Worth noting: TOZ was my GM. There are no punches pulled with him!

Lastly this is, officially for me, the last PF1 scenario I will play. Story-wise, it's quite the milestone for my playing career.

Yes, Munny had gone into this planning on finishing Torch off... he was betrayed at Rivalry's End, and Torch would have gone down (in his continuity) had Vera (his musket) not misfired after his first shot was a crit!

So, after this very painful encounter, full of shenanigans, Jayne Munny, Lawman of Abadar, was willing to hear Torch out. Down 7 levels due to an energy drain, Munny was a little traumatized by the 2 fights with the graveknight Vahlo.

However, thanks to an opportune nat-20 sense motive (for a 47, I believe) he decided that Torch was telling the truth, and trusted him. He gave Torch his word, and offered his hand, still cautious, but willing to hear the rest of the story.

All in all, it made sense to Munny, though he did not agree with what Torch had done, he understood it. Perhaps this was because of what happened to him during AFI?

In any case, he feels he is back doing what he was doing back in the days of the Shadow Lodge, and has looked at himself to see what he has done lately, and his drive to force civilization on Galt. This who adventure has mellowed him, and now he is likely to retire with the Decemverite. It remains to be seen if he will take on a mask.

TOZ did an amazing job telling this story, and challenging us. No punches were pulled, and we were challenged in all parts. It was a blast, though exhausting (via PBP).

Obviously torn by old hatreds and newer corruptions, Munny hesitates.

But then he shoulders Vera, and steps forward, reaching out a hand to Ven. ”Stand among Pathfinders. Perhaps it is time for ‘Grandmaster Torch’, the schemer and betrayer to truly die. But, perhaps Pathfinder Ven Lorovox could return to the Society.

“Over the years, I have seen too much bloodshed, perhaps, and too much betrayal. You were the first, for me... my first mentor, and then my first betrayer. But there were others... and so many lives lost.

“Perhaps I have become too good at what I do, and what I do has been nuthin’ but killin’. That’s what you made me into, I reckon. Maybe it was necessary... I’d like to think I saved a good many lives when I killed that balor, and when I killed Thurl. ”

He ponders a moment. ”Vera let you live that day you betrayed us all, and I reckon she knew something. To you all, she may look like any other gun, but she’s been a companion to me, and we keep each other safe. Broke my heart that day she was broken, but we got her back together, stronger than ever.

“Yes, I think Grandmaster Torch has many crimes to pay for. But maybe Ven Lorovox can make some amends, and truly help bring the Pathfinder Society into a new age. ”

For one of the few times in his career, Munny fears for his life, and the life of his team. He faces a foe that he can counteract his powerful shots, at least one at at time.

He shakes his head, the gamble is required, even the Lord of the Scales would agree with that, and he declares a judgement of sacred protection and purity, though he flinches at the irony of it.

He casts named bullet on one of his cartridges, but not the one loaded.
He then moves forward ready flanking with the half-orc assassin, drawing (putting on) his spiked gauntlet as he does.
