I have not had internet access for about 2 day. I will read and probably make a post tonight.
Somewhat put off by the constant conversation with the sky Heshlem begins to doubt Dim.
sense motive:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
"They always know where we are so now it is easier for them to kill us."
Heshlem thinks to himself "I have to get him one of those magical headbands."
"I agree. It seems everyone is on to us."
Yeah, more Muugru!!
"We will leave him with the others. We already have his things I am suggesting we get out of town as soon as possible."
Once we get to a decent spot I might need a reminder of what those were. Playing in 4 PbP's is distracting. Don't worry I am not quitting. I just need to make notes so I know what is going on. I like this Inquisitor.
Sorry to hear about the wife. I hope you can work that out. As for the game there is a fine line between giving people time to RP and moving to the next event. It seems that most of the PbP's start off with good interaction, but the GM's take their time moving from one point to the next. Somewhere between us getting the invite to choose one masterwork item and now, it seems like the game stalled. I think everyone has rolled their stealth checks so unless someone has something to add I guess we get to see the results of that.
"I am sorry to see you go friend. I hope you do well wherever you go."
It was fun RP'ing with you. Maybe we can meet in another game sometime.
Str check: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

However I agree that enough eyes have seen us and should someones eyes not see these men come out it could spell trouble." I don't know how many of them there are compared to us there are enough.
"Is anyone here good at disguising people? Maybe we can walk out pretending to be them?"
"My name is Heshlem. I am a paladin of Cayden Cailen."
He makes sure to emphasize the word paladin.
Muugru wrote: Eyeing the dwarf and the young human woman suspiciously, Muugru moves beside Heshlem, preparing to strike either of them if they make any unexpected sudden moves.
Muugru looks down at the unconscious bandit leader, and looks to Heshlem. "What we do with him?"
As people talk of burning or blowing up the corpses, "Thems have any good loot on them?". Muugru glances towards the corpses, anxious to examine them, however he remains by Heshlem's side.
Map looks better. Now I know where I can charge to, and where I can go to, to get flank bonus :)
"Good question, I think we should check before we blow them up. You check some and I will check the rest."
perception check for any hidden items:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Erefine wrote: You had decided that Zan should carry it before he disappeared from the game, so for the moment nobody has it.
Sungalu realizing what Gwen said replies:
** spoiler omitted **
Tandor still pacing replies to both Heshlem and Gwen:
"You see Kalu be a fickle town to be sure. If the town watch come across a dead body and have reason to believe you be the one who done it...well they enact martial law and kill you on the spot. The king here be an odd fellow that is for sure. Now as for burning them, we would have to get them outside the city and hope to God the watch don't spot us with a cart 'o dead people."
The town guard is judge, jury, and executioner, what a scary thought. I will also hazard a guess that with such power many of them live outside what their normal salaries pay them. I guess it is time to be going now, not just because of recent events, but if self-defense is illegal this is not the place for me.
"They had to sneak in here from somewhere. Why not dump them outside, most likely in an alley? You(Tandor) have no blood on your hands or weapons to use, and there is no way one man can take on so many people. We plan to be out of town. I would suggest scrubbing whatever blood is here off the floor though, before it sets in."
If there is not an alley then ...uh....
"Why would they arrest you because you had bandits invade your place?"
He then focuses on the young lady. "Could you say that again in common or orc?"
I am not going for any PRC's. I might go fighter, but I am not sure. If I do I will let you know.

