Pathfinder Open Reference - Masterwork Tools, for Android, has been invaluable at my Pathfinder Society games. Saves me a lot of trouble when I need to find a rule quickly, plus you can set up blocks of bookmarks (I have all my character's key stuff under one heading). Also, the upcoming "Codename: Morningstar" sounds pretty promising. It's going to be for D&D 5E, but there are some hints it may be rules-customizable, so Pathfinder use might be possible.
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/news/adventurersleague Basically, they ripped off Pathfinder Society and combined it with their Encounters program. As someone who plays Society now and is looking forward to 5E, this sounds cool. But I wouldn't blame Paizo if this made them cranky...
Just FYI for anyone buying a PDF of a boxed set from dndclassics.com - they've demonstrated a habit of treating them poorly. So far:
So, buyer beware. I hope they clean up their act, but it's not encouraging so far.
The Doctor Sourcebooks are worth it for non-game reading as well, yes. They go into great detail about not only the era's stories, but also their style (to assist in running campaigns along those lines). Plus, they're beautifully designed. I definitely recommend them for fans. Note, while the First and Second sourcebooks are in PDF and print, the Third is only in PDF at this time. (We're supposed to get sourcebooks for the first eleven eventually, but it could be a while before they finish.)
My earliest clear Doctor Who memory is stumbling across "The Five Doctors" on PBS in (I'm 99% sure) 1987... and asking my parents why Moe was on Doctor Who! (It was actually Patrick Troughton, and not one of the Three Stooges, of course.) I don't remember if I continued watching it at that time, but I do know "The Five Doctors" was a favorite to rewatch by late 1987... Logically, I must have been aware of the show before that, but not likely much earlier. Presumably my actual first Doctor was Tom Baker, though I can't actually recall that. But it pretty much had to be him, or maybe Jon Pertwee. Sylvester McCoy also holds a special place in my heart, as I got to watch his serials when they were "new" (on PBS in the States, that is).

I like the idea of a M&M SRD (though, like DM_aka_Dudemeister above, I only play under 2E rules), but I feel obliged to point out that while Green Ronin appears to recognize that people can make a M&M SRD, they would really appreciate it if people wouldn't do that.

The Games Workshop in Arundel Mills closed down, unfortunately... I'm afraid there aren't too many game stores in the Laurel area (north of Greenbelt, along Route 1); just Hobby Works in the Laurel Shopping Center (http://www.hobbyworks.com), which didn't have much RPG stuff the last time I was there, and the Family Game Store in Savage Mill (http://www.familygamestore.net). I like the FGS, but I will admit it might be a bit troublesome to visit from Greenbelt...
Way back in the 1990s, TSR's web presence was TSR Online, available through AOL. And they had areas where you could download game material created by fans. However, when TSR moved to the web, they didn't keep any of that material. So, I was curious... is there any sort of central repository of that material out there? I can't seem to find one through Google, just a few individual files re-posted by their creators...
I can name a few third-party M&M 1E products (because I own them):
Those are all printed books. Might be more out there, including in PDF. I agree, though, seems like most of the third-party stuff was for 2E. |
