I just reread the rules on that and I see I got it wrong. My result should have been 7, but that's still a partial success.

Himnon's voice trails off as he casts a spell under his breath to cause a dragon's roar to be heard from the very spot of the device.

Seeing the flame becoming too powerful, Himnon quickly diverts the fire away from Sora so as not to burn her, leaving her unscathed but with one of her legs in the ice. Seeing that the whole reason Sora got frozen was to avoid taking damage, I think that this is a reasonable decision.

I'm still interested, as long as the game is going on. I've been keeping up-to-date with the thread, but I hadn't really seen an opportunity to say anything in the game, so I was planning on just waiting until the scene changed; but I see that others may have been waiting on my waiting, which, I suppose, explains why there hasn't been much progress, so I regret my part in that.

Answer for what orcs are good at:

Orcs have extremely acute senses. They can tell someone's presence without seeing him, through sound, smell, or a "second sense" that gives them a feeling someone is present. Whatever the case, it's very difficult to surprise an orc.

Himnon nears the statue, keeping enough distance so as not to disturb the orc, and examines it for a power source, and tries to figure out how it could be disabled.

Himnon looks up at the lightning bolt that followed Sora's request. "I wonder how she does that. Maybe I could replicate it myself sometime...." "She" being Auhra but ambiguously referring either to Sora or Auhra.

He muses about how one would go about calling lightning with his new wand in his hand, suddenly interested in deities for once.

Charging it with a lightning bolt with tags area, forceful, and debilitating.

Reno saved me from falling into a chasm

Drazhu was certainly a notable enemy, and maybe the ritual Reno had to do was something important about the world. As of yet, I don't think there was a treasure.

In any case, I think I'm leveling up so I'll take, with approval, this move, and add 1 to INT:

Battle Mage
Add the following tags to the Black Magic list: Close, Area (-2 damage), Messy (+1d4 damage), Piercing 2. In addition, selecting a Range tag for your Black Magic does not count as one of your two tag choices.

Himnon stands back silently. He doesn't want to go back on Sora's (and his own) promise, though he is ready to fight if need be, and the Tunnel Keep was one of the least trustworthy people he ever knew.

I actually was imagining myself watching as I waited for everyone to get through the door, so there would be no wasted time. But I do think that deathly curiosity about magic is something that might be interesting about the character, and it matches the alignment (discover something about a magical mystery).

"I would be happy to come along. It would be..." Himnon stops himself before he says "lots of fun." "It would be a good idea." He thinks Sora's motives are a little different than his own, but he can work with that.

He walks a bit to the left, just enough to get an idea of any possible dangers in that direction.

At Nathan's suggestion, Himnon becomes excited. "Yes! He'll love it!"

But when Cuddles shakes his head, Himnon becomes disappointed and tries to speak to the armor's heart. "Haven't you ever wanted to be a dragon?" Alas, not everyone understands the benefits of magic.
