Ok I'm bored with this waiting and checking everyday, if it's like this in recrutement, I can't see the PbP game going anywhere. So I'm out, please, GM remove my PC from the list of applicants.


Roll play fun:

She dove off the cliff, her pursuers ground to a holt as she feel away,
flipping over she feet came to the side of the rock and she slowed, then jumped again, falling lower down and repeating the rock hop. As the ground came up to meet her, she pushed away form the rock and hovered across river to land genily on the sandy and rocky river bank. She stood and looked up at the traintess now some 240' feet above.

She shouted up to them.

"IF YOU SET A TRAP, BE CAREFUL THE TARGET DOES NOT HAVE A MEANS TOP GET OUT OF IT AND TURN THE TRAP ON YOU!! NOW YOUR TRAPPED UP THERE AND I WILL BEAT YOU TO CAMP."

The cadets looked miffed, they thought they had at long last got hwer trapped but she had outwitted them once again.

As she walked back to cam she thought about how she would drill them the next day.


Play test - Shoot out:

She was crouching behind a wall, as spells and shells flow past, She looked at the constable next to her.

"You do know I am not a fighter right, I'm more your desculation type of officer."

The constable stood and fired off a shot then decked back down again.

"Well that was the plan, then the second gang boss showed up and all hell broke loose. They seem to be fighting us and each other"

She snuck a peek around the wall. Yes he was right, the docs ware house now seemed to have a group of gang members behind bales, shooting at a group up on a higher deck. While both shot there way. She ducked back into safty. And took out Shotgun and checked it, then fired a shot around the wall, more for effect than use.

"Is it always like this down here?"

The custible nodded firing his own gun.

"More or less"

She steelled herself this was no way for a lady to make a living, but someone had to do it. Standing back up she fired once more.

My PC is an Investigator, as such other are a resorce to her.
So I wanted to post how she may know the other PCs

Kardin Shieldshatter, She meet the dwarf Gunsmith and blacksmith while while researching engineering. She often goes to him for advice on the subject. She considers him truthful and trustworthy, he also likes a good drink which she also likes.

Tavius She knows him form his time teaching at Pardwight University. She even attended a few of his classes. She calls him
Proff, and gives him respect for being one of the few persons she knows who is smarter than her. She will also seek him when she has a tricky investigation for advice.

Lacrimadia Having worked with her, and seen her skills as a forensic investigator, and the fact Lacrimadia has never been faczed by her 'Gifts' Lady Calista likes her and has spent some time at the Bar, talking with her about flint Gossip.

Annalina "Lina" Vell Lina is funny, well Calista thinks so, she has a cool gift calling, she seems to see things others do not. Calista has learned to trust things Lina says. She likes her and is another who joins them at the Bar.

Ana Brunas, Calista respects this catfolk Technologist gunslinger
she has some cool skills. More than once when a mission went south, it was Ana who acted 1st and changed things for the better. Calista really likes her and is always to hit the streets with her.

Captain Zephyr Aetherlock Calista likes him and for a time, had a thing for the slart sea dog. But things like that dont last long on the force. Now she knows him for being cool under fire, and a great tatiction.

Léonie Crouet Smart, sneaky, and a total tech head. Calista called Léonie "Tech Support" becouse Léonie is always able to fix the small bits of tech she has. She likes Léonie and again another one form the Bar.

Ayreth A druid and hedgewitch, Calista is always willing to hear the wise words of Ayreth, trusted and respected buy Calista.

I have her as an RHC Specialist in integration, unlike the rest of her Noble family who work in the law courts.

She is still good in a fight, hand to hand and with her BOOM stick.
But she is really about interpersonal skills.

Ok, I think she is done, She has skills and brains, not so much a hard hitter as some, But she uses her wits to fight as much as her fists.

