So, I really liked this race when I saw it and want to homebrew a PC version, but I don't quite understand what the "Modernized Arms" means. Quote: Modernized Arms (Ex) Any izalguun equipment that would normally have the archaic weapon property loses this property when wielded by an izalguun. Does it mean that: a) Archaic weapons built by Izalguun lack that property? b) All archaic weapons suddenly lose that property when an Izalguun picks them up? c) Archaic weapons built by Izalguun lack that property when wielded by them but gain it when used by others? I'm leaning towards a) or c) because it's an Ex ability, so I can't imagine it miraculously remove the Archaic property of a PCs club when an Izalguun picks it up.
The text in the CRB says that Triune didn't give the Vesk the secret of drift travel, while the entry on the Azlanti says that they already had an interstellar empire by the time of first contact. Does the tens that Triune gave someone as bad if not worse than the Vesk drift tech or does it mean tha the Azlanti havs their own separate FTL tech?
You can tie a martial's hands to prevent them from using their weapons but you could lock a caster a Houdini cage and they can still cast. Is constantly damaging them they only way to prevent a caster from casting? Do prisons put casters in shock collars? Can law enforcement even contain casters at all?
I know we could convert Pathfinder monsters using the GM section's guidelines, but not everyone who picks up Starfinder will know Pathfinder, or know that there is an SRD they can find the monsters on. And even then, creating humanoid NPCs and spellcasters works vastly differently in Starfinder, so converting monsters can only get you so far. EDIT: I say october because that's when Alien Archive drops.
And are these other planes "alternate universes" like in modern works of fiction? Worldscape mentions how there are multiple versions of Earth out there or something, but only one Golarion (presumably because there's only one Rovagug), so is this an indication of that? Or is none of the lore introduced in the comics valid?

I keep wondering if Light and Gravity/Entropy will be the only things Solarians can channel, or if in the future they'll get more option. I have this image in my head of a Solarian that channels ionizing radiation instead of light, instead of a miniature star it creates a nuclear blast! What other cool "elements" do you think a Solarian could end up being given the future? Time perhaps? Force, even?
And what happens if I take the Elemental Whispers Wild Talent but then gain a familiar from elsewhere? I know levels in familiar granting classes always stack (Except for Familiar Bond which states otherwise explicitly), but I don't know if a multiclass kineticist needs to summon their familiar every time and keep concentrating on it, or if they only need to concentrate on it for her Kineticist levels to apply to her effective wizard level, or if they don't need to concentrate on it at all.
So say I have a bard with Eldritch Heritage (Draconic) and she later becomes a Dragon Disciple. Do her Dragon Disciple levels count twice for determining her Claws power like how Animal Ally allows your druid levels to count twice for Animal Companion? Does she instead have two instances of the Claw power now? One at Character Level - 2 and one at Dragon Disciple level? Or does she only keep the stronger of the two claw powers? And what does this mean for Improved and Greater Eldritch Heritage? Can she even still take them? Since now she technically has the Sorcerer bloodline from levels in Dragon Disciple, and you can't take Eldritch Heritage feats for bloodlines you already have.
In The Great Beyond Formians are mentioned as living in the lawful neutral plane of Axis, and as forming from the souls of mortals like outsiders tend to do. But when we finally got more information on Formians in People of The Stars and Bestiary 4, we were told they're aliens who, having fully settled every inch of their home planet, started fervently colonizing other worlds using massive asteroid ships. So are there two completely different "species" with the same name or has there simply been a retcon? I'm mostly asking because there have been such retcons in the past and this seems like one that's gone under the radar, as the wiki still talks about the Formians of Axis in its Axis article but mentions nothing of Axis in its Formians article.
Progress Levels. The galaxy is bound to be full of societies operating at different levels of development, not just at the same level as Absalom station, so it would make sense to include stats for "lower tech" equipment, such as opioid painkillers, fungal antibiotics, AM radios, and fossil fuels. And I'm using modern technologies as examples because without knowing how advanced Absalom tech is, I can't give examples of sci-fi tech that would be more primitive than theirs, and not just because I'm hoping Starfinder will support Urban Fantasy. <w>
Now, some might be thinking "Draconic celestials? What are you blabbering on about?". Well, I'm talking about of a certain set of variant physical features for Aasimar that are available for NPCs according to Blood of Angels. These are: Arms: scaled forearms, Head: draconic features, Legs: metallic scaled shins, Skin: metallic scales, Wings: metallic dragon. Which indicates that there are some Good Outsiders out there that are at the very least covered in metallic scales, dragon winged, and dragon headed. We also know that Apsu has several metallic dragon consorts, which sets a precedence for Apsu having dragon "demigods" running around, which in turn could have children of their own, which further down the line would lead to draconic aasimar. I also don't see Apsu's petitioners being rewarded with humanoid forms, especially his dragon ones, so there might also be a specific type of Archon specific to him that has the shape and perhaps abilities of a dragon, just as the Dapsara is an angel specific to Shelyn. We won't know for certain who these draconic progenitors for those rare Aasimar with scales for skin or draconic horns until they're revealed to us, but I find the idea fascinating and am already planning my draconic bloodline aasimar bard.
So I wanna run Legacy of Fire for the firs time and one of my friends wants to play a re-imagining of her Genie character from Champions. After some deliberation we decided to make her a Janni Bard with no Outsider HD but with the other Janni features intact. This made me wonder if the Janni's Plane Shift ability might break the flow later on in the story as I know that Genies and The City of Brass play a major role. Just need to know if I should allow her to keep the ability or not, that's all.
So it just dawned on me that the mechanics through which plasma weaponry would harm targets would be through thermal transfer, I.E. fire damage, since at the end of the day it's just very very very hot matter. So I'm wondering why the Plasmathrower and the Plasma Grenades from the Technology Guide deal only half of their damage as fire and the other half as electric damage.
So, I intend on running a Fallout game and I was looking to try out the Anachronistic Adventurers classes, since they seem to be highly praised. Thing is I'd hate to have my players buy almost $30 worth of PDFs and then risk the campaign going nowhere (some of our campaigns tend to not so much end as just stop), thus wasting their money. So I'm wondering, is the content in the books Open Game Content? If I bought the PDFs for myself could I share the files with my players and/or copy the classes onto a website? Or should I just stick to either converting the d20 modern classes (which would be very easy) or the basic Pathfinder classes? Modern Path seems to needlessly complicated for me, fyi, so I don't wanna use that. Or maybe the SRD website is just too hard to make sense of, dunno.
So, are the planes universal? Is the inner sphere a that planar traveler from Golarion visits the same than an alien visits? What about the outer sphere? If I looked long enough in the astral plane would I encounter planar traveler from Droffa? Does a human from Earth get judged by Pharasma? Does a Mi-Go? The Osirion Pantheon gets around somewhat, so I imagine there's some overlap, but then why don't we see mention of alien petitioners or humans from other worlds traveling the planes? |
