"They seem fine to me either way." Kharya equivocates.
"Lighten the scowl a touch. You're not wrong; she has it on the inside, but she wouldn't want to stomp on morale that hard."
Kharya immediately starts putting Lisbend through their paces, encouraging her to meld her scrappy, pugilistic nature with the idea that eyes are always on her. Everything's a fight, and everything's a show.
Kharya is immediately charmed by the spirited gnome. "She's reading for Esi, but what do we think about having them strap on an Inferno suit of her own? I mean, look at her stance, that is fierce!"
"The muscles and armor can be manufactured. We need someone who can handle themself, someone who has the right fire."
"My finest work? You're looking at her," Kharya brags, showing off the flawless craftsmanship and innovation of Inferno.
"We'll make sure to dim the lights if there's anything we don't want people staring at too closely."
"If only punching was asked for even more often," Kharya says with a sarcastic smile.
Kharya lets the rapier punch through her armor with a grunt, hoping the suction of the wound will trap the blade for long enough for her to finish the fight.
Kharya's armor and shield turn a deadly lunge into barely a scrape, and she keeps lunging for him until she can land a hold, certain that in a game of attrition she's sure to come out on top.
Kharya barks out a laugh and shuffles forward, leading with a jab and then rushing up trying to get him in a close grab where the only thing his blade can reach is her shield!
Kharya leers and slaps her helmet onto her head. "Spells?" Inferno shoots out jets of flame as Kharya shifts into Overdrive. "Never touch the stuff."
Kharya keeps chuckling at Mr. Scaley, never quite getting used to his existence. "The rich and powerful in my home were still not permitted such... Variance." She perks up at Ivran's challenge. "Duels though are quite familiar."
"Friction means heat and clashes mean sparks," Kharya agrees, "We just have be able to ground them at need."
Kharya's just glad that Inferno's mask makes her grimace into a decent poker face...
"Sensible enough. Aphigenia's affections can't have left no trace."
Athletics and Crafting go to Legendary, Strength and Intelligence reach their peak, Con and Wis get better. I do more damage with all hits, and then more-more when I overdrive. Instead of just resisting piercing I now also resist slashing and bludgeoning with my new Revolutionary Innovation on Inferno, and picked up some additional resistance to bleeding to boot!
"Retirement? Pah. The labor of this show is nearly too little as it is." Kharya stretches, and collapses Inferno onto her back with a smile. "One day on the beach before returning to Kintargo though shouldn't go amiss."
Inferno flaring around her in a fiery spectacle, Kharya seizes Timdok and lifts him bodily off the ground, flinging him into the air to complete his own stunt!
Kharya gives the trick bookcase a restorative thump to get it rotating again. "Easy fix, not to worry."
I just have to speak the opposite of Pyric and I'm golden!
The squatly powerful dwarf flexes and does a standing backflip! It was acrobatic - it was not a dance.
Inferno flaring as it reassembles around her body, Kharya braces herself and sings a note that, while it may not be precisely modulated, is certainly loud.
Kharya resorts to the simple expedient of collapsing Inferno off of herself to do a quick change she has already needed for battle in the past!
"Well this is just silly - we know that any properly authenticated and registered copies of the will have been destroyed. If you're going to try to perpetrate this sort of farce, you may as well at least wave around a piece of parchment with Nothing On it. Or make some loud bangs, crashes, fireworks, some Noises Off to the side or anything to distract us from this absolute abdication of your duties as an executor. Why are you holding fast from any disbursements in any case? Certainly not on behalf of your client - You Can't Take it with You!"
"Well I don't care what the deceased supposedly informed you, even you don't dispute that written out in pen and parchment was a bequest to my client of the library and and any other writings possessed by Lord Talbot. Clearly this extends to any and all coinage that bears written text, and I would not be serving my role as an advocate if I were to pretend otherwise."
Kharya instinctively smiles at Oriole's beauty, but quickly smooths out her expression into a scowl. "And how are we supposed to get an invitation in or out past the dragon? No, better we came to make our offer in person."
"As gems shine brightest in the light, if you wish Oriole to attain the height of their art, you must allow them to broaden their horizons and learn from others. Even soloists stand out more proudly against the rest of their company."
Kharya coughs in embarrassment and turns her head away in a gesture towards the woman's modesty. "Our apologies my lady. We did not know what awaited us."
Kharya swipes for Miavri again, trying to get him back in her grasp.
Kharya grabs on even tighter to Miavri as he struggles, Inferno flaring as she heaves herself up into the air, twisting around to slam Miavri into the ground as she lands on him with all her armored weight!
Kharya is forced back by the relentless push of the birds' sonic lances, but she fires up Inferno and hurls herself back into the fray!
Kharya pauses, taking in what she assumes is Esi's meaning. "Such urgency and languor are rarely paired."
"You mean that was right?"
Kharya tries to help Cerulean in their attempt to end this quickly, but prepares for a longer battle nonetheless.
"Ha!" Kharya gives the spinosaurus a friendly pat on her flank. "Okay the dinosaur is growing on me."
Kharya keeps chasing after the fleeing fey, heavy blows from her hands crushing bone with every strike!
Kharya rushes forward like a dynamo! Bones crack and feathers fly as she hurtles in and past them, battering two of the horrid bird things before moving back towards the singer to give them the same!
If it takes a Concentrate Action:
"Euuurggh! What in the Hells are those things?!" Kharya cries out in unthinking dismay, readying herself for a knock-down drag out fight.
Kharya breathes in the muggy air with joy, the rain carrying a near endless supply of heat away from her muscled frame. "Ahhhh. This is what the free air should feel like. Never saw the rain 'til I met you fine folk."
"It's certainly waiting for something. I could give it a fist to the jaw?"
"Maybe we can at least send them a letter?"
"If we're here to tell our story, make it our story. It'll be spectacular enough if we just keep to the simple truth."
