As the others examine the strange carvings and other features of the room, Krat makes his way cautiously to the door on the left. "I don't know what this place is, but something intentionally dug its way in here, so we need to keep an eye out for new visitors other than ourselves. I'm going to check this door for traps and any signs that it's been used recently. If you see anything unusual and aren't sure if it's going to attack you in some way, let me know. Though if it's a creature that's actively attacking that's more the department of our friend with an axe." Krat gives a quick, toothy grin at Transient.
Perception to see if anyone seems to have been in the room recently:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Taking 10 to examine the door on the left for any traps or recent use (given the recent failures to find dangers, Krat's going to approach this one a bit more cautiously as we're not in an obvious hurry yet. 19 Perception check.
At the Dromite's offer to form a collective, Krat narrows his eyes a little, suspiciously.
Sense Motive to determine Leksa's intention:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
As Leksa's intention truly is benevolent here, any roll would have given a result that they seem well intentioned should anyone else be inclined towards suspicion as well.
Squinting at the insectiod for a second, Krat then shrugs. "I don't know what's down here, so if you say it can help us I'm willing to give your link a try."
Krat looks at Eleven_Zee_Alpha and tilts his head slightly. "Based on what your body just seems to have done I wonder how much the hits will slow you down in the long run, but I agree that Transient seems sturdier and, as he's offered to go first, I'm happy to follow him." Looking around the cavern they are all in Krat points to the north, there looks to be an opening through there. Shall we start in that direction?
Perception to detect any dangers or objects of interest in the direction of the northwest corner of the room (and the doorway):1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Krat falls in next to Eleven_Zee_Alpha following Transient, keeping alert and pulling out his rapier as he goes. Leksa silently takes up a position at the rear, putting away the rope they showed the group and using his quarterstaff as a walking stick.
"I'm happy to follow your lead, Transient. You certainly don't seem dead to me, though with the day we've had so far I'm not ready to bet on much of anything. How about we stick close together and all keep our eyes open so that hopefully if one of us misses something important the others won't."
The good news is that everyone received a boost in vigor! We now get to add our con bonus each level, and for level 1 we get double the normal. The bad news is that the things that go bump in the night down here will likely be getting the same boost, but we'll deal with that when we run into something I suppose.
I don't think that we're actually using a full gestalt. We ended up going with a free archetype (which doesn't replace the normal class features, but stacks on top of them.) I suspect that instead of vitalist you'll need to take a look at some psion archetype instead, so the collective probably isn't an option just now (though if my tactician joins us we'd get it that way instead.)
Beyond that I don't think that you get telepathy through a collective until level three, so that would need to be out loud for us to get anything from it.
Krat, looking at Eleven_Zee_Alpha's condition grimaces some as he nods. "Now if we're to believe that Seer we should be on the lookout for some sort of strings, either metaphorical or otherwise that need to be severed? For now I'd settle for a stable path forward though." Peering into the gloom around them the blue tries to take stock of the immediate environment.
Krat will scan the immediate area with Detect Psionics in case anything registers, and then try to sort out what the options are for exploring. Where on the Beneath Arbil map are we?
Krat cautiously makes his way down the stairs, looking back up once he's at the bottom. He then makes his way over to the Android and the Duergar to see how they're fairing. "Ah good! You're alive at least, and moving. Shall we take a look around and see what we've gotten ourselves into?"
I don't know if it's in the character creation details, but the Spheres classes had been decided against for character creation earlier. I guess I'd assume that would go for archetypes as well (as adding a Spheres archetype is essentially just making something a Spheres class.)
Krat is now upgraded and ready to go. I've added a couple traits and taken away drawbacks, added a bit more vigor, and now have the circuitbreaker archetype, though it doesn't do that much. It's mostly the same Krat as before. Let me know if anything looks off!
I think that with the new build rules and a free archetype I'll probably just teak Krat slightly. Adding the Circuit Breaker archetype to what I've got now would fit the setting well enough I think.
I think I'm also going to see what I can put together for a Dromite Tactician (Battle Medic) just to see what I think of it and then decide which to play. I should have time to put that together by tomorrow or Monday at the latest as we're starting at level 1.
Seeing a stairway, Krat stops waiting for rope and goes to investigate it more closely, searching for traps or general unreliability. On the way he calls out to his companions below, "I think I've found a less dangerous way down than the two of you took. Over here, I'll try to join you."
