Khufu nods back at Irakelesh. "Well that sounds good. I'm sure the dragon is going to want to be reasonable after Nak'T Akh explains everything."
"Anybody understand what he said?" Khufu asks as he contemplate how fast he would have to run to beat the others back to the rope.

Khufu looks at the others as Nak'T flies forward: "What could go wrong?"
"I think it should be wrapped in copper wire." "Maybe our new friend can speak with the dragon and work something out. Providing his draconic is some ancient version that modern dragons don't understand."
"I believe she is correct. It seems remarkable that it would lair this close to people, but it could have slept here for quite some time." "It has likely taken the crystal from above to be part of its treasure hoard. Convincing it to relinquish it, even in a good cause, could prove difficult."
"I would appreciate some help Nak'T." Khufu says. "I don't have a lot of experience with ropes."
"I did not bring a rope." Khufu repies to Irakelesh.
"Look....there's tracks here leading away from the machine." "Perhaps someone took the quartz recently."
"It focuses it's power through a piece of quartz, wrapped in conductive copper." "Some wretch must have happened along and removed it." "Does anyone see anything like that." he asks, raising his hand up to shield his eyes and focus his gaze as he looks around the building.
"Let's see if we can tell what we are looking for."
"Let's take the stairs and see this device for ourselves."
"Well, the first step is to climb this ladder."
"So this one of the priests compasses isn't going to help us find a necromancer in the necropolis." "Should we start to search the old fashioned way?"
Khufu raises his fingers up to his lips and blows whisps of smoke away.

Before we head up the ladder, Khufu uses his wand to cast Mage Armor on himself and Little Ra.
I would nominate myself for the ectoplasmic rod.
"Off to the Silver Chain hideout!" Khufu agrees. "Scrawkkk!!!" Little Ra chimes in.
"So you think there might be an entrance into the Necropolis in the hideout of the Silver Chain we found earlier?" Khufu asks Ptemenib to make sure he understands. "If that's the case, then I think we should start our investigation there."
"Squalor seems like a strong word...." Khufu says. Little Ra scrawks in agreement.
"You look remarkably well preserved for being over six thousand years old." Khufu says in surprise as he does the math.
"I was indeed brought up in the faith of Ra." Khufu tells Aliva. "Devotion to the Sun has long been important to my family." "Do you have many gods in this Lastwall place you come from?"
Khufu nods to Irakelesh "Yes, Little Ra is infused with the power of our deity and is his servant. In that way, I suppose, you could say that he has chosen a mate for life."
"Certainly. Sit down my friend." Khufu answers Aliva. "Scrawkk!" Little Ra agrees loudly. "Don't mind him." Khufu tells Aliva. "Our Lord's blessings have accelerated in him and he is growing more spirited."
Khufu gets himself cleaned up and grabs a fresh robe. When the others see him next, he is getting something to eat in the common room of the inn. He is having a roast chicken and a cup of wine. As he eats, he is trimming off bits of bird and tossing them to Little Ra as the hawk sits on the back of the chair next to him at the table.

"My gifts come from my Lord Ra. His power is inimical to those who dwell in darkness." Khufu tells Nak'T Akh.
"We're going to have to rest before we tackle a city full of undead." Khufu says.
Priest guy did say we would fight until "the majority of combatants on one side fall unconscious". Two-thirds of them have been down for a couple of rounds.
with this last scorching ray, Khufu is just about tapped out. It was a pretty good set of rolls though.
Khufu staggers to his feet. Then with Nak't down and the winged creature clear of combatants, Khufu focuses some of the last of his magical power into a ray of fire he directs at the enemy. "Feel the power of the sun god!" he shouts out. His hawk familiar spreads its wings and shrieks at the same time. (touch attack)
Khufu tries his wand again.
Khufu fails to activate his wand.
Khufu convulses as he wakes from unconsciousness. He rolls over, spitting blood and pulls a healing wand from his belt.
Khufu drops to the ground as the bear-gator gashes him in the stomach. His hawk familiar screeches in fear and launches itself to flies in circles above the downed sorcerer.
"Gods be damned....those bear things bite hard!!!!" Khufu exclaims. The hawk perched on his shoulder shrieks in alarm and flaps its wings as he master is savaged by the beasts bite and claws. He steps back away from the bear creature, one hand clutching at his wounds while the other raises to gesture at the bear-thing and unleashes another gout of flame to burn it. (DC16 Reflex for half)
"Let's get on with it." Khufu says. He moves up next to Nak'T Akh with his robe billowing out behind him and directs his right hand towards the group of psychopomps with his fingers splayed. "Ignatium!!!" he shouts and he releases a gout of fire to wash across them. (DC16 Reflex for half)
Khufukhaf looks at the Pharasma worshipers and says: "Dragon-guy says he's going to go fight the undead tomorrow either way. So I guess he's in."
Khufu leans over to Nak't and says: Ancient Osirian: "The old guy we rescued earlier just suggested we go into the necropolis to find out what is stirring up the undead. The angry guy doesn't think we're up to it and wants to used summoned outsiders instead, and the friendly one wants us to perform some demonstration."
"While summoned psychopomps might be a solution inside the grave city, they would do too much damage to the regular citizens." "With rest, we can strike back out to investigate and find the source of the necromancy."
"Certainly .... we are at your service."
As the bear-thing attacks, Khufu's hawk familiar screeches and leaps into the air to circle shrieking in consternation. "Oh no....it's got me!" he cries with his left arm trapped in the bear-thing's jaws.
He struggles to pry the jaws apart to free his arm helplessly. Then Ai'sha steps up and slices it across the back, killing it. As it collapses, Khufu struggles out of the now limp jaws and staggers to his feet. "Oh my goodness .... thank you Ai'sha and Nak't. Those things were faster than they appeared." His hawk circles once more and then swoops in to land on his padded shoulder. He leans his spear against the wall of the house next to him and withdraws and Wand of Cure Light Wounds. He sets to work and quickly closes the puncture wounds in his left arm.
Khufukhaf raised his right hand towards the two assailants, shouts "Ignatium" in an arcane language, and directs a gout of flame at the two assailants. Casting Burning Hands at the two enemies.
Khufu moves to the north of the mystery bear-crocodiles. He tries to dodge past the one engaged with Aliva.
but it's obvious that he's not very dextrous.
"I don't know, but they don't look friendly."
"Do we need to head back to the inn to find a secure place to rest?"
"Close the door." gesturing to the door to the room with the Mumia factory. "I knew fire was a better answer." "Do we need to evacuate him to a place of saftey?" nodding at Irakelesh.
