Quick question on this bioware: Mnemonic enhancer: This highly concentrated
Is that a flat bonus to my overall mental limit or just in regards to knowledge, language, and memory?

"Slaving gives a weaker device some added protection. Whenever a slaved device is called on to make a defense test, it uses either its own or its master’s rating for each rating in the test. For example, if your slaved smartgun is the target of a hacker’s Brute Force action, it would use your Willpower or its Device Rating, and its Firewall or your commlink’s, whichever is higher in each instance. If a slaved device is under attack via a direct connection (as through a universal data connector), however, it cannot use its master’s ratings to defend itself." That does make more sense to use values from both rather than just the deck. 1st sentence was confusing since it called for the master's rating and afterward to add their firewall. But yes, in combat that's how it will go. Maybe Ahlwins a bit more careful with who he hands his commlink number to :P
Yea, had to read that section a few times to make sure I wasn't missing some really obvious security measure. Limits on the number of devices one could slave to a master looked like a way to balance all the nice bonuses you get with operating a dozen wireless devices. Right now I can add 9 others to my deck, so let me know if there's anything vital we don't want getting bricked in combat.

When I was transferring to Chummer5 the first thing that leapt out at me was the max nuyen of 400k, rather than the core which assigned 450k as an A priority. The errata didn't mention that specific change, or anything too extensive as far as my char. goes. As long as it doesn't create problems down the line, I'll just finish up the sheet today.
Backstory for Ahlwin : Ahlwin Rainhard did something bad. Relatively. Which could describe all the years he spent in Berlin. Ahlwin and his co-workers shared a certain ideology for the free flow of information.
Cause f*%$ the patent office. Anyway, to keep things short – Ahlwin took a job. When the time came to toast to the sight of a crashing stock price, Ahlwin took an alternative approach. His associates disagreed. The Corps shouldn’t have had it. We shouldn’t have had it. They tried to talk him down with bumper sticker philosophy and nuclear deterrent analogies. He’s not quite sure his Ex still thinks it was right, it cost her a very comfortable life. But Ahlwin did what he had to – burned his bridges, scorched the plains, salted the earth, and tossed a datachip somewhere over the Atlantic. Ahlwin’s reputation was fragged in a whole quarter hemisphere. He never had many good graces and character references but he wasn’t an entirely lost cause. His Ex stuck around and plied her trade in new territory while Ahlwin caters to dietary needs of the dazed, lost, and confused that happen upon his dining oasis. (Certain people seem to think being open 2 hours, on a good day, makes the food taste exclusively better. Work less, charge yuppies more, rinse, repeat). Seattle is much simpler. Earn, survive; sleep, survive; argue with your kid about using too much paprika, she’ll survive. Ahlwin was thrown a life-line when an old Econ. teacher came by. He’d been elected a local Councilman a few years back and maintained a decent connection with low class, ill-informed, drekstains that contribute nothing to society. “Voters.” Nothing was casual about him, though. It could certainly sound like it – but just finding Ahlwin on a fake SIN was deliberate and spoke to his knowledge and intent. Nothing that’s said is ever a request or as simple as a job. The Councilman is concerned about keeping his district on an even keel. Not promising to wipe out crime (except in speeches) but to make sure an occasional lung cancer doesn’t turn into brain cancer. If a local gang is suspected in hitting a major financial hub, they sometimes chat about it over sandwiches. If that same gang is found dead around their own defense turrets with half their take missing, they chat about that, too, over sandwiches that use the fancy white bread. It comports with what Ahlwin is trying to get out of life. A paycheck for his family and some small scale heists, with no implications of wide-spread doom & gloom.