Muugru wrote: Erefine wrote: 2. I rather like the idea of group initiatives, maybe I will rotate whose initiative bonus in the group I will use that way your improved initiative is still of use. The only problem is that those pc's which chose Improved Initiative are going to have the usefullness of that feat greatly lessened. Improved Initiative is a situational bonus (only useful in combat) and accordingly probably shouldn't be diminished any further.
Best to just group everyone togther based on where their initiatives fall in respect to the enemies.
Trying to group initiative based on ranged and melee is not useful since not all melee characters will stick to ranged combat and vice-versa.
I know you may have your own ideas on what might work (and feel free to go ahead with them), but what I listed what is proven to work. (Not trying to be bossy... just helpful :)
@ Erefine:
I think rolling for us individually is better
Just do the code and post it on a notepad document so you don't have to keep retyping it<--suggestion.
As an example: all you have to do is remove the quotation marks.
Muugru init:["dice"]1d20+4[/dice]
Heshlem init:["dice"]1d20+4[/dice]
Kyras init:["dice"]1d20+7[/dice]
Riddick init:["dice"]1d20[/dice]
Riddick does not have his listed, but I did not see his init on his character sheet. From what I am seeing it is a 0. He has no dex mod, and nothing to improve it.
I don't mind the speed of combat since as long as everyone post at least once within a 24 hour period it should not be an issue.
Since the bandit leader is knocked out I will ask them to surrender(not using any social skills), as a free action.
"Gentlemen there is no need for the rest of you to die. Put down your weapons and you may live."

1.XP or plot driven does not matter to me. Combat does take a long time in PbP, and when people are not taking their actions it slows everything down. I would suggest everyone pick another player to run their character if they don't post an action within X amount of time. I suggest that X be 24 hours.
2. I would rather go off of my own init. I don't mind you rolling for me though. If we do group init, and my individual init does not matter I would like to change my trait out since I took it to boost my init. If I misunderstood then oops. :)
3. I rather adjust to the combat on my turn then a preordained idea. I think my first idea would handle stagnant posters. Post or deal with the consequences of someone posting for you.
5. I like this one.
Also it is now round 2.
Heshlem:
2. I rather like the idea of group initiatives, maybe I will rotate whose initiative bonus in the group I will use that way your improved initiative is still of use.
3. What I am saying is not that you can't change your tactics mid-battle, but rather that a well thought out battle plan will give you bonuses as a great general always gives an advantage to his soldiers. That is not to say that soldiers can't think for themselves as they see the battle unfold. If that makes any sense.
1. I think that in combat if I have not heard from someone in 24 hours I will NPC them for that round. As for when to post. I think that posting your actions for the round at any time and I will adjust them as your turn comes up (i.e.When Heshlem and Muugru fought the wolves back in town one died before the others turn so instead of their attack going on the dead wolf you attacked the other wolf.) Standard Action
Attack Roll: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Damage Roll: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Move Action: If that drops the person I hit then I position myself to attack the next closest opponent possible.
PS:That attack roll is a 20, not a 22.

2. Once the first round of combat has been completed, you should post "Round 2", and its usually best to repost the groups at this point (Start of Round 2. Group 1: Ricdak, Heslem, Muugru; Group 2 Evil Badies; Group 3 Kyras.) This especially helps in case someone from Group 1 delays until group 3.
3. Battlefield needs to be clearly defined as do movements. You have taken a large step towards that by using the Google spreadsheet as a map. Characters need to post which map coordinates they are moving to (I move 20' to D8). Also, you need to update the map between rounds. This means removing the dead and showing where characters have moved. To help define walls on the Google spreadsheet, I would also recommend using the "text background" option. Click here for a sample....
These two help immensely. We did them in a PvP/PbP game. I think putting our icons on the map would be a big help, but I don't know how to do it. Giving everyone access to the map to move their character is also a good idea.

