I'm working on retooling this character for the campaign. One quick question: Given this character's focus (channeling both positive and negative energy) would you allow me to spend a significant portion of her gold on a phylactery of channeling both positive AND negative energy? Since the cost of one of the phylacteries is normally 11,000 gp, I would probably put the cost of a combined one at around 30,000gp.

Positive energy: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 4, 4) = 18 healing to allies. Negative energy: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 3, 4, 5) = 20 damage to only Sword and Spade. If Sword and/or Spade are still standing after this, she will expend an additional two uses of channel energy for the day to use Swift channel, just using negative energy.

I'll just list out all the non-self-only buffs that have been cast and who is affected by each one: communal air walk - (affects everyone except my summoned creature, since I summoned her after it was cast) allows us to walk into the air as if it were solid ground, maximum angle upwards or downward movement is 45 degrees. magic circle against evil - (affects everyone, assuming we were wisely grouped together within 10 feet of Jeevika, and only lasts while within 10 feet of her) - +2 Deflection bonus to AC and +2 resistance bonus to saves, both only applying vs. evil creatures. Evil summoned creatures can't enter the area around the person touched. haste - (affects everyone) - extra attack on full attack, +1 to attack rolls, +1 Dodge bonus to AC, +30 feet movement bless - (affects everyone) - +1 Morale bonus to attack rolls and saves vs. fear effects prayer - (affects everyone) +1 Luck bonus to attack rolls, damage, saves, and skill checks This comes out to a total of +3 to AC vs. evil creatures, +3 to attack rolls vs. evil creatures, +1 to damage rolls, +1 on AC vs. non-evil creatures, +3 on all saves, +4 on saves vs. fear, and +1 on skill checks. :-D Then Corlis, you'll also have to calculate the bonuses you get from enlarge person, which is essentially +0 to attack, +1 to damage and -2 to AC.

Heh, I definitely counted wrong, thinking there were six ten-second rounds in a minute instead of ten six-second rounds. LOL. I'll just add one more buff at the beginning, and then the other buffs I posted will be cast in rounds 5-10, all under Jake's obscuring mist. Rounds 1-3: Karlia will go through a short ritual of prayer to her pirate goddess, Besmara, which will involve a karate-style "form" or "kata" using her greyflame rapier.

Karlia actually has a +8 vs. all mind-affecting effects thanks to the constant mind blank effect she has from the "Utterly Inscrutible" ability of Envoy of Balance: Envoy of Balance, so her save was a 30, and she is probably not affected by the dominate person spell. I'm going to change what I planned on before just a bit, now that there are tentacles and the enemy is closer to her. Karlia will choose the +2 attack, AC and Ref saves for this round from Divine Favor. She then uses a Swift action to channel negative energy (taking up two daily uses to do it as a Swift), excluding her teammates. Liliara, Marthysan, and Chung Po can all make Will saves, DC 20.
She then uses a move action to use her copycat spell-like ability to create an illusory double of herself that will last for 5 rounds. Finally, she begins casting a summoning spell, which will use up her Standard action for both this round and next round. She is summoning a Rast using summon monster V. Its stats will include a +4 to Str and Con from Augment Summoning, and a +2 to Will saves from Summon Neutral Monster.

Huzzah! So happy I made it in! Karlia stands proud, her victory having been assured by the jet-black skeleton with raven's wings she had summoned. She wears grey robes over a gleaming chain shirt and deep black leather leggings, and her left eye is obscured by a well-stitched eye patch flaunting the holy symbol of her pirate goddess, Besmara. A rapier wreathed in deep grey flames is held in her right hand, and a heavy steel shield is strapped to her right. Her short blonde hair shows no sign of perspiration, and in fact she shows almost no sign of exertion. Ignoring all the fanfare around her, Karlia looks toward the short man. "Now that I've defeated this poor wretch, I will be on my way to the tournament. Thank you for the opportunity to prove my goddess's power."

Quick question: Do you allow custom-made items at all? I'd like for Karlia to have a phylactery of negative AND positive channeling, which would cost approximately 27,500 gp (that's the cost of one phylactery plus 1.5x the cost of the other phylactery). Would you allow such a thing? Edit: Bah, I've already got a headband of mental prowess on her, which means the item would have to take up a different slot, which means it would cost approximately twice as much, so I can't afford it anyway. :-P

Karlia flails with her rapier against the frog's mouth, knowing she's better off to try to kill it than to escape from its grapple. Rapier attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
She then expends two uses of her channel energy daily allotment to channel negative energy as a Swift action, excluding all 6 of her allies that are within 30 feet thanks to Selective Channel. Channel negative: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3, 3, 6) = 17, DC 20 Will save for half damage. Her summoned Shae uses lesser shadow evocation to cast a quasi-real frigid touch spell, delivering it to the frog that is biting her. Concentration: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Her spell-like ability fizzles, unfortunately. Side-note, the Shae has constant blur so the frog would have had to make a miss-chance roll on the attack against her, I should have mentioned that before though.

A Shae appears next to Karlia. "Attack the frogs, my friend! Make them wish they were never tadpoles!" Karlia appreciates terrible humor, BTW... The Shae moves to the frog to the bottom-right of the map and attacks it with her masterwork falchion.
