1dr0meda and Syzygy - well, the Hacking rules just talk about doing damage, but a Hyper Reality attack sounds like it could be much more flexible in what you could do to your opponent (like "Control Security Camera" on page 281). And there's a line on page 276 : "Like characters, AI Sprites use the Hacking (Hyper combat) skill to make attacks against their enemies" (and I noticed that you listed her skill as "Cyber combat", but there's no such skill listed in the book). So Syzygy can do Hyper Reality attacks, but a Corporate camera has a very high difficulty...

Altho, with the right Trapping, a Psychotropic attack (TAP Engram) could cause the robots to become "Delusional" on an opposed Raise (which is tough to get!), and see things that aren't there, or vise-versa - could Syzygy create that engram on-the-fly (-4)?[/ooc]

Ten-Speed, I'm unclear as to the layout of the first floor - can we make it to the elevator *without* getting closer to the guard bots (i.e., are the elevators are in the opposite direction to us than them)? Even so, what's their running speed vs. ours (6+d6)? And with an average run of 9-10" per round, how many rounds would it take us to get to the elevators? Thanks!

Ghiv, since we're not in combat, I'd assume that you would "eventually" come out of Shaken without a roll, with Ten Speed's blessing...
And, you can speak while Shaken anyway, so you can tell us what you saw up there, once Ten-Speed tells you. :)

As long as the Wild die is successful, the Power goes off, and *then* you get Shaken.
Hey, I went to read up on Remote Sensing, to see if it has a duration that might be affected by your being Shaken, and couldn't find it in either IFZ 2.0 or SWD - where is it?

Why not just make each square 1 pace (which is technically 6 feet according to RAW), and leave it at that? That's how I've done it when I've run SW with maps.

Trying a light switch and seeing one of the ceiling lights flicker on (because of the scrolling, marquee holotag), she adds "There appears to be power to the building, so I'm not sure why anyone would want to set up a generator here. There are some storage rooms on this floor, over there", pointing to the right. "Perhaps that would be a good place to start? Altho I would expect them to have been looted by whoever was camping out here, maybe there's no security still on in them."

"I think the best thing to do would be to keep on the alert for potential defenses, and try to disarm them before they go off. Destroying one defense could trigger others. Turning to Moses, she says "I can't speak for the others, but my resources are at your disposal. What do you think is more important for us to do first, after meeting with Derrick? An attack on Johnny Po (or some other hostile group), or getting me into Yukosawa, my parent's corporate headquarters, to see what resources are available there? Perhaps if you and Derrick join forces, it would be easier to get in."

Altho 1dr0meda *can* increase her Smarts, I'd like to ask *why* you want to. Since Smarts doesn't effect other PC stats (like Strength increases Damage or Vigor increases Toughness), do Androids have a lot of abilities for which you make a Smarts roll? Otherwise, the main reason to increase Smarts would be to make it easier to increase two Smarts-based Skills at once in future advances.

Ten-Speed, I went searching for XP handed out, and found :

3 XP after the scene on the rooftop with the gang (which I missed)
2 XP after the scene with Scales and Teeth
2 XP "for all the RP and split decisions since getting to Phoenix"
3 XP just now

So I've now got one advance, while everyone else has two, since the game started - does that sound about right?

Only one (non-magical) "healing" attempt is allowed per character. Normal wounds can only be tended to within the first hour before they become "permanent", but as a construct you can be repaired at any time, so at least there's that.

Well, 1dr0meda has an "advanced toolkit" which gives a +1 to Repair rolls. There's also the "elite toolkit" which provides a +2. The only other thing I could find in the manual was a "Cyber Tools" cyberarm, which gives +2 to Repair rolls. Those, plus the fact that she has a d6 in Repair, and that androids don't subtract their Wounds from their rolls, should help make self-repair a cinch.

Ten-Speed - even tho she doesn't subtract her Wounds when making a Repair skill roll, does she still subtract her Wounds *as the target of the Repair roll*? The IFZ manual says Repair "is used like the Healing skill", which would seem to imply that she would, but it isn't definitive.

Taking a look around, Kitsune bellows at the top of her voice "EVERYONE CEASE FIRE! Our problem was with Maji, not you! Jasper is your true leader, and he would not want this bloodshed!"

Then she dives for cover, in case any of the children are currently armed and unconvinced...

Ten-Speed, whatever happened to Jasper? Did his mind clear up after Maji was killed? Has he left the building where he and Alannah were, having heard the sound of gunfire? "Inquiring minds want to know..."

Kitsune, while not blood-thirsty, *is* practical, and will draw her katana and administer a Finishing Move to Maji, to make sure she's dead.

Recalling 1dr0meda's instructions to just keep her TAP off to avoid the ghosts, she will then do a quick shut-down of her TAP, to see if the ghosts go away.

Calling to 1dr0meda, she asks "1dr0meda, can these ghosts do *anything* bad to us if we turn off our TAPs?"

Finally, she exists the tent to assess the situation outside (moves 6").

She's got Quick Draw, so no MAP to draw the sword. Finishing Move has no roll, neither does a quick TAP shut down. So - woo-hoo, 3 actions with no MAP! :)

That's called going on "Hold", and it's a little different than in Pathfinder. You can't take *any* Actions before going on Hold (even Movement), but you don't have to declare the trigger for going off Hold in advance.
If you come off Hold to interrupt another character's actions ("I'm going to shoot the guy who just came around the corner and is pointing his gun at Fritz"), you both make an Agility roll, and whoever rolls higher acts first.
If you stay on Hold thru the entire round, you remain on Hold for the next round (you don't get a new initiative card).
