I've been struggling with the format of this game, honestly. I think it's a bit too loose for me-- no slams against the GM or the players, but I really prefer my Pathfinder games to have more structure and follow the rules more closely. I've been hesitant to pull the trigger on that feeling, but maybe now is the time. Thanks for letting me play with you for a short while, everyone, and happy gaming!

Karinna presses her advantage where she pinned her quarry and stabs at Lamm again with her rapier. She steps sideways to try and flank him with Bridgette.

I just want to point out that Karinna has been stationed by the door and was specifically watching for Lamm. I also said that she opened the door once everyone was ready, though presumably Lamm came in while we were still preparing. Still, wouldn't Karinna at least get to roll initiative before he moves away again?

Karinna watches from her position near the door as the others loot the chest. When she sees that they are ready to continue, she helps lead the way forward by opening the door. "Lamm must be around here somewhere," she mutters quietly to the group.

Not that it matters, but confusion says that Azig has to attack the last person that attacked him for the duration of the effect, or roll if no one has attacked him. Both Thoric and Bridgette attacked him (grapples), so Azig doesn't roll any more, and just goes after the last attacker.

Karinna stands up from listening at the door. "I think I can hear Lamm's voice, but it sounds distant, like it is coming from one of the rooms beyond this one. It may be wise to take this opportunity to prepare ourselves for the confrontation, if we have any special items or magic to aid us."

While the group recovers from the fight (and waits to hear what connection the mage had, if any, to Lamm), Karinna moves to the door and listens carefully for movement or voices.

Karinna reads the mannerisms of the rest of the party and stays on her guard against the hostile newcomer. She holds her rapier at the ready and takes an aggressive stance near the arcanist, almost daring Balko to make the first move.

Karinna politely acknowledges everyone, and quirks an eyebrow of slight concern when she thinks she recognizes the death’s-head fly symbol of Urgathoa on Daranil’s belt. She shrugs, as if to say A question for another time. ”Oh, well-spotted!” she murmurs, and listens carefully to the distance as the ratfolk rogue disarms the trap.

Karinna gives a half-ironic salute with her rapier and bows slightly. "Perhaps I should not be surprised to find others here with an ax to grind against our mutual acquaintance. Lamm seems to make friends wherever he goes. I am Karinna, ensign of the Korvosan Guard. But don't worry, I'm off-duty. I've received reports of abducted and abused children here, and I'd like to ask their caretaker some very pointed questions about them." She smiles grimly.

Karinna gives the others a quick evaluating look to determine they are all apparently on the same side. "Introductions can wait," she smirks, and moves to keep the retreating bandit she wounded flanked.

Karinna could certainly hang out at the same tavern Lem and Bridgette inhabit. That seems like an easy way for us to know each other, and to at least be aware that we all have an ax to grind with Lamm. Is it possible that we also know one or more of the other characters? Are we coming in as independent expeditions, or maybe as backup? Could we have been nearby and heard a ruckus?

Karinna is investigating Gaedren Lamm in her role as a member of the Korvosan guard, hoping to find clues as to the whereabouts of her old friend and mentor, Cardoña-- Lamm recently sold a ring that once belonged to Cardoña to a local jeweler. Karinna has also heard complaints about local children going missing, presumably kidnapped by Lamm. She's well-known in this part of the city (the Midlands district) as a minor noblewoman serving in the guard, and she is considered charismatic and competent by those who have interacted with her. (She has the Renown social talent, which means people in the area are one category friendlier with her by default.)

Hi everyone! Glad to be stepping into this game, and I hope we can restore the momentum with the new blood. Karinna is a junior member of the Korvosan Guard, so I assume that will have something to do with her arrival on the scene. Or maybe we've all been casing the joint separately and happened to initiate our Lamm attacks at the same time? :)
