Alright, Jal's definitely out of tier. And my next closest characters are all level 3 melee guys. I don't want to bring in dead weight, and I don't want to throw XP on a character that won't be applied for a long time.

My suggestion: I can shop around for a replacement player. I just don't want to waste anyone's time (mine, fellow players, our genius DM, or any of the other players who would appreciate this opportunity more than me).

If I can't find someone else eager to jump in, I'll plan on playing and just figure out how to bring some value to the group.

That sound like a plan? Again, my apologies for my own oversight that lead to this.

Do the XP/Prestige get applied immediately? Given that all my characters are so low, I'm mostly interested in advancing them.

I'll double-check on Jal. I thought I had 1 more XP to 8. Hopefully that's the case.

If not, though, my next highest character is 3. While in-Tier, I hate to bring dead-weight to the group. Is it possible to use a level 7 pregen, then apply the Chronicle to my lvl 3 guy as if it was played by that level 3 guy?

Assuming we have someone available to activate Jal's wand for him...

Wand of CLW, x4 charges: 4d8 + 4 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 7) + 4 = 21; puts Jal up to 57/60.

Jal darts around the lumbering, metal beast, striking from flank before sliding to a stop.

Full round to Spring Attack — circling him to strike from flank with August, then ending in Jal’s current map square.
Mods: Studied Target, Power Attack (Furious Focus), flank, sneak attack, Shaken
+1 keen katana: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 2 + 2 - 2 = 22
damage: 1d8 + 7 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 6 + 2 = 19
sneak attack damage: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5

NOTE TO AUGUST: a 5’ step will bring you into flank, as well. I just had to move another little bit to both attack from flank and make Spring Attack work this round.

Jal—shaken but defiant—wastes no time, throwing himself towards the nearer threat. ”What are these and how do we kill them?” he yells out as he draws his blade and slices at his foe in one smooth motion.

Swift action to make the gold/left-side baddie his Studied Target. Then move into melee (drawing katana on the way), and attack.
Mods: Shaken, Studied Target, Power Attack, Furious Focus, Sneak Attack (for beating its initiative)
katana: 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 12 + 2 - 2 = 26
damage: 1d8 + 7 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 6 + 2 = 21
sneak attack damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6

if this thing’s got reach, Jal’s AC vs AoO’s provoked through movement is 26 (though i'm hoping it's flat-footed).

On the slow ride down, Jal also takes a moment to have Ethendril help him heal up, using his own wand.
Wand of CLW, x? charges: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (8, 6) + 2 = 16; back to full

Jal wastes no time, immediately dropping once again.
Acro, DC 15: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
Fall damage: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8

He lands lightly again, absorbing what damage he can before rolling to his feet. ”Ya know, this might get annoying.”

So that’s a move action to jump down again, and a move action to stand. Then I”ll spend da Swift action to make the other guy a Studied Target.

Jal can head down. Climb +8; Survival +5 (+8 for Tracking), unless there’s someone who’s stronger at both. But if we can get one person down, do we have enough rope between the whole group to make a 300ft knotted rope for easier climb for everyone else? Jal has 50ft.
