"I still have a few thousand from our previous escapades, and Hoid might have some money for us. I would need to go and speak to him. I should easily be able to get you around half of that now." Jimmy says to Tink.
"Are you sure this guy can help?" Jimmy asks dubiously
"I fear most would not be willing to try something like that."
"Today we are buying... We need a way to transport people to and from our new home."
"Our favorite shopkeeper. I have no idea what she might have but if anyone has something to handle this situation it is Lini." Jimmy replies with a smile
Jimmy walks across and whacks the cultist across the back of the head with the haft of his glaive. As the cultist collapses Jimmy checks that he is still breathing. After he confirms that he grabs one of the cultists sleeves and drags the limp cultists out to the others. "I figure we might as well try get some information if we head back to town."
"There is a corridor back here that leads out to the cliff with some rooms off of it." Jimmy says hunting down the nearest wretching.
"I'll try." Jimmy says as he drives his glaive into the wretching cultist again. He then makes his way to where he remembers the far side of the room being.
"Do you really think it's a good idea to leave these things alive?" Jimmy's voice calls from the cloud
Jimmy attempts to cleave the creature in two.
Jimmy holds his breath and moves towards the nearest sound of belching, cautiously.
Jimmy deftly avoids the Golem before stepping to put the skulks between him and the golem. He heals himself and concentrates on activating his shard.
Jimmy heals himself again, and attacks the next skulk.
Jimmy looks at Gwen, deciding if he should stay next to her or move to assault the attackers.
"We have time, and magically sharp weapons... What about that spell you used when we rescued the troll?" Jimmy asks Gwen
"I imagine destroying the walls would be frowned upon too?" Jimmy asks Gwen
"No. There is not." Jimmy says with a kind laugh
"We could also buy a second hand one, or use the lyre to build one, considering we don't really need anything fancy."
"Most large coastal towns will have a shipyard that you can commission a ship from." Jimmy explains before taking his first mouthful
"You can go for a sailing ship, we mostly just need a barge."
"We have need of a pier, and exporting your beer could do with a pier too."
Jimmy follows. After reaching the tower and setting out food, Jimmy says to Abomentollor, "When were you thinking of starting to export your beer?"
"Now that is a splendid idea, and one that I can see working."
"Let's..." Jimmy says as they step outside, "Do you think he owns the pier? Or just makes use of it?"
"Money in pocket is always good for business." Jimmy replies
"The extra foot traffic would be great for business." Jimmy appeals to the idea of money
"I think this is something that we don't need to worry about quite yet. Boats aren't exactly cheap, but we don't need a full sea-going vessel. A barge would probably work, if it was well built."
"It would need to be revamped a bit, but I don't see why not."
"Their are docks already, but a pier in underbridge might not be a bad idea. We would need to organise guards to ensure that a path to it was kept safe, and to reassure the wealthy that they won't be mugged on their way to a performance.."
"We can do, but we could also wait to tomorrow for that. I think a pier and ferry might be the easiest. It also creates the most jobs."
"Shall we get back?" Jimmy says taking the basket and Gwen's hand
"His name was Hoid..." Jimmy pauses for a moment, thinking, "It would help him at the orphanage too. If he can find a few that he trusts, once he has them trained, he can give some of his work to them."
"A house master, butlers, guards, accountants, managers..." Jimmy says thinking
"I was thinking we could train them to do things they might get jobs in later as well..." Jimmy replies, trying not to put a further damper on Gwen's spirits
"People from underbridge is probably not a bad idea. Once we have transport organised we could probably hire some of the older children from the orphanage as well." Jimmy repplies
"I think just a bit of this and a bit of that..." Jimmy smiles at her, "And nothing says we can't take our pillows back to the bridge and spend a night under the stars again."
"That might be an issue indeed. Why don't we go past that restaurant that Lini took us to and get them to prepare something for us to take home? We have had a busy day already, you don't need to do anything more." Jimmy replies "Are you alright though?" he asks, noticing that her face is a bit puffy
Jimmy struggles to squeeze his wings out of the window before flapping up to fly alongside Gwen.
"That's a good idea." Jimmy says taking her hand
"We will almost certainly find things to sell."
"We will see if we meet one at some point." Jimmy replies
"Well... all of them." Jimmy replies, "Tales tell of a blue dragon who betrayed a count. He pretended to be a mercenary general, all the while spreading the influence of Zon-Kuthon through the county."
"We should probably avoid blue dragons." Jimmy says
"Nothing quite so obvious. They will be plenty annoyed we are building here, but we made sure they can do nothing about it." Jimmy chuckles back
"They said that we weren't allowed to build our house where we were, so we are moving." Jimmy explains the situation, and to Gwen he replies, "I don't think 'pet' is the right word for a dragon. They are smart and independent. It would be like keeping a person as a pet. Could you have a dragon as a friend? I don't see why not."
Jimmy leans out of the window up the tower and calls back "We aren't ready for guests yet." with a grin |
