Gonna try to reroll with my attributes, with my current one as "set 1". Set 1:
STR: 8 CON: 11 DEX: 7 SIZ: 12 INT: 16 POW: 11 APP: 9 EDU: 16 Set 2:
STR: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 2) = 9 CON: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 4) = 13 DEX: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) = 15 SIZ: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 6) + 6 = 13 INT: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 2) + 6 = 11 POW: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 3) = 8 APP: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6) = 9 EDU: 3d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 4, 4) + 3 = 17 Moving some attributes around...
STR: 9
Hmm... Not that big a change and the hit on my intelligence hurts. I think I'll stick with my current stats but I'll just move some of my skills around. I'll also make Rusty a bit older, at late 30's.

Ahh, I see. I knew that was true but I wondered if it meant something else because I know Alienist was a D&D class that dealt with the mythos. I might reroll for my stats and my subsequent skills. My attributes are kind of low (3 of them below average). I also don't have any combat skills but I might pick them up along with more psychotherapy, but I'll wait until we have others onboard to see if any skills need to be covered more. And a mortician in this time period would more properly be known as an Undertaker. Sounds more creepy that way, but Homeless Undertaker doesn't seem as catchy. Hmm.

That makes sense! "Ahh, I see." Rusty finished the rest his drink in one swallow and leaves it on the counter for the bartender to take as he pours another round. He doesn't react when Isabelle puts her feet up, merely glancing before turning his attention back to the bartender, observing him mix. "I haven't been to England before so I wouldn't know. Apologies for the confusion. I suppose I should introduce my profession since you've gladly offered yours." He pauses, deciding what to say. "I am a mortician though one out of work and have since made most my living doing all sorts of unskilled jobs. I've traveled the States and seen quite a lot of it but I originally hail from Los Angeles in California. The city was quite violent when I was there, embroiled in conflict. Morticians were never out of work then. However, one of those conflicts made its way to my home." He shrugs. "I left as soon as I recovered."

"Attention attracts trouble, and I'd rather not get either when one follows the other." Rusty reaches into his jacket to take out a faded red matchbook. He opens it and takes out a single match, striking it on the matchbook's exterior to light it and then holds it up to the cigarette. "May I have your name?" he asks, flicking the match away when the cigarette is lit.

"Perhaps." Rusty's eyes flicker between Michael and the woman. "Jeff Henderson," he says, tilting his head at Michael, turning to face the man and exposing the woolen sweater underneath his jacket and takes the offered hand in a firm handshake. He tips his brown newsboy cap in return. "But call me Rusty. I'm not much for formalities."

Rusty watches the woman with interest and doesn't even blink when smoke is blown into his face—his eyes have gotten used to harsher chemicals. He leans close to the woman, replying in a hushed voice. "Not at all, madame. I'd just rather avoid trouble here." He steps on the dying cigarette butt with a boot, tilting his head to the side as a crew member passes by. "Thought you'd appreciate the warning in case you wanted to avoid notice as well."

Heya, GM! Glad to see you're doing well. Cute link, Remy. :P Since we're going to be partnering up, and David, Isabelle, and Michael already have a solid background, Ms. Fitzsimmon befriending Rusty at the bar is a good idea. Rusty, while not being able to afford a ride on the ship, had enough to grease a ship officer's palm, promptly disappearing into the third class section. Keeping a low profile is no problem with all the passengers aboard so he might as well take a look around. Ending up at the cozy location of the bar, he's just enjoying the ambience (not being able to afford any of the drinks) when a lady sits down next to him, smoking a cigarette when he remembered there was a clear no-smoking sign at the bar. It's enough to make him strike up a conversation. "You know this is a no-smoking area, yes?" His voice is breathy and has an unclear American accent to it, possibly a mix of several locations, but the overall result is rough and unsophisticated.

Haha, nice. I'm alright with Remy's Team getting him. For my team, I'm not sure how the game starts off--do we already all know each other (at least in passing)? Is that something for us to decide? I'm intrigued already. Isabelle and Michael already have a solid relationship. David could possibly have taken pictures at one time or another for Isabelle's family (or of Isabelle herself). Rusty, on the other hand, is a bit difficult to come across on. Unless you happen to have had your family embalmed years ago at his mortuary and he happens to recognize the same features on you, or he's just a random vagrant you stumbled upon. I do like the idea that you just came across him when the game starts. I made it so that he's just somewhat newly arrived in London so he doesn't have his bearings yet.

Rusty and Remi are going to be on opposing teams, being the only ones who invested some points in Psychology. Rusty is good with the sciences and medicine so the professor and him should probably be on opposite teams. Harvey Andrews is good with machines and such, so Isabelle and him may be on opposing teams. And hey, we have two Andrews. Could they be related? Perhaps each team should have an Andrews for kicks. Oh, and Leonard versus Michael for war experience? More competition! Also spreads out combat some. Michael getting hired as a bodyguard for Isabelle sounds plausible too. So these splits: Rusty - Remi
And here's the final proposal: Team Paparazzi
Team Nosy
It seems to be though, that these are the two that can be switched around freely: Isabelle & Michael versus Harvey & Leonard So Rusty could get Harvey & Leonard instead and Remi can have Isabelle & Michael. These are just suggestions based on their skills though! Feel free to join whichever side.

Ah, thank you. That'd be Art (Cosmetology). Interesting requirement with Psychology and Art. Not sure how we should divide ourselves. Any thoughts? Could do randomly, but maybe evenly distributing our skillsets would be more fair. Or pairing up the characters that would look like would hit it off. |
