Will my firing be a problem if there are fighters between us and the three ships?

Is there a modifier for Translation since experienced explorers may sometimes simple pass the test?

Ioneyse maintains watch over all the departments, making sure that everyone is carrying out the proper preparations and that nothing is being neglected. She is known for her short-temper so everyone is sure to give her the answers that she wants to hear.

Nothing at this time.

Ioneyse takes a cup of recaf and drinks it plain as she ponders the possible outcomes of locating the ship.

"Well, we certainly can't assume that no one else has gotten wind of this somehow. We shall have to be prepared for everything from rival treasure hunting ship to a violent, mutiny crew mutated by their time in the warp. Always wise to plan for everything so we will be surprised by nothing."

"Aye Lord Captain. We will be ready."

Ioneyse on board and proud to serve.

First Officer Ioneyse Patronius reporting in for duty.

Void Mistress is complete and ready to go.

Born on Boros Prime, a fortress world located close to the Eye of Terror. Her family were heretics that she, herself, told the authorities about them. Unfortunately, this meant she ended up living on the streets to survive. Not a place most people make it on a Fortress World.
Joined the Boros Defense Fleet but was eventually offered a position on the Heart of the Tempest as a Gunner by then Lord-Captain Khaista Durrani.
Served on the Tempest when the Dark Voyage happened and survived with the RT. Now serves as the First Officer and treats any insubordination harshly. She also seems a bit more religious than some other characters and is quick to respond to any evidence of heresy.

Noticed that I picked the same Fortress World as the Arch Militant. If you want to have run into each other there at some previous time, just let me know.

Interested in this.

Given what's already been submitted, I think I'll write up a Void Master(Mistress) serving as the Master Gunner.

Rolls:

Fate: 1d10 ⇒ 8

2d10 + 25 ⇒ (10, 9) + 25 = 44
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (7, 1) + 25 = 33
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (9, 10) + 25 = 44
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (1, 6) + 25 = 32
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (8, 2) + 25 = 35
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (10, 2) + 25 = 37
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (1, 6) + 25 = 32
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (10, 10) + 25 = 45
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (7, 6) + 25 = 38

And replace one of the 32's.
2d10 + 25 ⇒ (3, 10) + 25 = 38

Well, my first choice of Unique class was Bounty Hunter and that was discouraged. There's already a Gladiator, Spies do not seem like they would make valid range characters. Corbie is also doubtful for range and Scholar is of no interest too me. So recycled classes with a different archtype is the only I see left.

On that list, my preferred ranged class is Ranger. So I will go with that then.

Was trying to figure out if a ranged corbie was possible. If not, I'll just go back to looking at what other classes may both be good for ranged and aren't already taken. It gets harder to balance those two things as more classes become spoken for.

With so many posts, I actually missed the witch one and thought I had picked out something that hadn't been taken yet. I am set on my race, but not my class.

Is Corbie available?

After thinking, I'd like to change my character to a Mazanian Witch. She had to flee her home village since her brand of magic was not welcomed there and she was the scapegoat of several weather related disasters that had plagued her home region.

I will take another look at the available classes.

Dotting for interest. Thinking of a Mazanian Bounty Hunter.

Yep, no change of mind here. Still going with our earlier discussion.

Ioneyse gives a little head nod of acknowledgement when Iago makes mention of having her look over the current set of contracts. With any luck we could perhaps make a few adjustments to it that are more favorable to us.

Totally going for Dante. Getting rid of general right before the fight would be disastrous.

If you have been away since Wednesday, then that must have been one heck of a birthday weekend.

In regards to the game, yep, said all I can for now. I just have no idea how to delay giving an answer when one has been demanded on a deadline.

Ioneyse blinks a couple time in brief confusion. "I will do what I can Lord-Captain. Though Dante is demanding an answer today, are you wanting me to tell him that we are backing him and that we just want him to try to wait until after the fighting is done? That we will do noting to either help or hinder him? Or do you wish me to give him a flat out no?"

"We absolutely have to tell him something one way or the other today since it was the deadline he gave us. If we attempt to stall he may turn on us as well as the governor."

"Excuse me Lord-Captain. I would like to clarify on the point of our contract since I am sure that none of us want to get a reputation for turning on our contractees."

Ioneyes pulls out her dataslate and quickly looks up her copy of the contract on it.