Born in the Central District, as the youngest daughter to Enobled bureaucratic family. Unlike her two elder Sisters, like her mother, went to work in the law courts. And her two brothers, long ago marred off. She found being on the ground, out on the streets, being there when crime happens far more appealing. feats with equivalent spheres of power ones, most match but Father fall and Hover are proving problematic, as I can;t seem to find an equivalent spheres of power ability

Dancing Lights = Dancing Lights
You may create a glow effect without the need for a creature or object. This allows you to create a floating ball of light that may fly up to 60 feet per round and may be directed as a free action. You may give these lights simple commands, such as following a creature you can see or traveling in a specified pattern.

deeper darkness = Greater Darkness At Will
When creating an area of darkness or blot. This allows you to create a sphere of darkness with a radius of up to 20 feet + 5 feet per caster level. If combined with the Wall Of Darkness talent, this allows you to create six 10-foot cubes, +2 cubes per caster level.

faerie fire = Fenestrate (light)
You can create bright light that makes everything and everyone within the area of the bright light translucent enough that they can be seen through. This includes creatures, objects, structures, and even the ground itself. Objects are not invisible, however, and seeing through them is difficult. Objects that grant cover still grant concealment, but any creature using such an object to hide receives a -10 penalty to their Stealth. Magical fog effects are countered by this Light talent the way magical darkness can be countered by Light talents. Effects based on light (such as most Light sphere abilities) can pass through to affect other objects, but other effects are still stopped by solid objects. This light can be placed on a single structure to make it translucent. If the structure is larger than the area of the glow, then only part of the structure is made translucent.

feather fall = feather fall
The affected creatures or objects fall slowly. Feather fall instantly changes the rate at which the targets fall to a mere 60 feet per round (equivalent to the end of a fall from a few feet), and the subjects take no damage upon landing while the spell is in effect Self only. (including gear and carried objects up to each creature’s maximum load) or objects, or the equivalent in larger creatures: a Large creature or object counts as two Medium creatures or objects, a Huge creature or object counts as four Medium creatures or objects, and so forth. This has no special effect on ranged weapons unless they are falling quite a distance. If the spell is cast on a falling item, the object does half normal damage based on its weight, with no bonus for the height of the drop. Feather fall works only upon free-falling objects. It does not affect a sword blow or a charging or flying creature.

levitate = levitate
Levitate allows you to move yourself, another creature, or an object up and down as you wish. A creature must be willing to be levitated, and an object must be unattended or possessed by a willing creature. You can mentally direct the recipient to move up or down as much as 20 feet each round; doing so is a move action. You cannot move the recipient horizontally, but the recipient could clamber along the face of a cliff, for example, or push against a ceiling to move laterally (generally at half its base land speed). A levitating creature that attacks with a melee or ranged weapon finds itself increasingly unstable; the first attack has a -1 penalty on attack rolls, the second -2, and so on, to a maximum penalty of -5. A full round spent stabilizing allows the creature to begin again at -1.


Play test:

The rain came down and the street was almost empty, Sitting on the cobles was a brute of a man, his arms and legs now bloody from the fight. Shackles where on his wrists and ankles his head bowed down. Around him stood come nine, R.H.C. Garda Síochána, two of which where been tended for severe injuries the rest had cuts and bruises from the take down.

"She is here Sargent"

He looked back and saw the dark skinned, Eladrin. He walked over to her.

"Officer Da Romano, nice of you to come over our way."

"Not at all Sargent Willkes, what do you need me to do?"

"See that big feller there, well he was paid to kill and merchant and his family, Father, mother and daughter, Father, mother we found, dead, but the daughter is missing. We don't know what he has done with her, she was due to be married next month, so she is no child. We think he took her and sold her. But to who."

"And he is not talking"

Sargent Willkes nodded.

"Right then best get started"

She took off her raincoat and hat, and handed them a young R.H.C. Garda . Then she walked up to the Shackled man sitting on the street cobbles.

"Hello there I hear you in a bit of bother. Well I am here to help. See we know you killed two persons. And I have no doubt you will hang for that. But you see, they had a daughter and it looks every much like you took her. Now for that you may have a few things happen to you."

As she talks her let her mind reach out and feel around his, hard nut this, he was angry and for some reason, resentful, of her and the R.H.C. but something more, a deep feeling of guilt.