Perception for safety:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
I'm surprisingly bad at checking for dangers so far this game. Ah well.
Unless it looks particularly unsafe Krat will make his way down and attempt to join Eleven_Zee_Alpha and Transient.
I don't think any other characters are nearby. I've called out to the citizens of Arbil to bring a rope, but I'll be happy to look around for another way down.
While he waits to see if anyone will bring him the requested rope Krat takes a careful look around to see if there might be some other means to lower himself to join the others.
Just as a heads up, I'll be taking my daughters camping this next week so I probably won't be able to post Monday through Friday. If Krat manages to get down to join the others then he'll follow along quietly. The group can have him be sneaky and check things out if they like, but hopefully I'll be back in time to help with anything major that might come up!
Aid another would put Krat at +4 on the roll; he's pretty bad at climbing. I'm hoping that someone will bring a rope, but if they don't he'll give it a try as he does have to get down somehow.
As he turns to look for a way down into the newly formed chasm Krat sees Eleven_Zee_Alpha tumble into the pit below. Swearing under his breath he turns to Transient. "If you think you can climb down now without a fall like that check on her as quick as you can."
Turning back to the crowd the "kobold" calls out, "You all heard Seer Zorotaer! He knew we had a purpose and it was down there. I don't know what that purpose is yet, but we'll need to attend to the one who just fell quickly so that we can get to it and avoid the doom the Seer hinted at. I need someone to bring some rope and I need it now!"
Krat watches Eleven_Zee_Alpha's performance and shrugs. It seems unlikely that the citizens of Abril would disregard the warnings of a prominent Seer as casually as she's suggesting given how much importance the Protectorate puts in psionic powers like Clairsentience, but if Zoraster saw that they were going to head down into the new hole then there wasn't much use fighting what was predestined.
Glancing around once more at the crowd around them the small figure then turns to look for the best way to descend into the opening without simply falling to the area below.
Finding the new gash int he earth Krat looks around at the citizens of Arbil to see how they're reacting both to the Earthquake and the new gaping hole as well as to the members of the party pointed out by Zorotaer, looking in particular for anyone trying to take charge of the situation.
Sense motive to read the crowd:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 Perception if applicable:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
When Eleven_Zee_Alpha suggests going into the newly revealed caverns Krat glances at her, pauses for a moment and then nods. "It seems likely, given what the ophiduan said and his position, that we're going to be expected to do just that. Given the lack of another immediate obvious threat I'd like to give the city some chance to react; perhaps they'll offer us some supplies to proceed as we appear to be the subjects of some sort of prophecy."
Krat watches the elder ophiduan's entrance with interest, but then his eyes narrow when he seems to be singling out their group. Glancing around quickly to make sure he's not mistaken, he's then taken by surprise as the earth begins to shake and throw himself to the ground to avoid being knocked over by anything else. When the shaking has stopped, as Eleven_Zee_Alpha and interact with Zorotaer and those around him, his words echo in Krat's ears, "The ground will split and the Flow will be torn asunder! All will be lost... Unless... you, you! And... And you and you! ... Cut the strings ..."
Given his status as a revered seer Krat decides to take Zorotaer at his word and looks around frantically to see if there's any evidence that the shaking of the earth has opened up some sort of chasm in the ground or if there's anything that might be classified as a string that there wasn't before (it seems unlikely he'll find the strings right away, but splitting ground would fit in with the scene quite well.)
I suppose the other option for gestalt would be to have one psionic class and one path of war, though I don't know if that would actually fill the roles that might be missing (Krat would almost certainly want to gestalt into Harbinger for example.)
It seems like we have at least 4 or 5 still about and interested in playing at this point, so I wonder if gestalt is really needed? I guess of the two options I'd prefer some minor gestalt option to cover things that aren't just now (mostly healing if Gigar is gone, though he was actively fairly recently, so I'm not convinced we've lost him,) to new recruits for now.
Krat, upon waking to Transient's splash of water looks around and takes stock of the situation. "Well, that went quite well I think. We've learned important information, made a contact of sorts and seem to be largely unharmed at the end of the encounter. I'm going to call it a win."
