About Karlia Riftbane

Karlia was born in a small town outside of Absalom, to a pair of mage parents, her mother a wizard and her father a sorcerer. Given her arcane upbringing, it was all but assured that she would study the arcane arts as well, but her childhood was cut short by a battle between two arcane casters near their town. Her parents had gone to spectate this combat, which was between summoned creatures, a devil on one side against an angel on the other. Unfortunately, the combat got out of hand and several spectators were killed, including Karlia's parents. She vowed on that day to rid the world of the influence of outsiders, both good and evil.

After being raised by an aunt, Karlia left home to pursue an adventurer's life, finding herself on a pirate ship as a cabin girl at age 16. The pirate's life appealed to her, and she found herself drawn to the teachings of the ship's cleric of Besmara. The cleric taught her the rites of the Besmaran priesthood, as well as how to summon outsiders of her own to fight those that have been brought to this plane. Karlia sees these summoned creatures simply as tools to be used to remove outsiders from Golarion, and doesn't give a second thought to the hypocritical nature of her actions.

After several years of piracy, Karlia decided to leave the ship. She now travels from port city to port city, finding ways to banish outsiders who have established footholds in civilized society. She hopes one day to travel to both Cheliax and the Worldwound, once she has acquired enough power to banish the evil outsiders from these places.

DESCRIPTION

A shae's touch saps heat from living creatures, leaving patches of colorless flesh rather than physical wounds. A shae can deal 1d6 points of cold damage with a touch. It adds +1d6 points of cold damage to any melee weapon damage it deals.

Lesser Shadow Evocation (Sp)

This spell-like ability functions identically to the spell shadow evocation, but it can only create quasi-real versions of sorcerer or wizard evocation spells of 2nd level or lower. This spell-like ability is the equivalent of a 3rd-level spell.