"You see Garda Tillmen over there, well he wants to break every bone in your body, one by one. Very painful. And Garda Glen wants to shoot you full of holes and see how long you last before you talk. Again very painful. And Sargent Willkes well he would just nail you to a door and beat you to death. Again very painful"

"This last job, You broke in around the back, 1st sneaking into the parents room, killing him quite not a sound, arr but taking your time with the wife. That's when the girl walked in, she lunged at you and you slapped her, out cold, but what to do, so like your own dear sister, so rapped her up in bed sheets, slunger her over your shoulder, and off into the night"

"GET OUT! GET OUT! IF MY HEAD!!!"

He screams now.

"Some place you can enjoy her later, relive that time with your sister, but how? then Arr the street with the ladies if the night, there is one place you like to use, and its owner, all too happy to buy of you a sleeping girl. Let you use her later cheap, dress her up like sister"

He was looking at her, panting, real fear in his eyes,
What she said next, she said so only he could hear.

"You will get up and you will take Sargent Willkes and his men to where you sold the girl, you will admit to this crime, and lose your life for it, you will do all this or I will tell the city what you did to your sister"

The Sargent looked at the young Garda.

"Pray to the gods you never cross that one, she puts the fear of them in me so she dose"

And he turned to the broken brute of a man, now sobbing in the rain filled street.

My idea is others have fighting and killing down, I want Calista to be know as a interrogator, some one with a set of skills, the R.H.C would want to explicit.

Upon leaving the Dreaming, vekeshi mystics return to their normal lives, but seek positions of power in military, law enforcement, or the underworld, where they use their authority to punish those who continually threaten people who are simply trying to make a better life for themselves.

So she will be Lawful neutral I think and works to upkeep the law.

I have changed her race to Drow, GM, I just think, given the setting and how Aasimar are treated she would stick out way to much. The team would not be able to sneak anywhere, where an Aasimar glowing behind them.

So, A drow with the Nobel Drow feats, so she is a Nobel Drow.

I also want her to be jaw droppingly beautiful, Charming and intelligent.
Her Specialization as an Eliciter/Investigator is interrogation and information collection. She uses Charming powers and skills to extract information form subjects under investigation.

Race wise, thinking if I can ask, as you said its a playable. Of an Aasimar who can't help be Lawful/good. It's literally in her blood and works for the greater good in the R.H.C.
I really like the idea she is the one you call in when there is a mystery to be solved. She is a dedicated investigator for the R.H.C., I may make her a lesser noble/officer V the lesser noble trait, if I may. She is not a front line fighter, so she would be looking to other players to help with that. What she would be is a cool Detective type.
In the Miss Marple kind of way. "Professor plum in the Library with the candlestick"

Hi guys, well that game I got a place in drop dead before it even started, the GM had RL stuff come up so game-short once more.

So if its ok GM could I re enter recruitment PC is the same.

Sticking with the idea of a Psionic Union Collage [Psionic Guild], where students join he Guild. Its LN with that much training going on.
They also seek to fix the rates for Psioic work in the city,
The collect dues and test for free possible students.

Something like this Manner house.


Guys I am going to take a step back on this, until see how things pan out. Just been given a place in another game and want to spend time on that.

Another Psion would be cool, and I was thinking of when we would get leadership as a feat, its really a must have if we want followers.
As its a level 8 feat, could be a long time before we get to a stage where we have any like a Guild each. Its sounding more and more like a group guild is the best way to go at this low level. I don't really mine ether way for my PC she can fit into her own or one group one. As for what the guild dos. An all round investigation or pathfinder like guild seems to be where most want to be.


I tend to always make an alt and use it to firm up my idea of a PC, and to let the GM know I I'll commit to their game fully. Not saying others want in their way, just it my way to make one.

My own view is the upside of having a discussion thread running is seeing how pcs interact a little, I have done this myself and it really helped me pick a 'working" group of PC and players for my game. In other words a little before hand roll play, dos little harm and helped my get and idea of how possible sulection players liked to play their offered pcs.

