Jakob stares out to sea, trying to recall what he can about sea serpents.
First Action - Recall Knowledge/Sea Serpents; I think I can use Bardic Knowledge for this, Bardic is preferred roll for better mod... Leaving both rolls in case.

He quickly shares whatever he remembers. Once done he gives a rousing speech to the Pathfinders and crew to bolster their morale.

Jakob looks at he moldy planks, "Anyone willing to try to remove that growth, I can give some aid." As anyone steps up Jakob focuses and mutters several gibberish-sounding occult phrases. "I won't be able to use this to help you again for an hour."

Cast Guidance on anyone trying the roll Guidance = +1 status bonus to one attack roll, Perception check, saving throw, or skill check the target attempts before the duration ends.

After any others have tried, Jakob casts the spell on himself and attempts to remove the growth.

Jakob eyes the ship warily, "Captain, are you familiar with this vessel or those of similar make? Can you tell us anything about how the hold and quarters are arranged?" Any chance to get a peek at the ship map?

Jakob begins calling out encouragements and dramatizing the heroic nature of the teams actions.
First Action: Inspire Courage - +1 hit, damage, and fear saves

"Stay strong Milord!" Jakob focuses his will and mutters causing a shimmering ward to appear between Milord and Meleeka.

Second and Third actions: Forbidding Ward, target ally (Milord) gains a +1 status bonus to Armor Class and saving throws against the target enemy's (Meleeka) attacks, spells, and other effects

Jakob watches her cross the room, replace the statue, then return. "So, what's the final test?" He motions to the door, "If it were so easily done you would've handed us the statue."

As he waits for Meleeka's response, he takes the key and moves cautiously nearer to the door. He mutters a few words under his breath with his back to Meleeka, enacting a spell to sense magic auras.

He eyes the criminal students warily, "Master Sanvara, while I believe your honor is impeciable I do worry that you students may not be as enlightened... Can you tell us more, so we can be sure there's no misunderstandings on the rules for each competition. What of the use of magics?"

Jakob looks over the training room and mantras on the pillars before continuing, "Actually Master Sanvara, you do. We both want to learn more about your dojo, and wish to inquire about a statue that has gone missing. We don't want to interrupt your lessons though. Shall we talk now or wait until your students have gone?" Jakob will describe the stolen statue, but not share that they are Pathfinders.

Trying to avoid any embarrassment for Sanvara and get the other potential combatants (the students) out of the area if I can...

"Greetings students, we'd like to learn more about your school and master. May we enter?" Jakob tries to gauge the response of the students, he presents firmly while trying to not appear threatening.

Once the First Mate finishes his stories, Jakob wanders around the decks striking up conversations with any sailors resting. He offers to trade stories and tales for any the sailors have about their destination.

Seeing Nefaram fall and the statue lurch forward, Jakob begins an encouraging speech trying to inspire the team.

He quickly chants again, summoning a small glowing shield in front of him. "If it's all well, I'll hang back and provide a bit of support? As I said, my swordplay isn't much to tell." He draws his sling and prepares to fire.

"Perhaps our quiet friend is right, maybe this campsite was left by our competition?" Jakob mutters a few words and steps into the room behind Ulfgar. Casting Cantrip - Detect Magic

He begins helping Ulfgar search the site and the room.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

As he searches, he picks a up a moderately sized stone. Muttering again the stone burst into light. He blows out his lantern and places the stone inside.

Casting Cantrip - Light. Forgot it lasts a day now. If you're ok with it GMParty, I like to keep it in the hooded lantern so I can dim/douse it if needed.

Jakob draws his sword and holds his lantern in his off hand, "Agreed, it's likely the passages meet up again further on." He moves cautiously down the western hall and to the next intersection, watching for traps or ambushes. "Any sign of his tracks here?"

Jakob eyes the pressure plate, "Let's follow our friend's footprints. Seems he wasn't able to disarm the trap either." He motions to the western passage where the trail continues.

"I'm no coward, but I will freely admit my skill with this sword won't be inspiring many tales. With that, who would like to go first? I can follow second or third. I have some minor healing abilities as well."
