I'm curious to here from the community how they are using Starfinder for their campaign? Are you going straight from the book and using the Pact Worlds, creating a homebrew setting, or perhaps using your favorite movie/book/video game as inspiration.

I'm just now putting the pieces together to run a Starfinder campaign. There's plenty of movies that I adore and would like to pull ideas from, namely: Alien/Aliens, Blade Runner, Dune, and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.

What's your campaign like?

I'd love to hear what you all are doing for current and future Starfinder campaigns. I'm thinking of running a game which starts in a domed city that has survived an apocalypse, but due to age and overcrowding, is starting to fail. The adventurers are part of an expeditionary force sent out into the wasteland to search for supplies, other survivors, and anything else that can save the domed city. I'm not sure yet if I'm using Pathfinder races, or sticking to Starfinder core. Either way it sounds like a fun idea.

Blade Runner 2049 - best movie of the year.

Have we heard anything regarding Starfinder coming to Hero Lab?

Hello!

I'm creating a character for a 10th level campaign. I'd like to play a ranged character who uses composite bows, but can also cast spells (ranged magus?). If possible I'd like to pattern him/her after the 4e seeker class. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Can a rogue dual-weild rapiers? I'm playing an 5th level rogue (core book) and wanted to make sure I was doing it right.

Is anyone using the above mechanic from 5e for their Pathfinder game? I'm running a 5e campaign but eventually plan to switch back to Pathfinder. I want to include it if possible but want to see how other groups handle it.

Sovereign Court

I'm a fan of Pathfinder, and have a lot invested in the game, but I wonder if Paizo is considering working with the 5e OGL. Perhaps a conversion document? I wanted to get other player's opinion on the matter.

I'm creating a campaign world which uses mythic rules for character creation, think Exalted but for Pathfinder. I'm reading the Mythic Adventures book to get a better understanding of the rules, however, I also want to hear from the community too. Is anyone running a campaign, or have run a campaign in the past, have any insight as to what I should expect? I've been in the gaming hobby since '86 and have a pretty decent grasp of the Pathfinder rules.

Thanks!

Is there any chance that Paizo will move beyond the Dragon Empire Gazetter and publish a full hardback book? The ideas and concepts were great, and I would personally like to see more.

Hello:

I found a map of Caliphas online that had the city mapped and numbered, with a title to go along with the numbers. Where can the actual description of these numbered places? I have the Carrion Crown map folio and Rule of Fear campaign setting, but neither of those have the descriptions that I'm looking for. Thanks in advance.

Hey All:

I ran my first Pathfinder game in quite some time last week. The group is level 5 consisting of a bow-fighter, paladin, saurian druid, and a wizard. I followed the CR guide and set-up the first encounter; needless to say they blew through the encounter in less than three rounds. Now, as they progress threw the campaign I'm left with some rethinking of my encounter building.

Our next game will take them from one city to another, which they will travel through an underground cave system that sits at sea-level. I'm trying to figure out which hazards I should include in the cave system that will pose a challenge. Can you all suggest a few for me? Thanks in advance.

Hello again!

As I gear up to start my Pathfinder campaign, I wanted to introduce a few house-rules that I thought would enhance the game and speed up combat. One of them is a critical strike whenever you roll a natural 20 (no modifiers to the dice), which I like much better than rolling a 20 then confirming it with another roll within the threat range. Now one of my players wants to know which feats he should or shouldn't take since I'm nixing the comfirm-critical roll. My question is this: by taking out the confirmation roll am I seriously borking up combat, or has anyone else done this in their games? Thanks in advance for responding.

Hi All:

Here's my question: I'm putting a game together with 5-6 players. One of my players is playing a druid (after several concepts that didn't quite meet his idea of fun), who is a fast animal handler/ trainer. His druid who specializes in reptiles has managed to train 3-4 of them, including his animal companion. My concern is this: with 3-4 trained animal companions and his druid, this player will be controlling 5 total characters during game and during combat. How many animal companions can he possibly have and is it wrong for me to nix this idea? I can see this character slowing down combat immensely, plus I'm having a hard time trying to figure out why this character would go adventuring in the first place instead of selling his handling services. Thanks in advance for the responses!

I'm starting a campaign for 5 5th level characters. When building my combat encounters my CR is 5, or 6 if I want it to be challenging, correct? Thanks in advance for answering the question and not posting a link to the website.

The title sums it up; how do I go about gearing a party of four 5th level adventurers without giving them too much power, and without gimping them into nothingness. Thanks for the help!