Also vested players with pcs Alta made are often happy to wait for a game drop out slot. You tend to get dropped players with in a few weeks of starting play, with the odd player feeling the games not for them or have their real life get in the way and just can't keep up with game play. In that way a stand by player can take the that slot.

Another thought is that It could be fun to have down side players working on their guild.
If your going to split players into curent adventuring group and down time guild builders.

Just some of my own thoughts on this.

I agree its a fine line between a 'god father' like protectorate/arbiter. {who was still a fared killer} and 'scary Psychopath' {fared killer}

I am really getting a Gangs of NY kind of feel from yours and others ideas, I like it but just saying for NPCs it's going to be hard not to fall into the evil 'Scar-face'Mob boss bracket in there minds.

My main Idea for my PC is that she is far more machiavellian as a thinker, moving in the halls of power and the back streets. Playing the 'great game' the nobility play. Far more political in a Great House 'DUNE like way. To her Knowledge is power and protecting the House De Romano is all. She is 100% LN and works to keep her house safe, the city stable, working and under control.

"What is good for the city is good for the Nobel House's"

She would not only know but want to know and have good terms with all the others PCs. :)


@Bobo D, I like the idea of your PC, nice. but, and its a big one but, The GM talked about this being a good leaning game, Neutral is ok, Evil is bad. A mob boss who uses fear to keep others grime gangs down. That's dos kind of sound evil-ish. I don't mean to rain on your idea, it really dos sound a fun one. But could I offer some feed back to it. [Note if want to do the same to my idea for a PC please feel free, always better to make a pc other are happy to play with.]
Also could I ask is the aim for your PC to the De facto [Mob] Boss of PCs linked guild?, you may want make that clear at the start. Myself, I was more thinking the idea would be a council over one boss/leader PC.

Also using fear is great and I like the dreads but would you use it on other PCs? just thinking of the PvP thing. The GM dos want us as a team at the start and your 'Gangster No1' would have to work in a group as well.

On a side note: Also My pc wants to run a Psionic training school. would my PC have helped train your? Nice pc link there if so.

GM this just hit me,

I'm starting to see a shape in the guild ideas.
Whats coming up is a sudo-underground Guild? A mix of neutral thieves/Assassins with detectives and some magic crafters and fighters[body guards] to add to the three already talked about.

There is also talk of a espionage/detecting guild. So I'm thinking on this, every City needs a means of defiance, Fighters, magic weaves, Clerics,thieves, Assassins,spys. In a city like this one, full of add balls and misfits, this would need a deep state force.

A group linked who work to protect there home city. Unseen, undercover, working in the shadows.

I secret service, Magic carft'ers = Q branch. The fighters = Troops. The Assassins its 007's. The Psioics its Interrogates. The thieves its detectives. Its bards its infiltrators.

There would be some overlap but as a team it would make for a very cool City wide secret service with all manner of aliments and mixed disciplines.

This way, picked players could have a "Branch" as their guild build, the GM could start the game as the 'Spy master' [NPC PC] and send a picked team off for a 'mission' as a group and then tell them to start building there "Branch". With the idea that we will be building up an underground defense for the city. You could also have the last one mysteriously falling apart or disappearing. And have the players uncover how and why as the game of on. Plot hook etc.

What ya think? just an idea of how this could be done.


Yep having links between Players is a key thing, a mata group working with in one Guild sounds good. I Think Linked groups would be good to keep the core idea of that the GM had in mind.

The aim with my PC is to have an education institution that tests, trains and then Licences the Psionicly Gifted. That means a building, staff and a student body, coming to the city for training. That guild could well have links to others who work in investigation/policing/guarding the city.

May be a cool to have the city council offer contracts to a consortium of guilds. That way a team of player seems like a good idea.

That means if your an Elf there is a good chance you know most of the other elves in the city.

I would say that is permanent Population and have a lot of carry throw temp Population. Thinking as trade is so big, add to the sight seers fame hunters etc. could be 2:1

Then the under city, say 1:1

You could looking at a real Population at any one time of 32,000 above and below the city.

