Anyone remember this optional rule? Basically it represented the party getting swamped by an overwhelming force of low level enemies. singl hit dice at 5th level - some level (i forget) after a certain level (10 i think) a fray could be declared against slightly tougher stuff though always a certain amount of hit dice below the party. I forget whet the effects were exactly, could probably look it up on the internet, but it pretty accurately simulated stuff like the Fellowship's stand against the Orcs in Moria or any number of wild scenes from films (right down to Conan and Bambaata getting attacked by all those starving looking cultists in that terrible movie Conan the Destroyer).
I've been wanting to get hold of those rules so i could try to adapt it for Pathfinder. Had a blast with it in old 2e.
Completed the AP a few months ago with all good characters (one, the captain, was LG). Had not a single problem. Very fun.
The idea was that they were all good characters, but none of them *knew* it.
Also might have something to do with how i see alignment (As two separate words rather than a phrase, Lawful just means rules, never says what rules or who's, Good is self evident).
If you can play a Lawful Good Hellknight (as the world guide clearly states) you can have a Lawful Good pirate!
I agree, European fencing was really diverse. Rapier + Maine Gauche, Rapier + Weighted or rolled cloak. Savate!
Actual Medieval swordsmanship was a lot more like a martial art than Hollywood gives it credit for (ever see a swords-master wield a long-sword the way they REALLY used to? That thing never stops moving, looks nothing like anything we've ever seen from movies).

Would you rather see the Warpriest in its current or in an adjusted form or would you rather a 1/2 BAB, D6 HD Priest, who is less focused on combat and takes aspects of the cleric and paladin or oracle (perhapds lay on hands, mercy etc or oracle mysteries or even the blessings under the warpriest, heck maybe looking at bardic features?) in addition to its level 9 spellcasting aspect and domains?
Something with 4 skill points - more intellectual to be sure than its traditional crusaders.
A more mystical/less physical representative of their gods.
It fills a niche not covered by the Paladin, Cleric, Oracle or Inquisitor (and Shaman for that matter). To date we do not have any 1/2 BAB divine casters.
I am not sure that we can do much at this late point but the Magus went through Two play tests and they are re-looking at the Arcanist. If you really REALLY want a 1/2 BAB divine caster, now is the time to let the Dev's know.
I was suprised something like this didn't come with Ultimate Magic.
More Demons, Daemons and Devils. These huge netherplanes are awfully slim on occupants. More Qlippoth, more Kytons. You could easily devote the entire book to planar creatures.

So when is this actually coming out?
This is like going on an EA website and asking if it's OK to pirate NHL 2014.
I just hate that almost all the new core classes are Magic Using ones, except the Gunslinger and Cavalier (I'm, as i usually do, ignoring the Asian themed alt classes). They couldn't have fit a Swashbuckler in there? Or a "Noble" (for instance, NOT Aristocrat). Just some other option that doesn't rely on Hocus-Pocus.
OP,
So Paizo has to use your imagination for you?
Erik Mona wrote: An Oversized Monster Box is indeed a great idea, but it'd also be very likely to be quite expensive. As far as costs are concerned, most are tied to the number of "sheets" in a set. The fewer creatures that fit on a single sheet, the more sheets you need to make the set worthwhile. The more sheets you have, the more expensive the product's got to be.
Think about how many creatures of Gargantuan or Colossal you'd need to pull off a truly satisfying collection. Then think about how many sheets it would take at the current size to cover them. Think about the retail price of that collection relative to the ones we're currently offering.
So yeah, it's a good idea, but ouch.
Then try a 'Dragon set,' 'abberation set,' 'Fiendish set,' etc... You make good points, but you can always break something like that up.
1) Humanoids (Orcs, Bugbears, Gnolls), 3 Orc Warriors in Beastiary box doesn't cut it. Could use some more Giants as well. We don' need a whole box for this, just something along the lines of Skull & Shackles or ROTRL pawn collection. For some of us this is a must. I'm using just about anything i can find to represent Orcs!
2) NPC's, not adventurers. Like Soldiers, Tavern Maids, pickpockets, etc... We don' need a whole box for this, just something along the lines of Skull & Shackles or ROTRL pawn collection.
3) Kingmaker set.
4) Carrion Crown set.
I just had my PC's create scoundrel characters with good alignments. I made them all watch every episode of Firefly along with the movie, and we then started. Had no problem with indiscriminate piracy. Watch "insert pirate movie here," (from POTC to Cutthroat Island to Yellowbeard) most of the main characters will be good aligned. I'm not having any problems with good aligned PC's.
The only change I made was to make sure Inkskin survived the attack on the rock so she could pop up later and be a bigger villain in the campaign (The PC's took her alive, i just eliminated the pufferfish and had her escape as the PC's were leaving Mancatcher cove. Ended up meeting her end in the Race. That was really the only change i made.
1) CITY STUFF. All the GM city stuff seems to be out of print, i'm using the *VILLAGE SQUARE* flipmat to represent WATERDEEP! So please more city/urban areas.
a) Slums
b) City streets/alleys
c) City square
2) Broken lands. Death Valley style badlands.
3) Jungle.
4) Some form of swamp, the other one's out of print.
5) River rapids.
6) Canyon.
7) Thieves' Guild base.
If you're looking to create a realistic feeling God, be as simple as possible.
