Thanks for running this scenario for us, Gm Tyranius, even while you were dealing with all the Con stuff. I enjoyed myself immensely.

Kastien stepped out of the fog with his pistol raised, looking for the creature that had just escaped his grasp. Casually he remarked, "A Musetlid walked into a bar on Rikel. The bartender said 'Oi! We don't see too many of your kind around here. Whatcha want to drink? It's on the house."

Kastien sighted carefully and pulled the trigger on his handcoil.

"Pop, goes the weasel!"

Kastien climbs up to the stage, pistol in one hand and gauntlet raised to strike in the other. His senses were fully enxtended, even using his telepathy to sense the mind of the crazed Ipsoth.

As soon as he encountered the terrorist, he struck out, misjudging the strike in the fog.

"Here, he's over here!"

Kastien easily sidesteps the vines and moves forward, concentration set on dragging Ipsoth into the viny patch with him. With a mental effort, Kastien sucked all his stored graviton energy into himself, with a directional focus on Ipsoth.

Kastien reared back and slammed his gauntlet into the face of the nearby terrorist, hoping to send the man out of the fight with a single blow. He held his stored energy in check, waiting for an appropriate time to use it.

Kastien charged straight into the nearest terrorist, charging up the graviton particles around him and readying himself to pull all the bad guys into one location.

In a fluid motion, Kastien slipped from Vossi's back and raced into battle. Along the way he hurtled a bar and slid into some protective shrubbery. Darkness gathered around him as his graviton powers went into effect.

Kastien is not a sneaky guy. Cutting down Ipsoth with the heavy weapons mounted on the jeeps would be fine with me...if it weren't for the hostages.

Finally Kastien resorts to words.

"Thank you for the offer, magnificent one. I will take it in the spirit intended, with no thought of obligation or binding. When you are ready for me to depart, I will. Until then, it is an honor and a privilege."

Kastien will mount up on the Renkroda when they are ready to head out, offering an arm to assist Jaqweh up.

If there is time, Kastien will spend the RP and restore stamina. If time is of the essence and Vossi is anxious to be going, then I'll make do with what I have.

"Nobody attack her! Let's try talking to her instead."

Using the bioimplant in his throat, Kastien begins to send soft sound similar to those he used on the micro-raptors earlier. These were deeper, though, set to sooth and encourage. In his mind, he was thinking thoughts of peace and leaving the nice people alone. He continued to support Jaqweh's words, using emotional pushes rather than actual words.

He ignored Wraith's words until the renkroda was under control, tossing her the gewgaw and not thinking much more about it. His concern was with the living, the balance of all things, not bits of technology.

Kastien hit the ground rolling, trying to ensure he didn't get stepped on. He leaped back to his feet and tried again, this time aiming for a clump of feathered mane just above where the device was. If he could just get a good enough grip...

Kastien took a running leap, trying to bounce from Vossi's lead leg to his neck, where he would attempt to remove the device.

Kastien continued to focus on Vossi, using the taclash to whip the renkroda across the legs, letting the electrical discharge of the whip whittle the giant creature's endurance down. He looked at the device on Vossi's neck, wondering if there was a way to remove it and calm the fiercesome creature.

Kastien jumped off the buggy and moved into taclash range. "I hate to do this, but you are right. If we can knock the renkroda unconscious, then we can deal with its implant."

Tentatively he swung the taclash. Though he had trained in the use of such ewapons, they weren't his favorite, and gripping it in his gauntleted hand was awkward.

Kastien, seeing how this was going to play out, removed his gauntlet before getting into the vehicle, and lashed himself to a roll bar with a bit of cable. Taclash in one hand and pistol in the other, he was ready to go...even if his driver wasn't. He took a chance and shot at one of the riders, trying to remove a sniper from the equation.

"Perhaps we could try luring him into another enclosure? I know Jaqweh and I failed with the compsikania, but in theory it should have worked. Perhaps the renkroda will be more receptive? I am loathe to kill it, but I would more than happily squash the beings that are using the renkrodas as a platform for their foul machinations!"

"That name is not familiar to me, either. What do we know about him...her...it?"

Kastien was still plagued from the poison experience, and took the drive time to rest and recover.

Kastien slumped with relief as the last of the formians dropped, though his body was still wracked with pain. After this mission, he was definitely going to invest in something to help boost his immune system.

Kastien gasped as the formian's stinger drove into him, but he ignored the cold fire spreading from the wound. This...is why...I hate...fighting...formians!" he said as he punctuated each phrase with a punch at his foe. Apparently the poison did have an effect, even if only on his concentration, because his blows were sloppy.

Kastien followed up Brolie's charge with one of his own, rearing back as he ran with his pulse gauntleted hand. He slammed his strike into the formian, feeling chitin crunch under his armored hand. As he did, he shouted "Shoot this one!"

Kastien slipped into Graviton mode, feeling comfort in the fact that he was in the darkness once more. Concentrating, he wrapped the gravitons around him in a protective shell, then moved forward.

"The one we found had some kind of bio-nanite sensor or controller. My guess is that that is how they are controlling the renkroda. Let's got those vehicles and get some reinforcements here."