"It seems that our contract is with the government of this planet. Basically the planet is our client, not the individual who happens to be governor. Also, out contract mentions nothing about protecting the current government from civil uprisings or military coups."

"Also, it would be hard to convince Dante that it is in his best interest to wait when it quite clearly isn't? Dante is not a stupid man and can see that quite clearly and likely any attempt from us to convince him otherwise would only turn him against us and make any future dealings with him quite difficult if not outright impossible."

"What we really need to do is to see this for the business opportunity that it is. We would do well to go ahead and get in well with Dante and make sure that we are the only ones that he wants to do any trading with. If I read the situation right, he will either be the government or this city will be in ruins and worthless to us. I think that the best chance this planet has is if Dante becomes governor."

Ioneyes sits back in her chair and sighs, wondering which choice will be better in the long run for them.

"I have not had a chance to speak to either of the men at length yet, so I cannot speak with any personal knowledge about their skills. It is my opinion though that opposing Dante will be detrimental to the battle to come. Soldiers rarely do well when a popular is arrested by the government. You usually hear shouts about trumped up charges and threats of rebellion regardless of the fact the man is really guilty."

"So, though going with Dante is my choice for the obvious reasons for the short term, I can't say with such certainty which man will be the better governor in the long term. Dante does have the benefit of not being attached to any other rogue traders, which is more than the current Governor can say."

Is there any way to use Commerce to affect the battle? Like beefing up the supply lines and move needed equipment to all the right places? If so, that would be my action. I'd be helping the Offense stay supplied if allowed.

Ioneyse looks over the maps that the Master at Arms is looking at and wonders about the how well stocked the city's supply house are with food.

"From a numbers standpoint, it may not be more efficient to enforce an evacuation. One can assume that if the farm folk are vehement enough in their refusal to leave, that they will become violent when faced with this. There will most likely be casualties on both sides before the Orks even land. Some people are always willing to die before leaving their land. I am sure that it goes without saying that this will likely be a public relations nightmare. There will be talk far and wide of the rogue traders who roughed up a bunch of farmers to get themselves worked up for a battle with some Orks. Even though that is certainly not our intent, others may see it that way."

"Ioneyse Patronius, sir. I am here on behalf of Navis Yosarni. I have under his training for quite some time now and he feels that I am ready to begin taking on more important responsibilities."

Quote:
Becoming dissatisfied with the state of things in the defense council and senior officers squabbling, Navis Yosarni is increasingly fading into the shadows and reporting to Silas Tyr directly as a spymaster; leaving his most talented protegee suddenly dealing with the First Officer and stepping up as High Factotum.

I am fine with solution. Should I begin posting in the Gameplay thread yet?

Mostly done now. Just need to add the personal information.

Her role will be High Factorum and her default action will be Disinformation. I will not be affecting starting PF and/or ship points in any way.

Wounds: 1d5 + 1 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 6 = 11

Fate: 1d10 ⇒ 10 fate = 4

Insanity: 2d10 + 1d5 ⇒ (9, 5) + (4) = 18

corruption = 1

Re-doing my character now, will post back as soon as I figure out if I will affect starting PF and/or ship points in any way.

I think I will try the Seneschal role.

If it's ok I will just use the stats I already rolled and just rework this character sheet up.

I'm fine with being promoted up from the ranks in the ship. :)

Ok, I think these are the last rolls I still need to finish up my character sheet.

Insanity: 2d5 + 3d10 ⇒ (1, 2) + (6, 10, 2) = 21

Wounds: 1d5 ⇒ 5

Fate: 1d10 ⇒ 1

Void Master is made up and behind my alias now if you would like to check it over.

Just still need need to do a background on her and check my math for the rolls.

Here is one of the new recruits. Planning on doing a Void Master pilot. Here are my stat rolls so I can see what I will be working with:

1: 2d10 ⇒ (3, 10) = 13
2: 2d10 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
3: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 9) = 19
4: 2d10 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7
5: 2d10 ⇒ (9, 4) = 13
6: 2d10 ⇒ (2, 8) = 10
7: 2d10 ⇒ (5, 8) = 13
8: 2d10 ⇒ (8, 7) = 15
9: 2d10 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
reroll: 2d10 ⇒ (10, 10) = 20
