When a creature is forced to deal damage to itself through something like Confusion or Terrible Remorse, does its DR still apply if its weapon or natural attacks don't specifically overcome that DR? Our guess is that the DR would still apply, but can't find anything official.

Cool, sounds like you're not interested in joining the group, which is fine. Adults in my area are free to similarly avoid my game for the same reason, or to assess the risks and decide they're comfortable risking it to have fun and live their lives as normal.

As for the question of legality, I'd simply point you to the U.S. Constitution, First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

As for the COVID lecture, I choose not to live in fear of a virus even the CDC says has a 99.5% survival rate for those under 70. Other people are welcome to cancel whatever holidays they'd like, but I my family, friends, and I have chosen to reject that notion. There are more than a dozen of us and we've gotten together maskless and indoors all year and not a single one of us has gotten COVID. Hospitals aren't reaching anything close to a breaking point; that is fiction.

I'd like to get a group together to play Pathfinder 1e in person. I'm looking for three players and a GM to join.

I'm not picky about which module/AP/homebrew we'd play, as long as there's good chemistry. Shooting for playing every other Saturday, sometime between 11am-8pm. Late Sunday or weeknight games (like starting at 10:30pm) could also work if that works best for everyone.

I can host. I have a big table, a couple game mats, and a fair amount of minis (creatures and environment).

I'm looking for players who are okay with just getting together and playing without worrying about COVID (no masks, no 6" distancing, etc.). Also, I'd like to avoid gaming with people who are easily offended. I want everyone to feel comfortable joking around and having fun without worrying about offending other players. Short version: if you think there is any validity to the argument that orcs are racist, this isn't the table for you.

Like the subject says, there are Curse of the Crimson Throne spoilers here. Big ones, like endgame spoilers about a major NPC/enemy.

I'm a few sessions into running a Curse of the Crimson Throne campaign for my group and I've decided to basically rewrite Ileosa to be interesting. The short version of the campaign as written is that Ileosa marries the king of Korvosa and then stumbles across the fangs of Kazavon beneath the castle, allowing Kazavon to essentially possess her. From there she becomes evil and does all kinds of awful things to the people of the city. The boring part is that the way she's written is that she already hated the city, the people, and the king, and she was already evil before the possession. It makes the entire possession element seem completely unnecessary and pointless.

My plan is to make her perhaps a bit spoiled/bratty when she arrived, but otherwise not evil. And rather than having her be 100% possessed and basically a non-character throughout the campaign, I'm going to have her be aware of what is happening and be able to break the possession occasionally (essentially like she's getting recurring Will saves and when she manages to roll a nat 20 she can act on her own free will for perhaps an hour, only to fail the next roll). I'm planning on creating something of a vigilante persona for her to use to interact with the party and try to help them save the city from the things Kazavon is making her do.

This means the endgame will change pretty significantly. I'm going to drop hints here and there and hopefully by the time the final confrontation rolls around, they'll know she's still alive in there. I want to have some sort of interesting way to allow them to break the possession that they can work towards. I looked at possession rules and those aren't really interesting enough for such a major conflict.

I'm relatively new to Pathfinder (I've played in a full AP and a handful of modules) so I'm not well-versed in the full range of magical items and spells. Any advice on cool obscure spells or items that I might be able to bring into the campaign to have the players break the possession would be appreciated. I don't need it to be strictly by-the-book as far as mechanics go, but I want something that still fits in the framework of the universe and makes sense for it to work against something so powerful.

Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any input you guys have!

I've got a friend who has never played any tabletop RPGs and is interested in trying Pathfinder. She's pretty busy with school and work so she can't commit to a long campaign for now, so I'm looking for a good one-shot module (like one 4-6 hour session) to introduce her to the game system. We'll be playing with a group of three other players who have a few years of experience.

Ideally, I'd like something with a good mix of combat and role playing so she gets the full experience. Level 1 is fine, but I think I'd prefer to play level 3-5 characters so the combat options are a bit more varied. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