That is a good size


Background:

Calista was not born on the Prime living most of her life in the city of Kaer Maga, the City of Strangers. Her mother a respected elf cleric had had trouble conceiving children. So Divine magic was used how ever there was a side effect. The temple seer told her she would have triplets, all girls and it would be a hard birth. Help would be needed with the birth. The cost a great deal but aid from outsiders was got and after 2 days, three girls come into the world. All three sisters where Aasimar. Talain, Lillira and last one to be birthed Calista. The other two had a hard but fine birth how ever with Calista there was a complication, the her new born mind was unfixed, shifting from those around her it could was not be held in its own body. The wise of higher planes placed a gem stone on the child’s forehead to stabilize her mind, After this she found focus and peace, but the side affect was the implanting of her mind-mage powers. Powers that would come to life later in her life.

As a child to a respected noble family of Eleves, Calista and her two sisters spent most of their time with servants. The three where all but inseparable as children and where always known for getting in trouble. Talain the eldest by 5 mins, had a gift with plants, and to her was given then craft and skills of the Druidic arts. Lillira the middle sister was strong and arm and blade, to her was given the training of the bow and blade. Both elder sisters had a future of respectable roles in the Noble house Da Romano. But poor Calista showed no ability's as such, her mind powers just seem to limit other things, she had little gift for the bardic crafts, cleric arts where not for her, nor magaery, she understood magic she just could not do it. Alchemy then, no, all she did was make her hair green for a while, the fighting arts, again no, she was good with a dagger but not much more, she also hated wearing armor and use of the larger blades.

It seemed that she the younger was destined to be just wed off to some halfwit noble’s son. Meetings where held but each time the boy involved would blurt out so reason he could not marry Calista, a few times to great comic affect. Her mother started to suspect that Calista had a hand in this. Her suspicions where raised when she noted how Calista always seemed to know how others felt around her, it was more than hard to keep secrets from her in fact. Calista was needed to be talked to. This suspicion lead to a fateful meeting, with once again the Temple seer, the very one that advised she be born on the higher planes.

The meeting

She sat waiting and the old elf seer, blind came into the room. With her stick she found the table and sat across from Calista. She lifted a set of cards from her bag and placed them on the table.

”Well young elf it’s been a while, last time I was with you, you were no bigger than a fox cub. Now look at you, all ready to have a family of your own. But I can tell that is not what you wish. So let’s see you fate then.”

She took a deck of harrow cards and placed them in the form for prediction.

”The big sky, adventure awaits you child. The Crows, there will be evils and dangers to face, The Dance, grate forces will be in play, The Forge, you must train your skills and talents but what are they, I was told child you had none hum.”

She turned over the last two cards, and sat back an odd look on her face.

” The Unicorn, you will seek to undo something, and, arr this is unexpected”

::”The Mute Hag, so you’re a mind mage, well that I did not expect”::

Calista was shocked as the old elfs words came to her mind without being spoken.

::”But, how??, what? Err can you hear me my thoughts”::

The old elf seer nodded.

::”Its more you can hear mind, I am using magic, but you, your doing this all on your own, Yes?. It seems the powers that be have plans for you my girl. You have a destiny, so the cards you see in front of you say, one that is linked to your mind. So now we know what you need training in mind-mage.”::

Calista had no idea what that meant but when this old seer talked of talents she was all ears.

She was sent for training it was sparse and mostly from books. When she came back to the city she had a plan, she would find and train others like herself. Mind mages where seen with stigma, and that had to change. She would make a guild, a training school and collage. They would test children and find the gifted. They will work with the powers that be in the city and make themselves respected. Having a mind-mage in the family would become a thing of pride. Until then as an asset to the family she would be given tasks aliened for her skills. Being a noble family meant all of them worked to keep its name and interests safe.