Accepting Eleven's help up he thinks a bit before answering her question. "Well, we've learned some things that are good to know, but there's not an obvious lead for anything that helps us just now. If we're interested in pursuing the ore shortage and the politics involved then it's possible that an expedition to Vensnak to investigate what's happened on that end is in order, but that's not something we'd do right this minute. For now perhaps we stay in the area with our ears open and listen for the rest of the day and the decide what we're going to be doing more long term tomorrow. Assuming of course that we all feel it in our best interests to work together."
Turning to Transient Krat cocks his head a bit in curiosity. "You haven't wandered off since leaving the tunnels below, so I assume that you're interested in working with us in whatever sort of company we seem to have formed for a while perhaps?"
At this point I think that if nothing else was happening we'd probably head towards Vensnak given what we've learned and are capable of (not a whole lot in either case, but we're following the trail we've got.) The upcoming event probably gives us a clearer idea of other good options to start with?
Krat nods, "That was my assumption when you identified your organization as the Malachite Ring. As for a tangible proposal, my knowledge of possible local opportunities is meager enough that I have little concrete to offer. If there were errands that knowledge," he nods at Eleven_Zee_Alpha, "skill at healing," he nods at Gigar, "some ability to move without being noticed or paid much attention to," he bows slightly, "or," he pauses and looks curiously at Transient, "strong fingers perhaps? might be of use to accomplish we would offer our services for the right, quite modest, price.
"If you have no such errands now we would simply ask that you keep us in mind should something arise in the future."
Krat gives a small shrug. "I've spent most of my time in the city in the guise of a kobold without any psionic potential and I've seen firsthand what the experience is like. It's not been overly pleasant or dignified. From what I've heard your organization, at least up till recently, would put an end to that sort of treatment and those responsible for it if given the chance.
"Of course, all of this comes to me as whispers and rumors, so perhaps I'm misinformed. Or perhaps recent, hmm, changes is probably the best word, have lessened that drive now." Krat shrugs again.
"Ah, and since you've been gracious enough to give us names to use for you I'll return that favor. Those that know me in Abril know me as Krat; you can do with it as you please."
We should have been pretty sure that they can see us just from the fact that they identified me as a stranger of many faces (Krat was acting under the assumption that they could,) but spotting where the cameras are can't hurt.
Krat nods to Eleven and then gives a wry smile to Morgath to acknowledge that he was bested by the trap that brought the party here. "Well, I'm glad that we could help you win a wager I suppose. I hadn't planned on encountering the Malachite Ring in this way, but, to abuse a metaphor, I suppose sometimes things fall where they're fated to. We haven't had any dealings in the past, but from what I know of you, and from what I've seen of the Protectorate as it operates here in Abril, I'm sympathetic towards what I know of your goals. Perhaps we can use this fall to our mutual advantage if there are any tasks you need completing that might use an eclectic assortment of skills like we could offer.
"Having said that, I do need to be upfront that I've had dealings with the Diamond Knives since arriving in the City as theirs was the territory that I was in at first. I can only assume that needs to be taken into account in for any work we might do for you and would rather have you hear it from me than anyone else.
Would Krat recognize the term Malachite Ring? In theory for his backstory he's cleared his activities with the local thieves guilds and the like, but there's nothing mechanical tied to that.
Krat nods to Eleven_Zee_Alpha, acknowledging her observation, but continues speaking to the voice anyhow, answering the question directed to Gigar. "I'm certain the rumors were nothing you haven't heard given your obvious resources, but we were just investigating the cause of the iron ore shortage from the Vensnak and the new source coming from the Maquaoran Fleet. When there's this sort of change in a system there are often opportunities to be had for those who seek them out, but I'm sure I don't have to explain that to you."
Deciding that it won't be unknown for long and wanting to offer something that might be new to the speaker and usable as a hook or show of good faith Krat offers up the piece of information he's learned which they might be least likely to know at this time. "We did chance to overhear something about a submersible war vessel which was news to us and might or might not have anything to do with the ore shipments, but you probably known more about that we do already."
At the sound of the voice Krat freezes where he is and tries to figure out where it's coming from.
Perception:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
To stall for time while he tries to figure it out he speaks in the direction he thinks it's coming form. "Ah, you must be our host at this point! Perhaps you can help us figure out where we are? We were attempting to find a safe place for our companion to recover, which happily she has, and seem to have fallen down here by mistake."
