I made Kallan here for a AdvPath that unfortunately never got up and running. Still love the concept of a shady thief with a pointy knife. He surely would join the pathfinder society of multiple reasons for examble the travels or simply for at warm bed. Anyway Kallan Viper is ready to take the first few steps into the large world of the Pathfinder Society.

Completely understandable however sad - but the cards we were dealt apparently just didn't hold up. Really sad to be honest! But Nayr THANKS for trying - and ya other damn cool characters will cry my beggareyes out tonight as the cold wind of Riddleport serves as covers for the night :-) As for Kallan - he will find himself at the top of that arch learning to fly before long, realizing that's not possible, he quickly curses himself for not learning how to swim!!!

As the cat-man seem friendly enough Kallen looses up a bit.
See you two shortly when I have become rich he grins somewhat stupidly. Then make a waving motion and turns to tables. Kallan decides to mix in with the crowd Kallan keeping a bit out of sight. He slowly makes his route around the tables in hope someone have dropped a coin or two.

As the cat like creature approaches Kallan unintentionally take a step backwards, You are that cat that fell out of the window? Wondering how to get around the unwanted attention from the strange creature, which Kallan had decided he would keep a close eye at. This twist of event has changed everything and suddenly the roles was turn the Cat was addressing Kallan, and that make him feel quite uncomfortable. Not use to see the likes of you around here, I think tis is me first. Obvious nervous Kallan starts twiddling his long bony fingers, while trying to keep a somewhat fake smile on his lips. I saw you came here with miss Blossom, I take it ya be a friend of hers too? As for coinage.... Kallan quickly makes a hand gesture to the elf standing close by. Secretly begging for the two would strike a conversation leaving him off the hook for the time being.

HA ! Just noticed aren't we a bunch of heroes!
It might be a criteria for an extra character to be more law-minded. At least that would make some funny challenges when 75% of the party are running what they seem best fit and the last being a real stand-up guy of the society. Anyway just a funny discovery I noticed on our sheets :-) Speaking about alignment - Nayr are you going to focus on "alignment" a lot. Reason I am asking is everyone interpret alignment a bit different so be kind enough to give us a heads up in case we are going down the wrong track in your interpretation! Already now we can see the difference in our characters

Turning around as Blossom pays the entry fee:
"Gosh all these folks really got a lot of stash to throw away" he thinks then his eyes fall on the golden goblin and a devious plan starts to form. "fake gold or not I bet that's worth a pretty penny" By the way I am Kallan, he smiles at the armored elf, This is Riddleport at it's finest, welcome to the town of endless possibilities. Ya can get all of this with a heavy purse and more so. See even the lovely ladies can be yours for the taking, if ya got enough. That's the way Riddleport works best.

Wondering if there is a way around the damn door, Kallan reluctantly walk away. Someone must have been beating us to that entrance, I think I know quite a few fellas that could have come up with that idea. Scratching his chin Kallan wonders if there might be another way around.
Kallan scouts around trying to see if anyone has a pouch hanging too luring to pass up on.

Addressing the elven man as they get closer to the gambling hall I'll bet we have been chance at getting in on the other side. Unless of course ya be here to roll a dice and loose a coin or two.. The lad smiles at the elf. These places always have a back door, ya know he stats factually. Lets find that, I think its be our best way in. But ya be quick about it. We don't want many an eye taking notice of us. With that Kallan pushes himself through the crowd toward the rear side of the building, trying to drag the elf with him.

True Kallan are not a huge force in direct combat but if Eris start tripping the opponents then Kallan will shine: Daggers are currently +0 toHit 1d4+2 & 1d4+1 however with sneak attack coming in at 1d8+1 then it begin to look like something. But when it comes down the line its all about what the monster/opponents brings to the table. I do however believe we using our brains can survive.

