Mmm, Simon does seem like the most reasonable link, but still not quite sure how to tie us all together. Leonard could perhaps have heard his name when the police were investigating the symbols carved into the street walker if the police tried to consult with him.
The only thing I can think to connect Harvey to him is that perhaps while he was studying at Miskatonic that he spent some time looking into cults and met Harvey's parents? Harvey would likely not have been there at the time unless it was quite early on in Simon's career (he left home in his early teens).
Harvey Andrews |
No... Harvey's generally been avoiding the occult where possible :p He's certain that there's something following him however... he may have on occasion hired a private eye to try and find out what that is, with inconclusive or no results.
Hmm, actually maybe he could know Leonard? He overstayed in his previous job, perhaps whatever is stalking him caught up and broke into his place, or caused some other mysterious occurences in the last few months that forced the police to get involved and question Harvey, hell maybe he was linked to the prostitute's death :p Either way he wouldn't have left until he had finished the job and collected the fat completion bonus that allowed him to take this trip to London.
Isabelle Fitzsimmon |
Heya, GM! Glad to see you're doing well.
Cute link, Remy. :P
Since we're going to be partnering up, and David, Isabelle, and Michael already have a solid background, Ms. Fitzsimmon befriending Rusty at the bar is a good idea.
Rusty, while not being able to afford a ride on the ship, had enough to grease a ship officer's palm, promptly disappearing into the third class section. Keeping a low profile is no problem with all the passengers aboard so he might as well take a look around.
Ending up at the cozy location of the bar, he's just enjoying the ambience (not being able to afford any of the drinks) when a lady sits down next to him, smoking a cigarette when he remembered there was a clear no-smoking sign at the bar.
It's enough to make him strike up a conversation. "You know this is a no-smoking area, yes?" His voice is breathy and has an unclear American accent to it, possibly a mix of several locations, but the overall result is rough and unsophisticated.
Isabelle slowly turns to the man addressing her, and takes a drink of her Martini. She appraises the man for a minute, then casually blows smoke in his face, before throwing her dying butt on the ground beneath the mans feet. She then leans close to the man and quietly replys. "Oh". "And are you going to tell on me"?

DM...Would you mind at least starting up the Game thread. I keep my active games on my campaign page, so if it was there I wouldn't have to search through the discussion threads to find the game.
Don't really need to do an opening post yet...just create the gameplay thead.
Thanks.

She appraises the man for a minute, then casually blows smoke in his face, before throwing her dying butt on the ground beneath the mans feet. She then leans close to the man and quietly replys. "Oh". "And are you going to tell on me"?
Rusty watches the woman with interest and doesn't even blink when smoke is blown into his face—his eyes have gotten used to harsher chemicals.
He leans close to the woman, replying in a hushed voice. "Not at all, madame. I'd just rather avoid trouble here."
He steps on the dying cigarette butt with a boot, tilting his head to the side as a crew member passes by.
"Thought you'd appreciate the warning in case you wanted to avoid notice as well."
Michael James Andrews |
Avoiding notice is not something the young lady is overly concerned about. Michael says as he approaches the pair.
I am Mr Andrews, and you, good sir? Michael holds out his right hand to the stranger talking to his charge, his left removing a black banded grey fedora, one matching his suit. He gives the man a quick once over as he closes the last bit of distance.
Michael gives Ms Fitzsimmon a sideways wink and sly smile, knowing she will most likely rankle under his intrusion, but hoping to keep it as mild and brief as possible.
At least manage the introductions before getting pushed off to the side. This will be a long enough voyage without numerous money seeking suitors clouding the picture.
Jeff "Rusty" Henderson |
"Perhaps." Rusty's eyes flicker between Michael and the woman.
"Jeff Henderson," he says, tilting his head at Michael, turning to face the man and exposing the woolen sweater underneath his jacket and takes the offered hand in a firm handshake. He tips his brown newsboy cap in return. "But call me Rusty. I'm not much for formalities."
Michael James Andrews |
Returning the handshake, and taking in the more average attire of the man with an accepting nod, Michael, a pleasure Rusty. I hope we are in for a good and speedy voyage.
Smiling to both, he steps back, I will leave the young miss to her discussions. I but stop to inform her Lady that all is well with the cabins, the Olympic shall be casting off within the hour, and a late luncheon shall be sserved oon thereafter.
Waving to a nearby waiter, Michael nods towards an open table a few paces away from the two. I and your table shall be ready and nearby should you find the need.

Sorry for making you wait folks, the gameplay threads are up!
Here is the thread for group one, consisting of Rusty, Isabelle, Michael, and David;
and
Here is the thread for group two, which should contain Remi, Simon, Harvey, and Leonard if I am correct.
They both share this discussion page, but I can change that later if you want.

Oh, yeah sure! I thought it was a done deal :) So, given that I'm a terribly frail artiste, perhaps I've procured your services as a herbalist..? I'm sure there's something we can work with there, or alternately you and your bokken may have come to my rescue at some point.
Or both..? Any suggestions M. Caine? I can certainly imagine our characters being fairly sympathetic.
Harvey Andrews |
Group Two is unfortunately a bit unorganized :p Leonard, what did you think about my suggestion below? (modified it slightly since I posted it)
Leonard could perhaps have heard his name when the police were investigating the symbols carved into the street walker if whatever unseen force has been following him somehow linked Harvey to the killing?
Harvey Andrews |
Heh, that could be interesting, but I'm struggling a bit to come up with a motivation for Harvey to be involved in the first place :p he normally avoids this sort of thing when possible. I guess as long as Leonard is decent at hiding his suspicions and has buddied up to Harvey in order to keep an eye on him then that could work.
