death...I did not choose this way." She draws back on the string and releases in a smooth motion only to have the arrow deflect off one of th many trees in the way.

"We wouldn't allow it you'd be under our protection. Already your lord has failed to kill us on multiple occasions. It's only a matter of time before we go after him as well."

Jade Moon says continuing to talk to Jiao Xi. She continues her song by switching to an instrumental piece using her Erhu.

Continuing her mental manipulation of Jiao Xi Jade Moon attempts one more trick she casts a spell causing her voice to become even more clear and pleasant.
Another quick spell and she begins to whisper and yet her words are heard by the bandit leader as she begins to work on her.

"I implore you to cast down your weapons and surrender. There is no honor in a death like this, you can see you're out matched. Two of your men are already dead and the others will quickly follow them to an unmarked grave never to be mourned. What do you fight for? What have you lost to so push you to this current path? Perhaps you could lose a few enemies and gain a few friends; friends that would reciprocate your loyalty. I do not seek to destroy you but the contrary."

"Alright then..." Jade Moon whispers to herself as she makes a few arcane symbols and screams and cries of pain suddenly erupt from the opposite edge of the camp. As if every soul they'd murdered were suddenly crying out for their murders blood.

As soon as the screams begin to die down Jade Moon begins to sing a song of loss, pain, and forgotten honor. A song that brings hope to an honorable man and yet a feeling of defeat to the honorless.

I've got sleep still. I can also use ghost sound plus dancing lights to cause some makeshift hauntings maybe of the people they've murdered.

Jade Moon lets a gasp out between painted lips at the appearance of the spiders. Wasting little time and with a simple magicians flourish she produces a dagger seemingly from thin air which she flicks at the remaining spider.

Jade Moon looks over the spiders activating a simple spell allowing her to see magical auras, she is both horrified and intrigued by these dark beings. She thought of was the magic in their creation could be turned to good and be of some use. Seeing An-Ya's terrified expression she wraps an arm around her shoulders and holds her as she gives a look of worry towards her husband.

I might have an idea for the two ninja after talking with our DM I'm exchanging Sorceror levels for Bard taking Duettist for more charm and trickery abilities (also ties in nicely with my rogue levels I'm taking later kitsune trickster with obfuscate story can't have people figuring out yo our future spymaster is now can I). If I use fascinate on them paired with aspect of the nightingale I might convince them to drink the potions...

His eyes narrow as Jian Xi tries to decipher Laozu glances. Unable to properly gauge the man Jian Xi decides to use the tactic that has always worked for him when fighting and decides to rush forward.

When we leave When the rest of the part prepares to leave he gives Jade Moon a quick kiss and tells her he'll be just a moment.

"Is anything the matter Laozu? I get the feeling you wished to talk to me." He states simply.

Jade Moon's curiosity began to grow. She wondered about Jian Xi and what he was thinking about. He seemed a bit off.

Jade Moon quietly listens to the questions and the two ninja's responses.
Whilst listening she tries to think of anyway to remove the taint from their bodies. "You'd sell your souls and bodies to oni to avoid working in the mines? You'd sell them to a man who abandons both of you as soon as the tides of battle shifted? Surely your lives are worth more than that." She says with a sadness in her voice that threatens to break her serene mask.

Upon Xiang Lun's discovery about the ninja's chi Jade Moon's mind turns once again to the fox's gift. Her eyes take on a pale green shimmer like a lunar moth as her eyes become attuned to the magic threads wrapped around the two ninja's heart chakra.

The first night during the return trip

Jade Moon returns the fox's bow as well as she can from her horse. As soon as they stop for the night she pulls out the rice ball once again and begins to study it. Her eyes shifting through the threads of magic as a seamstress would pick apart a kimono.

During their journey back to the trading post Jade Moon would sing in hushed tones lending the air a comfortable safe feeling. She'd also show kindness towards the prisoners giving them their food and making sure they could hear her singing hoping to soften them. Her hopes were to win them over eventually though she feared her attempts were in vain.

Jade Moon runs a delicate finger across the defaced statues and feels a moment of sadness at such desecration and can't help but wonder what would anger a god so much he'd curse his own temple. Thinking of gods she turns her mind towards the strange rice ball she was given. She decides it's best to wait till they arrive at the trading post before examining it further. Before leaving she offers a quick prayer to Daikitsu for her bountiful gifts and to help them restore the glory and honor to this shrine.