5 copper it is then Kallan replies with a grin exposing his rotten teeth. With a quick twist of his fingers the silver coin disappear leaving the hand empty and ready to receive yet another days earning.
The satisfaction is vivid in Kallans face as he even before noon has "collected" a weeks pay. A week where hunger will not be an issue. He extend his hands Lets not waste any daylight, I hear this Vancaskerkin a'int one to sit 'round waiting. He most likely already have hirelings around town to find suitable people for his job openings

Oddly enought its Tal that falls. Anyhow we have if I remember correctly 1 Cleric1 Rogue 1 Witch 1 Bard 1 Ranger That pretty well balanced. As I have no idea how these PBP works really then I can not say if we need one more or not. But if we should add one - then I would suggest everyone get to know one another before the "new one" pops up. Maybe build a story line where we get together and eventually saves (similar) the new person.
if voted I would say add one - but only because it would be fun to have many different players.

Receiving the silver coin the young lad's eyes widen.
As for work, well most people around here are only hiring people that know someone. Ya know of 'em families and such. I aint one to be so lucky. But a fine fellow like ya self might have a chance at the goblin. Rumours had is old Vancaskerkin might be having positions open, if ya don't mind gambling and such, which I expect ya don't since ya come here to Riddleport. Looking down at the coin once more a faint smile appear on his lips.

Spoilers are COOL - Elven language spoiler was a plus in my book - I had to hurry to my character sheet and see if elvish was one of my lang's. Alas it wasn't so I did not press that OH SO ALLURING button! Oh yes as for Kallan "sneaking" behind, it aren't because he is trying to keep out of sight:

The rumble in the streets of the Wharf are not uncommon neither is sleeping beneath some planks, leaning against the walls of the warehouse. They provides a decent shelter for the night as Kallan have done so often. But this time it is a bit different, the breaking of glass and the crowd of people gathering woke Kallen clearly hours to early for his liking. Yet another day of a hungry stomach had begun. Kallan slowly peaks out from beneath the planks and see the gathering of people around where the noise came from. Looking up he notices an angry looking man in what seem to be left of a window. Getting out of the shelter unnoticed or at least without drawing any unwanted attention is not going to a problem Kallan thought and quickly on all four he crawls out. As he gets up his eyes darts around for potential danger. His gaze falls upon the odd trio standing talking softly. Elves and their kin are not uncommon around town, well they normally are not seen walking around the wharf but still isn't them that make this trio so odd. Two elves a male and a female, but the third person. Not a human nor an elf, that was for sure and surely not a hell-spawn whom Kallan have seen a few times roaming the shadows at dusk around Riddleport. This one is a feline of some sort. The trio went on their way but these are strangers, most likely foreigners. Foreign folk always carries a coin if asked politely. This trio could provide the next meal, if Kallan plays his cards correctly. Kallan follows the trio a good 20 feet behind them, keeping an eye out for other who have gotten the same idea.

Restless Cherry Blossom wrote: Sweet! Thank you very much! Of course that doesn't help for a 'familiar' form so likely going to stick with Blossom for that, but still incredibly cool true Blossom or flower that word I at least know in Mandarin (huā) so that could be it or mei hua (beautiful flower ;-)) As for tales about the Darklands and Quests Kallan would eat it all raw - after all its a world outside. And as everyone knows the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. The plan is for Kallan not to be stupid but a bit naive toward outsiders (none-Riddleport natives). RCB would be the perfect fit for his dreams and he would go a long way to stick close by - as long as it will not harm his own skin of course.