Diplomacy if applicable:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 (21 if it happens to be a goblin which seems unlikely)
Turning his head as he hears Eleven's voice Krat grins. "We have indeed. And we've made a new friend." Pointing up Transient on the platform above Krat continues. "When you stopped moving we went looking for a safe place to shelter and ended up sliding down that chute to where ever this place is by accident. Transient there followed us down the chute voluntarily and has now demonstrated great value by climbing up there and lowering those ladders. You waking up now is good as hauling you up the ladder would have been harder than you climbing it yourself. Shall we go see where we are?"
With that Krat scrambles up the ladder to join Transient. "Nice work on the climb. I wasn't tempted to laugh even once, though you didn't entertain us by falling like you indicated you might. Now, is there anything interesting up here?"
Krat will look around and then move near the opening and listen to see if he can hear anything moving around to the west.
Perception to detect noises to the west:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Krat nods at Gigar then turns to Transient. "Care to put those strong fingers of yours to use and see if you can climb up there and lower the ladder for the rest of us?"
Frowning again after resuming his Kobold guise Krat shares what he's learned. "I'm not detecting any psionic fields here and I can't see any obvious way out of here. I guess it's time to make a more careful search to see if there's anything mundane that's hidden away."
Moving to the south of the cavern and working his way around the wall clockwise methodically Krat searches for any hidden doors or mechanisms that might provide a way out of cavern.
I'll take 10 (so 19 total) if it's an option as we're not in danger as far as I can tell. If that's not possible here's a roll.
Frowning at the lack of a clear way out of where they are, Krat will use Detect Psionics to see if he can sense anything that might be helpful. As he does so, concentrating on the walls of the cavern he drops psionic focus and his altered appearance drops, revealing his true form. Apparently a goblin with slightly bluish tinted skin he wears a exaggerated kobold mask over his face which is apparently vaguely what he bases his kobold appearance on.
If Krat detects any psionic fields he'll spend the time needed to investigate them using detect psionics. If he doesn't then he'll regain his psionic focus and put his altered appearance back up.
"I don't see anyone else here that we need to worry about immediately. I don't imagine that we were expected just now, so that's something at least."
Krat sees Transient's interest in the crystals, but his attention is more focused on the platform above them. Eyeing the height he crosses his arms and thinks out loud. "I don't suppose any of you happen to have any rope or other scaling tools with you right now?" Approaching the platform he examines it closely for anything that might allow the group access to it.
Is there any sort of scaffolding that we might be able to use to climb up to the platform with a climb check?
"Transient," Transient replied. Both his name and title, description and existence. "I saw you were in trouble. It looked like I could help." It looked like fun.
Sense Motive to see if Krat believes Transient:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
With a roll like that Krat would be completely fooled whether or not he's telling the truth.
Krat eyes the Duergar suspiciously, but when he claims to be here to help the "kobold" shrugs. "If you're here to help, then who am I to complain. We can get introductions out of the way later, but for now I'd like to figure out where we are, if it's safe and how to get out. Do you know anything about this place?"
"Perhaps," Krat replies looking around. "Though I count discovering this space as worth something in the long run. I never would have guessed it was under the depot here, so learning this is most interesting."
Perception to see if anyone else seems to be in the area with them:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
When he hears Transient's giggling approaching down the chute Krat looks quickly to Eleven_Zee_Alpha and moves between her body and the opening where he expects someone to shortly appear.
Yeah, we'll cover things for a bit while you focus on RL. Your health is much more important than the game! When you're up for being back we'll be thrilled to have you!
"Let's see if we can get her in here for now and figure out a plan. Lucky for her she ran into us, today, right? Unless of course it was that disk that was keeping her going and we can't fix it. Then I don't think she can be called lucky no matter how things go."
Krat glances around to see if anyone seems to have followed them or is paying much attention. Assuming there isn't any obvious attention he approaches the nearest door and scans it for traps before trying to gain entrance to the depot.
Perception to see anyone following/watching the party:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19 Perception to find traps on the door:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13 Disable Device to Disable any Traps found:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24 Disable Device to Unlock the Door:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Krat spots a likely spot and motions to Gigar to follow. Talking quietly and gesturing discretely he fills the Medic in on the plan. "We're going to head to that alley and from there try to get into that merchant depot. It should give us a quite space to figure out what's happened to Eleven_Zee_Alpha. Hopefully you've got some idea what to do as resuscitating a construct isn't among my varied skills."