Background sub story - Bad mans end:

Nurob was happy; he had just fenced some more gear and was heading down to see Maka to do a nice blackmail on some out of town trader. Make him some real cash from a noble City of Strangers's fat-cat. He slipped in to Old Beekys Bar and grill and make his way to the booths at the back. Maka used one as his office to keep the laws eyes away. Nurob popped the door open and backed in checking he was not seen. Once he had the door closed he turned around says.

"Maka have I got as sweet deal for you..."

He stopped, where Maka normally sat there was now a white haired Elf. She could be one of Maka's girls.

"Err where Maka girly?"

She took a moment to look him up and down, and then said in a clear voice.

"Mr Makadreen decided to give up his life of crime and has gone the local Temple to confess all."

It took a moment, then he burst out laughing after a while he stopped.

"A Joker, funny but no really where's he gone?"

She looked him hard in the eyes.

"As I said, so now Mr Nurob Alfeen Gib and please take a seat, I would like some words with you."

Now he looked shocked, The law? city watch? Who in the the hell's was this elf, All this ran through his mind, she even knew is real full name, She has got to be the law, ye they wanted him, must be, yer now he was going to be in the big time. Deal with her then off to bigger things. He sat and looked at her, she poured him a drink of lemon tea she had in front of her. He did not take it, but she had a sip of hers. As she did he felt his leg under the table, felt for his poison tipped dagger there.

"Now Mr Gib you have come to my attention in regards to some documents you stole a few days ago from the Boyle Grand Inn, from room 10, the ones that you’re now thinking about in your top breast pocket and ones that belong to others."

He looked at her shocked,

"Mind reader!"

A crime here about's, So she's not local law, then what? free agent, someone hire her? or... the trader, he hired her, that's who this girl was, right him, need them back a, so girly now they would talk money.

What he had in his pocket was a trade deals worth 1,000s.

"You come alone?"

He asked her.

"Yes, I did not see the need for others."

Shot back her reply.

"Right, here is the offer, 4,000 in uncut gems, that's the price, pay and the papers are all yours. Any funny stuff and ill gut ya."

She sipped her tea again studding him.

His mind was weak, she had no great difficulty, as a criminal she was free to use her full powers now. She held her hand out and before he knew it he had done just that, taken them out and handed them to her. He had really wanted to, really. She slipped them into a small case she had with her.

"Err, what the hell's just happened"

He shook his head,

"WHAT THE...!!"

He went for his dagger pulling it out and then froze. He could not move his hand out with the blade in it just inches from her head. She had not moved but still sat sipping her tea looking at him as if thinking what to do.

"Thank you Mr Gib, I have strict rules what I can do to others, but now you have tried to hurt me with poison no less, I don't feel bad about what I have to do, you’re an evil man and evil things are going to happen to you."

He was frozen as she stood and walked round the table to his side. She was tall over 6' but slim, but there was something very worrying about this Elf. She was to still to focused she had no fear of him at all. He could only move his eyes, so looking to the side he could see her come close, she pulled the dagger form his hand. Spinning it around she cut his arm with it, Still he could not move.

She put the dagger back in his leg sheath, then he was free of her, but so weak, he fell to the floor shivering. The poison starting to work.

::"Now you made a number of mistakes, you should have checked your mark, you should have fully read the papers I now have and you should never have thought about blackmailing us."::

She looked down at him.

::"So with your mistakes I am sorry to say I have been ordered to set example of you. Your do understand, this is not at all personal it’s just business. They use me when they need things done out of sight."::

His mind raced

::"Yes I can see it in your mind, you just worked it out, now please try not to..."::

Too late he had messed himself.

::"O well, it will wash out, now then, as I was saying, the Nobles of this city need to as an example. You know for others of your kind who may be thinking of doing something like you. So a short distance from here is cities main witch keep."::

Now he was whimpering as fear and his own poison had taken him.

::"Your time is short and if you run there fast, and ask for healing I think they will try and keep you live for the reward that has just been on your head. I also think you may want to tell them all about the bad things you have done, get it all off your chest you will feel a lot better. You will not tell them about me."::

He crawled, when they arrested him and he told all. He had no idea why, he just knew he had to, that he must. There was a lot of pain and crying and evil things done, dead families, dead children but in all he told them he never said a word about letter or a strange elf he had just meet. They hang him two days later.