Not an overly religious dude Kallan could add to his "private" sessions a place of peace, where he hides away from the criminal friends he has. This could be within some sort of holy ground of Calistria. Where he might have been somewhat fascinated with the "Elven blossom". Mostly seeing her as a strange outsider and therefore maybe one to lead him out of the awfulness of the slums Kallan is use to within Riddleport. Kallan is not the easiest to befriend but if he sees a chance of hope for something better then he pretty much will follow blindly. Development wise - Kallan will be a dagger throwing/wielding thief. Focusing on the word thief: Agile, Stealthy and with his hand it other peoples purse if possible. As for Restless Cherry Blossom (不寧櫻花節) I looked it up on a translator but can get my wife (she is Taiwanese) to approve it. Pronounced it "bú nìng yīng huā jié" I believe.
I am also a sucker for lists and what I found from the previous list that struck me a bit odd was the races. I am currently playing PFS and you hardly ever see an elf (-constitution simply hurts too bad) Here we have
Also I always split the classes up in three parts Pure SpellCasters, Semi and none (old Rolemaster habit) We got 5 pure, 5 none and 3 semi That seem very balanced actually and those 8 spell casters (didn't incl. the ranger) is 5/3 in arcane favor - again well balanced. When all that is said and done - there are currently 12 people applying (well 11 since Talant'edhel is automatic) but it gives Nayr with a great selection. And to be honest its really lots of fun reading all your strange application and its tons of ideas to build on. Looking forward to the selection process
Well it a'int bedtime as of yet but couldn't help it anyway. DickovDKs application is Kallan Viper
A shady person who basically are just a product of his upbringing. For Game statistic they will be made later as I feel they aren't as important as the actual character concept. Background:
Kallan was born in the streets of Riddleport, into a family of 5 other children. Kallan was the youngest and therefore was somewhat the favorite in his mother’s eyes. His mother was a home going typical woman, taking care of the daily routines while his father roamed the streets. At an early age Kallan was not really aware what profession his father actually had, if any at all. Most of the time his elderly siblings just say that dad is out having a drink with some friends, and it was more often than not that his father came stumbling home drunk. The Streets of Riddleport are an unforgiving place and before Kallan even reached his teens, he had been involved in a number of scuffles with the local gangs and at time even with the city guards. He two brothers early noticed the young lad had a keen ability to get in and out of places, where they themselves have grown either too large or simple was not able to enter. They therefore taught young Kallan how to move around the alleys unseen. They also taught the young asprining thief how to handle himself if a fight broke out and his quick fingers quickly became adept with a knife. Over the years he refined his knife wielding abilities to such an extent, that the other boys in the neighborhood gave him the nickname “Viper”, a name his adopted as his own. One night long ago tragedy struck the little family. Kallans mother had taken ill from filth fever and within a fourth night she passed away, leaving the house without a caretaker and without someone to care for the children. His brothers started to roam the streets more often, Kallans dad almost never came home but spent the night with paid women or in tavern rooms till he passed out and slept in the gutter. Kallans three sisters also left the home and took up jobs in the street, selling themselves for the highest bidder, or at times just for a warm bed. Kallen himself was mostly left to himself. He often got into self provoked trouble. The mere attention made Kallan feel alive and gave him a respectable reputation among his elders. At night time he found shelter either in the family house, which was quickly falling into ruins, or in whatever alley that suited for the night. Since reaching adulthood Kallan, have been in and out of prison a number of times. He has also been involved in a number of shady operations, which includes pity theft, burglary and to some extend even violence. His name Viper are all too familiar with the local enforce and his abilities with the blade are becoming somewhat renowned.
Personality:
Kallan is a product of his society, a rude mean looking follow that basically trust no one but himself. He believes that the world is a wicked place and the only way to survive in such one has to be even meaner. This is however only his attitude on the outside. Beneath the by now cool hard shall of a man, beats a heart of hope and dreams. A heart he suppresses to avoid falling victim to the streets of Riddleport. When alone and at night he imagines a world outside the ports, all those marvelous place especially seaman brag about, having visited. He is a man of deep emotions, but tries not to let anyone close enough to learn about his true nature. To his follow street thugs Kallan is somewhat an enigma, at one point an excellent thief but as a friend and participant in the thugs daily activities at taverns and Kallan reframe himself from being a part of gambling, drinking and occasional visit to the brothel. Kallan never drinks alcohol claiming it to be the drink of the devil. Apperance: Kallan stands an impressive 5’10”, slim and very agile weighing in around 180 lbs. His dark face is dominated by a large hooked nose almost giving him a raven like appearance. Kallan has dark brown dirty hair falling down past his shoulders and equally dark deep set eyes. He is dressed in ragging leathers, heavy pants and boots that have seen its best day years ago. His waist is dominated by a large girdle like leather belt with a huge metal belt buckle in the middle. On either side of are two long knives sheeted in scabbards. On Kallans back flows a dark midnight colored cloak with a hood large enough to cover his face. |