Moving as quickly as he can manage without seeming to hurry Krat guides Gigar to the ally and its inviting shadows.
@Transient, you're lurking and following us based on the post from before. Why not be in the alley behind the merchant depot that we're about to try to sneak into? You could offer to draw any attention away from the Gigar carrying Eleven_Zee_Alpha over his shoulder for reasons that we don't understand and we could go from there perhaps?
Krat raises an eye ridge at the scene of Gigar lifting Eleven up, but otherwise wastes no time looking for a quiet alley to take temporary refuge in. "You be ready to answer questions should any ask. I'll find us somewhere safe."
After gathering the information that he can Krat finds a chance to check in with Eleven_Zee_Alpha and Gigar. "So from what I've gathered it sounds like the call to the Maquaoran Fleet went out from the Overseer of Arbil after the ore shipments from the kobolds stopped. That makes it unlikely that the Maquaoran's were involved in the source of the stoppage in my mind as they wouldn't have needed the summons and likely would already have been on the move and here faster. They could be playing a slower game of course, but it's not what I'd assume without some other evidence."
"The Fleet and Arbil here are trying to negotiate terms in the passive aggressive way these things are wont to go when officials get involved. It didn't sound like anything had been arranged ahead of time. Again, that's probably more evidence against the Maquaoran's involvement ahead of time rather than just trying to take advantage of an opportunity that came up."
"There was also some talk of a submersible vessel of war which, while interesting, probably doesn't affect us directly unless either of you was planning on taking up sailing anytime soon."
Krat, finished passing on the most important points, continues to think out loud a bit longer. "If we were inclined to try to do damage to the Maquaoran Fleet for some reason we'd probably want to get the old supplies of ore up and running again, but thus far I don't have a reason to wish them any particular harm. The citizens of Arbil here don't give me any reason to want to help them either thus far, though that's not particularly surprising, and given that the Fleet and the Protectorate seem to be in competition that's even less of a reason to interfere in a way that hurts the Fleet. Sadly, without a merchant network I don't see an obvious way to try to leverage the situation just now and I know that I don't have an established merchant network at this time."
Krat acknowledged Gigar's plan with an offhand nod and then attempts to get close enough without being noticed to hear what the indicated parties are saying, also listening and watching for anything unsaid.
I'm fine with you taking the adventure where ever it makes the most sense to you and from whatever sources you like. Other than working with psionics instead of magic as the supernatural force in the world and more lizards and insects than mammals (not that you can tell from our characters,) I don't have that many expectations you can shatter by using multiple sources.
I can try another, but diplomacy checks to gather information take 1d4 hours so that should probably just be the start to an unproductive stretch. Letting Eleven_Zee_Alpha and Gigar do some things first likely makes sense? And perhaps Transient will come out of the shadows and interact with us as well.
Of course, with forum games having the pace issues they do, I'll roll another now and you can have it happen when it makes the most sense for the story.
@Storm Dragon, that's diplomacy checks to Influence Attitude that have that penalty for failure, not Gather Information.
Krat nods and backs away, showing what he hopes is proper deference and awe. There's no point taking offense to something like this now, but he makes sure to dock workers and merchants without white togas as targets for his information gathering for the next while.
While Gigar attempts to gain information via the more formal channels, Krat attempts to glean what he can from the local merchants and seamen about the situation in his kobold guise. Mixed in with his browsing of any wares in the shops that have been set up and conversations with sailors about where they've been and what the future might hold Krat listens for any clues that might hint at who might have direct, subtly or overtly, the galleons here. He also keeps an ear open for any business opportunities that might suit himself (and his new companions.)
"Some of that is common knowledge on the streets at this point. Like I said before, this new supply of iron comes from Femon. More specifically it's been delivered by a the galleon of the Maquoran Fleet which doesn't seem to be specialized in iron as there are rumors of all kinds of exotic goods to be had soon."
"It's possible that the stoppage in shipments from Vensnak are related to this new supply, but I wouldn't assume that by default. It's the sort of thing that further investigation would help determine."
Krat's eyes light up a bit and he smiles. "Well now here we have a fine example. Someone has an opportunity at someone else's expense. There are sure to be parties that will want to do something about that. This makes the market near the new iron merchants even more interesting. There are sure to be opportunities there for those clever enough to seek them. Shall we make sure that we know as much about them as possible?"