Hello All:

I'm looking to re-boot my old 3.5 Eberron and Forgotten Realms campaigns using the Pathfinder system. I would like to convert some of my favorite races to Pathfinder but I find the Advanced Race Guide to be confusing. Perhaps someone could help me convert a few races, or at the very least point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance for your help! Here they are:

Warforged
Shifter
Dragonborn
Deva
Muhl
Thri-kreen

Now that D&D has released their revamped version of 3.5 (the 'new' books sell for $49.99), and are soon to release D&D Next (or whatever they decide to call it) what's next for Pathfinder? As much as I love the Pathfinder product I don't see how they can continue to base their game on OGL content. It seems to me that we've seen all the books that make sense to for Pathfinder to publish already out (except psionics, which they've said they won't produce).

Personally I would like for them to branch out and try a different genre of game using their Pathfinder rule-set. Perhaps a science-fiction/ fantasy game would work well, or perhaps a game with a modern setting. What I don't want to see is OGL content rehashed and sold as Pathfinder.

Does anyone else have an opinion on this?

Hi All,

I'm looking for 2-3 players that live in the Northern Virginia (Herndon/ Fairfax/ Vienna) area to round out our group. We'll be playing the Rise of the Runelords campaign starting in mid-September. Games will be shceduled for every other Saturday starting at 12:30 - 4:30pm (we may go over depending on the game). So far we have three; myself (GM) and two other players. If you are interested please send me an email.

Hello All:

I'm in the beginnings of running the RotRL campaign, and one of my players has a question about barbarian/ clerics. Can his use supernatural (SU) cleric powers while raging? Thanks in advance for the response.

Sovereign Court

Hi All:

With the release of Rune Lords next week, I plan to pick up the book and eventually run the campaign from. My question is this: do I use the character classes as presented in the Beginners Box (i.e. wizard, cleric, rogue, fighter), or allow players to make their own characters?

Sovereign Court

Does anyone else feel there is a need for Paizo to produce a psionic book for Pathfinder? I'm aware there are third party products available, but unfortunately they don't have the same production value as official Pathfinder material has. I'm use to the hardback books with fantastic artwork within.

Hello again:

Earlier I posted an idea I had for me PA home-brew using the Pathfinder rule system. So far everythng is going well, but I've come across another tricky question:

Are there rules for energy weapons in Pathfinder? I'm specifically talking about lasers, particle beams, ion beams, energy swords, maybe even mono-filament weapons too. I may need to house-rule the items in question, but where's a good place to start? If a regular steel short-sword does D6 on a hit, how much would a energy short-sword or monofilament short-sword do? Do I kick up the hit die by one and make it D8? Also, I wouldn't think that on energy weapons you would get any STR bonus to damage. Perhaps that would balance them out as well?

That's my question so far. Any help that you guys can lend would be appreciated.

Hi All:

I'm creating a PA homebrew using the Pathfinder system. I've taken a map of North America and modified it to fit the campaign; so far I've expanded and widened the Mississippi River, and enlarged and activated the strato-volcano found at Mt. Rainer. I'm still working on the geography of North America, especially the coastlines and the Gulf of Mexico. As of now I've decided not to include the standard fantasy races found in the core book, and will instead create my own (humans will the most populated). I do plan to have magic as it's considered the new technology, not sure on psionics just yet (not real keen on the third-party book). Religion I'm still working on; do I bring back gods from myth and legend? Do I use the monotheistic faiths currently found in NA? Not sure just yet. If you have any suggestions, comments, or questions, please feel free to post them. I've been playing RPGs off and on for about twenty years, but this will be my first time creating my own campaign world. Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know if this is possible? Or perhaps can lend a little advice? Pathfinder has a really well balanced game mechanic that I want to use for Rifts. My problem is knowing where to start; I know what I want the finished product to be, but I have no idea how to get there. I've already crushed Rifts stats to fit Pathfinder. I think my biggest challenge will be figuring a way to convert the damage system. Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.

Hey All,

My question is simple: how should I go about building encounters for a party of six level 2 characters using the high-fantasy build? any suggestions as to which foes I should use? So far I have created two antagonist for them to battle: a level 4 anti-paladin, and a level 3 cleric (chaos/ weather domain). I'm hoping that these two will become recurring enemies. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Hello!

I'm very interested in joining a PbP campaign in regards to Pathfinder rules and setting. PbP seems like a very interesting way to play/ run a campaign.

If anyone has room for an extra player, or would like to start a campaign, please do not hesitate to contact me at twentysider@gmail.com.

Hope to talk to you all soon :)