The trade deal was signed the same day.

On stat's is there an Upper limit, say 18 or 20
Some GM's have rules like.

Max buy 18/20 after race traits / min 10 after race stat traits

I note mine and one other offered PC [Mage] have "int's" of 20,
would 20 be seen as too high I think now so. I have given myself the limit of Max buy 18 after race traits so no stat over 18 for my PC now.


GM as we will be fixed in the city, would it be a good idea to have players list say 3 contacts/Relationships and 3 Rivals/Enemy's and one other player PC your PC knows.

Yep I spotted that as well, The offered PC's
Baldric Moore's is a hard hitter
most look like ranged hitters with large magic/powers for hard hitting Big bad's. I found that a front line Tank is nice but at higher levels, they tend to lack flexibility and lag behind other classes. As challenges becomes more complex. Speed and movement with hard hit, A trip/Crit master with milti hits a round is much more use then a stand and slug hitter I have found.

Most offered pc have other modes of movement even flight and porting. 9th /10th level big bad's can be hard hitters with SU's that really hurt at close range.

Calista can pick up big bad's and hurl them, blast it, mess with its mind as well as port the whole party away to get more time to attack. If needs be she can up her AC and become large with some mean hits.

That kind of feasibility is is very useful, I think others feel the same way about their builds.


Altered some small things,
She now uses a light crossbow not a comp bow, that's so she could have have Craft Wondrous Items as her GM Bonus feat, she has crafted two items but they are custom items, not high cost ones. Crafted load of stuff to get X2 gp spend at the start is a little to Munchkin I think.

All round she feels a lot better now, and can make her own Universal Items Pisonic items in game which is nice now.


looks like the part may have a lot of good in it, so you may have to play them hidden of down play the evil of necromancy spells, it a hard thing to play well be I have seen it done.

Description

This tall and slender Aasimar Calista passes for an elf, The only odd Aasimar thing about her is the Electric blue eyes. Calista also has a pale blue gem in her forehead that has unmistakable power. Calista does not look that strong but when she moves it’s with some grace. Wearing no Armour but her clothing is also well made, simple, intelligent design that seems very piratical. For weapons she seems only to carry a Finely made Comp-bow and have a cold Iron dagger in her right boot.

Personality

The Lady Calista is... complicated. Talk to her and you will find a complex, Highly intelligent, Highly self-disciplined elf, [Really Aasimar] who is very well educated and sophisticated in manners. yes she has a wild side, a reckless side that can drive her to do things on a whim. She is kind and helpful yet seems a little paranoid and when fighting evil she can be cunning, manipulative even cruel. The reason for this is simple, she knows the minds of others, the lies told, the evils done. As an 'empath' seeing and experiencing the nightmares and evils done by others. Reading minds has an effect and inflects pain on her. Its why she tends to hide her mental talents and Ability's. Why she has a strict personal code for their use, she dos no read minds willy-nilly, there is to much pain there, she only do's it when there is clear course and only to aid or help others.

Role and Tactics
Calista is a Tactician, a deep thinker, where others rush in with blade and magic, she works out a stratagem that gets around the obstetrical. She tends not to dip deep into the minds of others unless its really needed, relaying on her other gifts and powers. She can alter her form to become a fighting monster or get to places others would find hard. As for hard hitting she has powers that do, 9d10/9d6 DMG over rounds, She is skilled with a bow, and can get past DR. With skills she has intimidate at 20 and can alter and read the minds of others. Her Kno skills are all high. But her key ability to linking the minds of the party, so they can communicate unobserved. Her telepathy She speaks all Languages even animal ones. For a party she would be a fantastic asset because of her adaptability and mental gifts.