Krat nods at Eleven_Zee_Alpha's acceptance, saying nothing when she mentions friends.
To Gigar's questions, the kobold gives a small shrug. "You're the type that helps people because they need help. It's a nice quality to find, but it's not particularly common in my experience. I'd like to find opportunities to thrive here in Abril, but I'm not part of the current power structure. Those who are in power probably aren't going to be interested in me taking that opportunity over them. Others also seeking power or opportunity are also unlikely to simply let me act with impunity.
"It behooves me to have people I can trust watching out for me. Our relationship is young, but I hope that I'll be able to trust the two of you to do so. I'm offering to do the same for you. I don't know your goals, but if you're going to tell me that they won't get in the way of anyone who might try to stop you I think I might have to call you naive."
Krat shrugs again. "It's up to you of course. If you don't want to work with me or trust me I certainly can't make you. I'm proposing we give it a chance as, like I said earlier, we're all new here and having someone watching out for you is better than having to watch your back all by yourself."
Krat pauses to peer out a small dingy window. "I wonder if a field run might be useful? I hear that there's a new shipment of steel just come in from Femon. I'd like to go investigate and see if there's anything that might be gained from the commerce given that the city has been iron starved for the past while. Would the two of you care to come with to see if there's anything we can learn together that might benefit us all?"
Krat had looked like a kobold before, the blue one that had interacted with Eleven_Zee_Alpha briefly in the market. It's unclear whether the clothing being worn would change with the ability or not, but Krat's wearing fairly standard white robes (the sort that indicate that one has psionic abilities, so they're not going to stand out much in any case.)
Altered Appearance description:
A distorter has learned to alter her pattern to mask her appearance. As long as the distorter is maintaining psionic focus, as a full-round action, the distorter can change her physical appearance to look like someone else, granting a +10 bonus on Disguise skill checks. The distorter’s size does not change, and she does not gain any special abilities, even if her new appearance would seem to grant it. The effect ends once the distorter is not maintaining psionic focus or it can be dismissed as a free action.
After entering the warehouse and glancing around Krat is happy to see that the others have indeed followed him. Without a word he watches the quick, simple surgery that removes some sort of disk, noting the blue blood and the healing both by Gigar as well as Eleven's body. When the android has stood and smashed her former source of enslavement and both have had a chance to take in where they are and ask their questions the 'dromite' speaks.
"Eleven_Zee_Alpha and companion, it's good to meet you. You can call me Krat. I asked you here because you both seem to be new to this district of the city and at least one of you is interested in not drawing too much attention to herself." He pauses to nod to Eleven. "It happens that I share most of those traits. I've not been here long and, for now at least, don't need too much attention drawn to myself. Given that I was able to pick up on some irregularities in your manner (if you would like to pass as human you need to start blinking more,) and that you," Krat directs this comment at Gigar, "seem eager to be helpful to those around you, I thought that perhaps we would make good allies."
"The city is full of those to potentially be wary of and you both seem to possess interesting skill sets. I would claim that I do as well."
Being careful not move towards either of the others or make any threatening moves Krat once again focuses on his appearance and with a shimmering sort of pattern that surrounds his body, his guise slowly melts from that of a dromite to the kobold that they had seen before.
"For now I would simply propose that we keep an eye out for each other; that we, as newcomers to this area, will be stronger if we work together than if we're navigating the city on our own. I can keep an eye out and let you know if anyone is showing undue interest in you like that ophiduan was earlier. You can do the same for me."
Sence motive, she still has empathy power running, 1d20+8+2
"Thank you, as for going with this Dromite, I can see his mind, He is friendly, and I don't think he is working for that ophiduan. So let's follow, I worry if he found us here others can as well."
@Krat, I think you can make an opposed roll for Bluff or Diplomacy, right?
I guess I can? They're already coming with me to a spot where we can talk which is what I wanted anyhow and they've correctly gathered that I'm not out to do them any harm. I'm leaving it up to you where I'm leading them and what we'll find there. Sadly I don't have Knowledge (Local) yet not having been in the city long enough so the destination might or might not be as empty as I'm planning. Maybe Transient is there (and I might or might not know it; perhaps easier if I do and already have contact with him?)
Diplomacy:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Perhaps not a reason to have much faith in me just yet.