Jade Moon halted her horse and raised one hand silently to stop the others. She looks at the fox and gives a respectful bow. "Fellow child of Diakitsu..."
She watches as the fox bats the ball of rice towards her horse and bound away. Jade Moon hops off of her horse and cautiously walks towards the rice ball. Retrieving the ball she then remounts her horse and looks at her husband confused as to what this could mean. This did not seem to be of any coincidence to Jade Moon and read it as a message or omen from the holy fox mother. "What kind of message could the celestial fox den have sent us with the white fox and the rice?" She holds the rice ball up to further examine. detect magic

After continuing the dark rain soaked ride upon seeing Jia-Hua she is immediately repulsed. However she is surprisingly calm and collected as the four shinobi drop from the trees. Reciting a quick incantation she sweeps her hands in mystical passes causing a blanket of exhaustion to lay over the ninja. "My dear Daikitsu touch them with slumber from your den."

Jade Moon follows Jian Xi to prepare the horses Yuki's claws clutch her shoulder being nervous around the horses. She gives Jian Xi a sympathetic look for she knows his deep dislike for horses. She reaches out one hand and gently places it on his shoulder. "Are you ready my love? "

After Baolin heads towards the stables Jian Xi steals a moment with Jade Moon.

"Are you alright my beloved? " He asks as he places his forehead against hers and closes his eyes.

Jade Moon cannot help but smile while he touches her forehead with his. She too closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. "Yes, I am fine simply because you are."

Jade Moon looks over at Baolin and whispers into her hand and yet it sounds to him as if she was right next to him despite the wind and rain.

"Would you like me to put them to sleep to more easily deal with them, or have Jian Xi tie them up and lead them inside?"

Staying hidden Jade Moon quickly casts a spell hoping to confuse the bandits she makes it sound like a group of armed men are approaching them from behind.

Jade Moon seeing the ghostly figure dangling in the doorway of the haunted house, felt her heart skip a beat. Her mouth dried and her hands became clammy. She tried to swallow a gulp of air but her throat would not allow it. She knew it was bad if Jian Xi was disturbed by the whole ordeal. She worried for him and what he might of felt or thought while there. She had a feeling that the foul specters might have done something to him. Something about the image of the gathering sinister souls poked and prodded ominously at her mind. It was a fear that was palpable. She rode furiously into the night clutching the boy tightly like a mother would to protect her child. The further they got away the more relief she felt. Upon reaching the trading post she let out a deep breath, almost as if she was scared to breathe the entire escape. "Jian Xi!" She whispered softly to her beloved in a comforting manner. "Are you alright? What happened at that dreadful house?"

Seeing most of the ghosts disappear Jade Moon grips Li-Wu's hand as she pulls him along heading for the door in hopes of getting him out of the house first she casts a spell causing fox fire to glow around them to light up outside.

She takes the long sleeves of her hanfu and wraps them around the child like a blanket, shielding his eyes from the ghosts. She smiles down at the boy and looks him in the eyes, "Have you ever seen a kitsune before? If you ever see one in the forest, just say you know Jade Moon and they will always help guide you home if you are ever lost. They will even leave you small gifts under large trees for you." She tells him this in hopes of keeping his mind off of the terror before him. She vowed to tell her people about this family so that they will look after them should they ever get lost or need something. She never wanted to see that look of fear in his eyes again. She gently raked her fingers through his hair much like a mother would their child when lulling them to sleep.

Delaying until some more ghosts are laid to rest

Jade Moon steps in front of Li-Wu as she casts a quick spell encasing her body in a protective force. "Stay close to me, ok?" She says with a smile looking deep into the child's eyes.

Jade Moon feels saddened by the families plight especially the little one Li-Wu. She had always had a soft spot for children. With a whispered word Yuki leaps off her shoulder and runs over to the small boy trying to play with him. She smiles as she sees Yuki running around him chittering and rolling around.

"I agree with Xiang Lun, this place is unhealthy for you. There are things in our world that people aren't equipped to deal with. It is no mark against you for this."