Kastien waved to the others and led them int he direction of the vehicle shed Radazsam had indicated.

Any lingering effects from that poison?

Kastien felt his stored energy drain away, even as the small pack of raptors did. It wasn't until he had taken the antivenom from Kaylee that he felt well enough to speak.

"That was...an interesting example of the oneness of the Universe, though I did not intend to seek it in the many bellies of a raptor pack! I think we do need to get back to Radazsam with our report, and carry these two with us. If that science gizmo truly is set to identify bio-nanites, then I am afraid that we may have found one of the terrorist group that we were warned about. Maybe they are planning on attacking with nanites. That would be very, very bad. Given the sudden lack of working comm units, I think we might be under attack even as we wait. So, let's not dally!"

Kastien shook his head to clear it, focusing on keeping his attunement to the photonic aspects of the universe strong. In a few seconds, he was going to be able to explode with excess power. For right now, he just exploded his stomach contents onto the ground. He stumbled towards the raptors and mumbled, "You all might want to step back a bit."

Kastien stumbled out of the compsikania pack, retching and trying to focus on clearing his mind so that he could balance out his stellar energy. Without being able to concentrate, though, it was very difficult.

Leaving it up to the GM to decide whether I can switch to Unattuned while under the Nauseated effect. If not, then this round I become fully graviton-attuned.

"Well yes, I can, but that isn't...I mean, I don't normally go for that...I can try."

Kastien staggered back out of the pack with a few nibbles on his armor, but was mostly concerned with how they were going to get out of this one.

Kastien's form flickered slightly as the universal power of gravitons spun out from him like gossamer webs, drawing in the light around him slightly. The effect was immediately countered by a sparkling mesh effect that seemed to coat his body in liquid lightning as he used his stellar mote in the form of protective armor. Concentrating, he wrapped the darkness around the light, making himself an eye-bending mix of light and shadow.

Entering graviton mode. Move to activate solar armor. Move to activate Dark Matter, giving me DR 2/-

"It wants us to follow it. This way, people!"

Kastien leads the others after the therapod.

"I am training to be a xenoseeker and have experience talking with them. Perhaps I can communicate with it, in a fashion."

Kastien crouched down in front of the creature and began making little chirps and purring sounds.

As Muldoi stopped to take his call, Kastien noticed something about the enclosure, and moved to get a closer look.

Will hold off on responding to the perimeter alert until I know what is up with the pen.

Kastien drifted over to the information kiosk, reading the blurbs there and playing with the interactive controls before moving back over to the kasathan standing by the pen.

"As a child, I always wanted to ride one of these creatures. I guess most of our people did as children. But then we grow up and realize that they are magnificent creatures that don't deserve that kind of exploitation. I am Kastien, a Seeker of Balance and Oneness. And who might you be"

"Oh, okay, wow. I wouldn't have expected them to have a renkroda pen in here. Isn't that...unnecessarily dangerous? I think I'm going to head that way and see what people there are talking about."

Kastien joined Brolie in heading over to the pens.

"Fascinating animals, renkrodas. Majestic and fierce, but somehow I never did figure out where they fit in the ecological niche. They seem to clumsy to be ambush predators, too large to be carrion eaters, and too clumsy to have survived. And that colorful plumage! In the jungle or in the plains where they can be found, it seems like it would stick out like a sore thumb."

Kastien tweaked the knobs on his new holoprojector, marveling at how it turned his armor into something resembling formal wear, and then to flowing robes, and then to something that looked an awful lot like a hoodie and sweatpants. He wasn't too thrilled with the default settings, but with a little time he was sure he could make it work with styles he was more comfortable with.

At the check-in station, Kastien waves off the security. "I have no larger weapons, and these are discrete enough, I think." He motioned to his holstered pistol with the camouflaged power gloved hand.

Kastien looked around the area, and down at the invitation in his hands. He is a litle shorter than the average korasha, with the stocky build that comes with choosing the path of the warrior. His greenish skin is mottled with darker green saddles and spots, giving way to a cream color over his abdomen. His antennae are fairly short, and the bulky glove on his right hand looks out of place, despite being colored to match his mottled skin.

"It is good to be back on Castrovel, Venture-Captain. And the renkrodas! I mean, is there a lashunta child that doesn't daydream of having a renkroda pet? Or riding one through the jungles and plains? It is a very noble thing, this cause. Of course, it's not surprising that there is resistance to it. Ukulam has always been a sore spot for our people. It will be good to show the Starfinder presence here, and to get involved with the preservation of a species."

Kastien moved through the open door and stared in wonder at the hallway lined with other, similar doors. Then, he turned and saw the digital readout and gaped some more.

"Does this...does this mean that there are at least 20,000 more areas like this? Simulations of some sort? But for what purpose? This is...vast. Monstrous, maybe. And yet...and yet something pulls at me to try and understand. A large network of ongoing simulations regarding the motives behind sophont actions could be an attempt to understand the universe. It stirs the Seeker in me to want to know more. I wonder if it would be possible to be on more Starfinder missions to this place? I think I would like that very much."