Background:

Calista was not born on the Prime but on the plain of Elysium, her mother a respected elf cleric had been told by a seer that she must for the sake of the child she was to have. It cost a great deal but she got there and with the aid of outsiders had. Calista. There was a complication, the young elfs mind was unfixed, shifting from those around her it could was not held in its own body. The wise of Elysuim placed a gem stone in the child’s forehead to stabilize her mind. After this she found focus and peace.

As the youngest child to a respected noble family of Eleves, when she and her mother retuned home, Calista meet her 2 sibling sisters. The three became inseparable and where always known for getting in trouble. Talain the eldest, had the fit of plants, and to her was given then craft and skills of the Druidic arts. Lillira the middle sister was strong and arm and blade, to her was given the training of the bow and blade. Both elder sisters had a future of respectable roles in the Noble house Da Romano. But poor Calista showed no such ability. Nor did she show such in the bardic crafts, cleric arts where not for her, nor magaery. Alchemy then, no, all she did was make her hair green for a while, the fighting arts, again no, she was good with a bow, yes. But she hated wearing armor and use of the larger blades. Yet she had gifts a sharp mind, cold did not seem to harm her as it did others, everyone liked her, even animals but she was so Hapless at magic, the family was at a loss.

It seemed that she the younger was destined to be wed off to some halfwit noble’s son. Meetings where held but each time the boy involved would blurt out so reason he could not marry Calista, a few times to great comic affect. Her mother started to suspect that Calista had a hand in this. Her suspicions where raised when she noted how Calista always seemed to know how others felt around her, it was more than hard to keep secrets from her in fact. Calista was needed to be talked to. This suspicion lead to a fate full meeting, with a card seer, the very one that advised she be born in Elysuim.

She said waiting and the old elf seer, blind came into the room. With her stick she found the table and sat across from Calista. She lifted a set of cards from her bag and placed them on the table.

”Well young elf it’s been a while, last time I was with you, you were no bigger than a fox. Now look at you, all ready to have a family of your own. But I can tell that is not what you wish. So let’s see you fate then.”

She took the cards and placed them in the form for production.

”The big sky, travel and adventure awaits you child. The Crows, there will be evils and dangers to face, The Dance, grate forces will be in play, The Forge, you must train your skills and talents but what are they, I was told child you had none hum.”

She turned over the last two cards, and sat back an odd look on her face.

” The Unicorn, you will seek to undo something, and”

::”The Mute Hag, so you’re a mind mage, well that I did not expect”::

Calista was shocked as the old elfs word came to her mind without being spoken.

::”But, how, what? Err can you hear me”::

The old elf seer nodded.

::”Yes I can and it seems the powers that be have plans for you my girl. You have a destiny one linked to the very cards you see in front of you. There maker seems to be in need of your talents.”::

Calista had no idea what that meant but when this old seer talked of talents she was all ears.

::”So talents, like…”::

The old seer talked to her then, mind to mind, it was a long day, after it was agreed with the family that she would get training in the ways of the mind. This would mean travel to collages and academy’s that did such training. That was some 50 years ago, the small amount coin her family gave her had long ago been spent. But she found ways to get more, Bounty Hunting was the one she liked the best. Finding the lost child, hunting the criminal, having skills of the mind helped. She had rules on using her powers; she would only uninvited read evil minds. She would only use her powers and gifts for good. Helping others where she could and doing ‘good’ in the world. Her family was happy with this, from time to time she went home. She and her sisters would talk of their adventures and what they had seen.

Calista is a special kind of PC, as a Psionic PC she is not a one hit killer, but she can defuse a fight before it even starts. She will seek to do this as she is CG. She also hid's her powers not wishing to be feared. So at the start she may now show them until she can trust the group. My hope is you pick her so I can play out who she is and what she is like.

If that is ok, just felt she worked better that way and it fitted her back ground and class better.

yes DR/SR/PR all get bypass once you willingly and that is the key, join her collective. I have a feat called Net work power that is very cool, lets me use Level 0 and level 1 self powers on collective members, at a cost but its cool feat. As a Psion Telepath L8 [Gestalt Tactician (Battle Medic) L4] she can really do some nice things now.
