I guess it was bound to happen. My thanks to both players and DM, this was a great introduction to the forums! Bela and Kadrian will be together in my heart.

The swashbuckler stabs at the goblin warchanter, but slips on the uneven floor.
MW Rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

"Your crimes against Sandpoint are many, 'Goblin King'", Kadrian sneered. "The raid upon Sandpoint only your most recent violation of the law." Nodding over to the shaonti, the swashbuckler concludes, drawing his rapier, "Akuleh offered you the best deal you will receive from us. I suggest you take it!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17

The swashbuckler follows the others into the shadows.
Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

"We should at least try to make out way with some stealth", Kadrian offers. "No need to let every goblin know exactly where we are unless absolutely necessary."

Kadrian examines the bars and hooks. "If you think it can be done quickly, Rak. By all mean."

Kadrian steps forward to coup de gras the dying goblins, lest they call out with their final breaths.

Okay, Kadrian will attempt to Opportune Parry and Riposte (Ex), spending a panache point.

Attack parried. Whew!

The swashbuckler will hold his attack until a goblin makes it into melee.

Kadrian, upon seeing the goblins advance within melee range, drops his crossbow and draws his rapier and strikes at the nearest goblin (gold).

Dmg.: 1d6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 1 + 3 = 9

The swashbuckler takes aim at one of the goblin's down the hall and fires his crossbow.
Crossbow, light: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Missing the target, Kadrian reloads for the next round.

With what sounds like a horde of goblins heading his way, and no way to pull Rak back, Kadrian pivots to the other wall, sheathing his rapier, and drawing his crossbow, ready to use this 'bottleneck' to a strategic advantage.

Kadrian draws his sword quietly, ready to another tussle.

The young noble follows the party, keeping his eyes peeled for sudden ambushes.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Cayden, be with me!
Kadrian begins to make his climb up the tower.
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17

Kadrian follows the ranger's advice.

I suppose this isn't an activity Kadrian can take a 10 or 20 on?

Kadrian's Climb is a +1, with no climbing kit. I might get lucky and roll really well.

Kadrian nods in understanding, determined to see it through.

"Indeed", Kadrian agrees, doing a quick scan of the goblin bodies.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
"The job is not done yet."

The swashbuckler advances to aid his dwarven friend.

Dmg.: 1d6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 3 = 10

The panicking goblins race at the heroes.

It's 3 hp. And the fight is still young. Kadrian will take the hit.

Kadrian leaps over the burning bodies to land near Rak and help out his friend separated in the rumble.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9 Oops. Let's Derring-Do (Ex) this.
Derring Do: 1d6 ⇒ 3 = 12 Hopefully that made it.

The swashbuckler then lunges to attack the goblin to his left.

As the goblin warriors surge forward, Kadrian keeps his strategic position, drawing his rapier and attack the red goblin.

Dmg. w/Precise Strike (ex): 1d6 + 1 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 3 = 6

Looking at the bridge, Kadrian remarks, "Well, the walkway is as sturdy as it's ever going to be. Cayden, be with us."

Kadrian advances on the foul goblin magic user.

Kadrian meets back up with Rak and Aluleh.

"It looks like we need to go around", the swashbuckler states. Kadrian moves west to what looks like the nearest entry and investigates.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 NICE!

Vexed, Kadrian can only watch as the goblin makes his escape, surely to tell others of his tribe. Looking around, the swashbuckler sees his dwarven friend attacked by the cougar and advances to assist.

The Sandpoint noble continues his attack on the mad goblin.

Kadrian deftly leaps our of the ways of the encroaching plantlife, and advances on the goblin.

Kadrian brings everyone's attention to something moving in the east nonverbally.

Concerned about his shoanti fiend, Kadrian remains quiet to pick up any sounds of pursuit.
Perception (aid): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

I think my inexperience at playing a swashbuckler is showing. blush

The swashbuckler continues his attack on the goblin dog he had injured.
MW Rapier: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Dmg.: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Aww. Come on! I can roll higher than a '1'!

Knowing the barking of the ugly goblin dogs will bring others, the swashbuckler moves to quickly end the source of the barking.

Kadrian nods in agreement with Akuleh.
The swashbuckler will stay in the middle, allowing his mobility to get where he needs to be.

"Please", the swashbuckler whispers. "I cede to your expertise in the field. Scouting sounds like a excellent idea. As for the 'unforseen', we generally cross that bridge when it comes."

Looking downcast, Kadrian's feature's harden with resolution. Quietly, the swashbuckler turns to leave.

"Mr. Vauni!" Kadrian steps forward, a little more red in his cheeks. "I assure you that your daughter's honor is intact! You have my word as a gentleman and as a Deverin!"
The swashbuckler stops himself. "You heard my voice calling Bela last night?! Oh no! I think someone may have lured Bela out into the night and into danger!"

The young noble regains his composure as he steps forward to finally meet Izbvela's father.
"I had wanted to finally meet you, Domnul Vauni, under better conditions." Kadrian continues. "Last night, as every night since the goblin attack, I escorted you daughter home safely to you front door with Algon in tow. This morning, we", the swashbuckler motions to the rest of his friends, "along with Bela, were to undergo a scouting mission for Mayor Deverin. We were to meet at The Rusty Dragon before proceeding."
"We don't know where she is", Kadrian said downcast.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15 Of course.

Akuleh stands beside Kadrian and lays a hand on the forlorn noble's shoulder. "Do not worry, Kadrian. We will see Izbela again when the Waters carry us back together. We will tell Izbela's parents to watch the water for their daughter's return, but for now, we should carry on with the task given to us."

"Yes", the young noble said somberly. "Let us return and tell our findings to the Vauni."

Kadrian's anxiety begins to worsen as the summoner's tracks stop at the water's edge.
Despite the uselessness of the act, the swashbuckler still call's out his lover's name.
"Bela!! Bela! Where are you!"
