The stone Astarte is the first of the fallen idols to make a reappearance, lurching awkwardly, scuffed and defaced by the fall.

The team makes quick work of the lone, almost broken stone golem.

Fell for 20d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4, 5, 4, 3, 4, 6, 2, 5, 5, 5, 4, 6, 6, 1, 4, 4, 2, 5) = 86 falling damage, leaving it with 21 hp remaining...

The cracked and chipped but still mostly intact idol of Astarte is still animate, and is drawn toward the sounds of battle on the other side of the stairs...

Gradually, the Champions carefully orchestrate the luring of the idol of Astarte near to the edge of the pit, where they then bull rush as a team, toppling the animated statue into the yawning black gulf of the mineshaft! It plummets hundreds of feet to the unseen bottom, where it shatters, broken by the tremendous force of its mighty fall!

*K-KRAAAASSSHHH!!!*

Slam at Johann 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (19) + 22 = 41 for 2d8 + 9 ⇒ (8, 2) + 9 = 19 bludgeoning damage! Slam at Johann 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (2) + 22 = 24 misses!

*WHOMP!!*...*WHIFF!!*

The first blow cuffs Cobra Johann in the hood, but the agile serpent evades the second stone fist...

Alphonse arrests the momentum of Foereaper and brings it around in an even wider arc on the backswing of his first missed attack, swinging "the pendulum" into the construct.

*WHACK!!...*WHACK!!*

The idol barely seems to notice the paladin's off-balanced blows...

Not a crit...

Ihrin scratches the idol's stone thigh with her corrosive rapier...

ROUND 3:

Slam at Johann 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (1) + 22 = 23 misses... Again 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (8) + 22 = 30 for 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (6, 9) + 9 = 24 bludgeoning damage...

*WHIFF!!*...*WHOMP!!*...

From his flanking position opposite Johann, the Fox unleashes a flurry of blows using both fists and a spinning kick.

I'll use spin kick on the 2nd attack of these 3, and that just means it targets flat-footed AC (unless the foe has uncanny dodge), but is otherwise a normal unarmed strike.

[dice=1st damage]1d8+9

[dice=2nd attack (spin kick vs flat-footed)]1d20+16+2
[dice=2nd damage]1d8+9+2d6

[dice=3rd attack]1d20+11+2

Fox's jab and spinning kick connect solidly, rocking the idol back on its heels! His follow up reverse punch doesn't seem to affect the idol...

Foereaper is an Adamantine blade.

The idol sidesteps the paladin's stroke...

ROUND 2:

Slam at Cobra Johann 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (17) + 22 = 39 strikes for 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 = 15 bludgeoning damage! Slam at Cobra Johann 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26 misses by an inch!

Again, the idol of Astarte pounds Cobra Johann twice, but only its first blow connects this time...

Cobra Johann strikes at the stone golem twice, but the stony armor turns his fangs aside...

Slam at Johann 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (17) + 22 = 39 deals 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (7, 8) + 9 = 24 bludgeoning! Slam at Johann 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (6) + 22 = 28 deals 2d10 + 9 ⇒ (3, 8) + 9 = 20 bludgeoning!

The idol of Astarte brutally pummels Snake Johann with its stone fists!

The first two strikes bounce harmlessly off the stone...

The third strike chips a crack in the idol's hip!

Johann decides to engage before the monstrous thing has strong positioning... aka...before it can rain down AoOs for approaching it because hopefully it is flat-footed. Bite is magic, silver, & cold iron.

He activates his minor forms, becoming more snakelike and bearlike (swift action), and like lightning, he shoots forward 50 feet in a charge and strikes his fangs against the stone!

Struck by the giant snake Johann, the idol of Astarte wobbles momentarily under the force of the blow, but it regains its footing...

Lumbers up to the party, closing to about 60 ft away... Roll initiative!

Alphonse is quite confused by Johann's appearance.

Actually...has Alphonse even ever met Johann?

"Surely you could allow others to enter?" Alphonse asks, frowning.

"Just because the man owned these mines does not mean they should be barred to all entrants for all time. Eventually someone will need to come along and stake a new claim."

[dice=Diplomacy]1d20+18

Damn! Nice Diplomacy check, Alphonse... Too bad niceties are lost on this construct...

The golem seems oblivious to the paladin's entreaty... It continues to swat ineefectually at Lord Perpireen (who remains just out of reach) and stomp closer to the others...

Lord Perpireen McGibel wrote:

This is King Solomon's Mines. You're not King Solomon, so move along!

*ker-THUMP*...*ker-THUMP*...*ker-THUMP*...

It becomes hard not to hear the ponderous steps of the stone likeness of Astarte, her face stern and imperious...

*THUD!*...*THUD!*...*THUD!*...

Moves to 180 feet away...

*THUD*...*THUD*...*THUD*...

Unseen by the expedition at three hundred paces, the idol of Astarte moves closer to the adventurers, to about 240 feet away...

DC 24 Perception to notice...

Roll a DC 30 Perception to notice that the idol of Astarte, about 300 feet away to the west, has animated and is now walking toward you with ponderous steps that shake the ground... It began a good three hundred feet away, and seems to close about a fifth of the distance in six seconds...
