"mmmmm. MMMMM!" Jak awakes screaming against his sewn mouth with a creature from nightmares looming over him appearing to be formed from hundreds of writhing tendrils. He looks around at the strange setting and pats down his weapons' belt where he finds his trusty shortsword. He rolls off the table to his feet while yanking the blade from its sheath. In desperation, he stabs.

Move to stand from prone. Use object to draw sword.

Montreal. School has been out since last Friday for my two kids. I stayed home then and today working on the phone all day (except now). Will return to the office when my wife doesn't have to be at her office.

Just moved my inlaws into a residence this weekend. We weren't done on Sunday, but the province closed the facility not letting in any visitors, so I had to bring stuff of theirs to my garage. Had difficulties getting the keys to the house out to give to the new owners of their house. Wild times.

We missed the shopping craziness, so we're down to our last 3 full rolls of toilet paper.

I've been cursed by their previous employer and think there's a cure in town." He waves his black hand. "It's not contagious, because they haven't been infected."

"I'm sorry to be trespassing. We didn't see any signs." He sounds genuinely sorry.

With everyone awake and ready, Jak would feel better if they weren't outnumbered five to one. Going with it's-not-the-strangest-idea that he's thought of, Jak tries to talk to the wolves, "Um. Hello there, wolves. We're just passing through on our way to town. An evil bastard of yours attacked us a couple nights back. His black pelt is over there. With the numbers that you have, you'll probably kill us, but we'll probably take a bunch of you with us. Any way that we can avoid this fight?"

Jak is not a Charisma rogue: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Or Help Maltheus say the same thing with a better modifier

He flinches and hisses rubbing his arm that he pulls away from a ray of sunshine that pierces the forest canopy. "It burns. Jawn, why does the sunlight burn me? Is it the dagger, or spider poison?"

Jak's eyes rolled back, as he slumped to the ground. Beaten by an ogre, cursed by something evil, and poisoned by a huge spider. You think this guy is not going to make it through life with the luck that he has.

His eyes fluttered, and his body twitched as he saw the planescape burning again. The wind howled in his ears and suffocated him in the stink of ash and brimstone. He felt primal fear from the certain that Orcus had conquered the world. And, he could not move to do anything.

Jak cleans the blood from his blades before sheathing them. He pays particular attention to any difference between how the metal of both blades react to the blood.

"That would be awesome!" Jak replies with joy. He still felt like a shepherd boy who had a learned blades, locks and traps from Dax. Now, he might learn magic! Just imagine!

Jak pays close attention to Jawn's magical investigation of the dagger. He also tests the reaction of the dagger to his black hand and his regular hand with a touch of fingers. Does it burn like frozen metal, in one hand versus the other? Can he still wield the magic dagger?

"Jawn, can anyone learn magic? Or, do you have to be special? I'd really like to learn anything that you can teach me." The padawan asks hopefully starting an apprenticeship into the magical arts.

Jak has an excellent memory for maps and geography and can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you. He covers his nose and mouth with his left elbow as he advances toward Cole to avoid the breathing the smell and black cloud of smoke or dust. When he gets to the body, he touches the magic dagger to Cole's chest, ready to jump back if he explodes.