Upon being offered Hayashi's hat, Jade Moon bows deeply with gratitude. "Thank you friend, even the greatest of my illusions cannot always hide frizzy hair from the rain and humidity." She smiles and reaches for the hat. She places it on her head neatly then gently lifts the hem of her hanfu to prevent her garment from soaking up the rain. She listens intently while the group discusses their next plan shivering from being damp.

Jade Moon listens to the couple tell their tale of living with the bandits. She felt terrible for them and vowed to work hard with Jian Xi to liberate the couple. She speaks softly over her tea whilst looking at the two, "We are going to do everything we can to help you."

Jade Moon watches the ritual carefully. She feels a sense of renewal afterwards as if she had rested for a full night. She bows humbly to the priestess and thanks her. Jade Moon gathers her things in preparation for their journey. She herself also does a small ritual by lighting three sticks of incense and sticking them into a mound of sand outside. Beside the incense she prepared a small plate of sweet rice cakes, rice wine and fish to leave as an offering. She offers up a prayer of protection to Diakitsu that their journey goes smoothly. "Great mother fox, Diakitsu, protect us on this journey. Let us be old and grey before you receive us in your eternal den." She places her palms together while mumbling the words to her prayer. Yuki sits beside her stiffly as a sign of respect. She lifts one paw in the air then drops into a bow followed by a small bark.

Jade Moon stays close to Jian Xi while they journey. She loved the scenery and and was fascinated by her surroundings. When they approached their destination both Jade Mon and Yuki could feel the dreary atmosphere.

Jade Moon bows low with deep respect. Very well. Something about the spider frightened her deeply, dismantling her nerves and reassembling them on point like needles. She deeply wished to watch the spiders die just so that she could rest easy knowing that there were less of them in the world.

"How far away is the academy where you learned your magic? I learned once that some sorcerers can curse their victims in such a way that if they were to divulge any secrets they would come to an untimely end. I could keep him subdued through sleep so that he doesn't talk while we deliver him to the academy. Let the masters have a look at him. I know this may set back our journey a bit, but it could give us a chance to learn more about our enemy before we embark on this journey." She looks at her companions searching their faces for any sign of disapproval, afraid of her idea sounding a bit mad. Knowing that they probably lacked the knowledge and skills to free these ninjas, perhaps it would be better to take them to someone who may know how to free them of their curse.

Narukami, I am totally digging my sprite! You did an awesome job and I was so excited to see it. Thank you so much ^_^ also to our wonderful DM...holy guacamole I thought I didn't like spiders before but now....wow, the visual of the spider tearing out of that guy's face was freaky yet bad a$$! Best game I ever played and we haven't even made it out of the inn!

Jade Moon's eyes enlarge and her fangs begin to grow. Her tail wraps around her feet much like a frightened cat trying to make themselves small. Her blood runs cold as she stares into the spiders eyes and a frightening realization churns in her gut. "Gentlemen, I hate to say this but we may need to cut open the slain ninjas and see if any of them have more of our black, eight-legged friends hiding inside. Perhaps if this miserable creature will not give us some form of insight into our enemies plan, maybe another of them will." She takes a breath and tucks her hands into her sleeves to combat a soft chill running through her body. "Xiang Lun, I will help you study this creature. I believe there is much we can learn from it." She breaks her gaze from the foul beast and looks to Jian Xi for comfort. She never expected to be woken up by something so terrible. "If this creature is venomous, we could collect its poison and possibly create an antidote. At the very least we could use their own poison against them or find a cure in case any of us are ever bitten." She glares again at the spider and let's out a low growl that is barely audible. Her lips curl back revealing a more feral side to herself.

Jade Moon Listened to Hu Baolin's suggestion in not partaking in any unnecessary violence and saw great wisdom in his words. She understood her husband's point of view but knew that making a good impression could be beneficial to them, even if it was making a good impression on an enemy. Although part of her wanted to wallop the two enemies on the head, she knew that there was always something more beneath the surface. She at the very least was going to get the satisfaction of having Yuki wet-willy the two, even if only once. The very thought of watching two assassins sqweel made her struggle not to smile. It took everything in herself to conceal a wave of laughter from breaking the surface. A spark of mischievousness flashed across her green eyes.
