Well, it’s as official as I can make it, anyway.

This is the music I listened to while I brainstormed this Adventure Path, outlined it, and recruited authors. I asked my authors what they were listening to, and added that. Then when they turned in their manuscripts and I did the work of development, I listened some more. There’s a lot of themes here, I’ll let you decide for yourselves. But over the last year, every song on this list went into this AP.

Hey there, Starfriends:

Amanda Hamon, John Compton, and I are going to go on the Starfinder Wednesday livestream today and talk about some of the amazing science fiction/science fantasy that drew us to this hobby and which continues to inspire us while working on this game. There's already a couple of pages of inspirational material in the back of the Core Rulebook, and more in the Beginner Box, but that really only scratches the surface. (And some of us are new to the Star Chamber and didn't get to put our faves on those lists!)

I bet all of YOU have your favorite movies, video games, television shows, novels, and more which have inspired you over the years. We want to know about it! So please share your own personal inspirations here. If you think we might not have heard of the material you're talking about, link to it! And please: tell us WHY this material inspires you and HOW you like to use it in your SF gaming! A long list of books and movies is a good start, but we want details!

Amanda, John, and I will be back after the stream to pick up the thread and add more inspirations of our own that we didn't have time to discuss.

Hello fellow space travelers!

I wanted to give you all some information about this three-session adventure, to help ensure you get what you're looking for.

The Empire Arcane is an original setting I am publishing for the Starfinder RPG. Some products in this series have already been released through RPGNow, but this will be the first adventure to be published for the setting. I've already playtested it once with my local group, but I want to give you a preview too, before it's released to the world. What can you expect? Space gnolls! Cactus people! A hidden base on a remote moon! And an epic space battle!

I am running 3 sessions of the Empire Arcane for PaizoCon. These 3 sessions form a single 12 hour adventure with a beginning, middle, and end. Each chapter is self-contained, not unlike chapters in a traditional Adventure Path release. I'll be providing a selection of iconic PCs for you all to choose from. These aren't the traditional Starfinder iconics; they're unique to the Empire Arcane setting.

You can register for any single session, or even all three. If you are registered for more than one session, I'll try to make sure you play the same character throughout (the only reason this would not work out is if more than one of you played the same character in previous sessions). Although each session is part of a single long adventure, each session has a distinct emphasis.

Chapter One: Show Thy Valor and Put up Thy Sword
Friday 7-11pm, Cascade 2
This is the first part of the adventure. While there is action and adventure, you can also expect more roleplay, social interaction, and investigation in this chapter.

Chapter Two: A Still Spectre on a Marble Seat
Saturday 9am-1pm, Evergreen 1
Remember that hidden base I mentioned? Expect infiltration and plenty of tactical combat.

Chapter Three: My House, My Honor, My Life Be Thine
Sunday 10am-2pm, Evergreen 1
The climactic conclusion, which involves an epic space battle and a lot of surprises.

I'll add more information on the Empire, if folks are interested.

We’ve got two new releases for Starfinder! Both were written by Jason Tondro (editor at Paizo and author of SFS 1-28 “It Lies Beneath”), with art by Kent Burles (Palladium RPG, Mutants & Masterminds).

  • The Computer Mind: A PC archetype for all the Vulcans, Mentats, Datas, and Chucks out there. Your brain is a computer; when you’re not analyzing data to predict probability and outcomes, you’re taking over starship operations and storing vast amounts of info in your head. This is a full archetype with class features at levels 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, and 15. But that’s not all! You also get two new feats (Martial Arts and Mental Countermeasures), and an iconic Computer Mind, Nceba Cebisa of House Xhosa, at levels 1, 4, and 8. (She also makes a great assassin to throw at your PCs!)

  • The House of the Mercenary: Meet the orcs and half-orcs of House Durbulûk, lords of the imperial Mercenary Guild. Stat blocks for orc rookies, veterans in powered armor, and the half-orc envoys who call the shots. New starships: the Dart-class fighter and the Petard-class assault shuttle, complete with a boarding pod that attached to enemy ships and melts through the hull, so the orcs can attack! More on the history, culture, magic, and technology of these orcs and half-orcs, so you can play them as characters or introduce a new organization to your campaign.

Both the Computer Mind and the House of the Mercenary are part of the Empire Arcane, a new and developing setting for Starfinder. Everything in the empire is Starfinder-compatible and usable in any Starfinder game, regardless of setting.

    Check it out!