Once everyone goes can you make a post stating that a new round is beginning? With people posting far apart it helps in PbP to keep track of things.
Sorry about the absence. I should be posting normally from now on
edit:I see not much has happened since my last post. I don't feel so bad now.
Standard Action:Cast Bless
Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.
Swift Action:Activate Judgement(Justice)
+1 sacred bonus to my attack rolls.
Move Action:
Move to within 10 feet of the leader if possible without provoking an AoO. If that is not possible move to withing 15 feet of the closest bad guy
As of now I have a +9 to hit with the Great Axe.
Heshlem sees one of the bandits shoot Muugru, but notices Muugru charges the bandit leader instead.
Free Action:
Speaking to the bandit leader: "Your buddy just got you into a lot of trouble."
Erefine wrote: Been a long time since I npc'd a caster as Heshlem can tell you I am a bit dodgey on the rules of their spells so if someone knows is Burning Hands a touch attack or a spell that they just have a DC for half damage? The spell is a 15 ft cone with a reflex save for half. You may need a map for this battle if you are using cone spells and AoE's.
Initiative Roll:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
In a commanding voice: "I do not wish to harm you. It would be wise of you to lay your weapons down and surrender immediately. This is your first and last warning. Well maybe we will let one of you live to get information, most likely just the one in charge if this turns into a fight."
I don't know how clear that was but he was basically saying if there is no fight they all get to live. If there is a fight most likely only the leader will be spared.
edit:How many of them are there not counting the leader or are you waiting to see how many us of there are that went down with Sungalu?
Tension is good and besides who can resist a paladin's charm?

Kyras' eyes settle on a bowcase leaning in the corner. Looking it over, he admires the craftmanship. Pulling it out of the case he realizes how right it feels in his grasp, and as he tests the pull, a grin shows up on his face. "This one will do nicely, I think."
HP: 1d10
Ugh, not like I intend to enter the fray right? :)
Edit: Character updated.
Did we lose anyone beside Frizzen?
HP roll: 1d8 ⇒ 2

I took a MW Great Axe. My attack bonus went up by one.
"Muugru you might not want to scare the locals. You might end up in jail. I don't know if I have the gold to bribe an official to release you, and if something happens I will need you in a fight. As big as you are I sure the people are not thinking about trying you. Bigger cities often mean better looking women and better ale. As soon as we get some information I will try to see what I can about helping find a woman and some alcohol."
diplomacy check to gather information on best quality ale the city has:
Taking 10 if possible on the diplomacy check. If taking 10 is not allowed then 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
I guess I should just ask Sungalu where I can find the best ale. I am also hoping this place proves my theory correct that bigger is better.
"Sungalu where is the best ale? Muugru needs something to help him relax."
Erefine wrote: From the goblins and saving Sungalu each party member gets 500 xp for the goblins and another 100xp each for saving Sungalu. What XP track are we on?
Heshlem spends a good portion of his time sharpening his weapon before he rest.
Are we resting until everyone is at full hp?
Muugru wrote: Could we please do a role call to see who is still here daily? I know Heshlem and Kyras are. Haven't heard from Grey for 2 days and Zan and Friz seem to be gone? I assumed he was already friendly toward us.
Speaking to Sungalu , "Would you be able to lead us to the Dragon's army? I would also like to know what turned the tide of battle against the Dragon's army if you happen to know about that."
We got a list of names? If so I better add that to the loot list also. I will respond in character if someone confirms this.

Who is holding the party loot? I kind of get the feeling its Heshlem, but it doesn't matter to me. Muugru would not be the best candidate as there is too big of a chance he might trade the loot bag for a pair of whores.
I never did see the goblin list. I might have overlooked the post. I think one of the others had the box amulet and other things in it. I can go back and hunt the post down to see if I can make a consolidated list of what was not split up.
edit: I see you already had it consolidated. The medalion that we need to show to someone later needs to be added though.

Even though Heshlem is injured badly he feels he can survive and decides to see if he can do anything for the injured man.
He ask "Do any of you have the ability to heal people"
Heal Check:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
An aid another might make sure we make the heal check to help the injured man, if he can be save.
edit:Heshlem thanks Muugru, and informs him that he will check the goblins if nobody does it before he determines the status of the original victim.
Erefine wrote: For those interested you are all really strong role players and I am enjoying your character's interactions, I will be starting up a kingmaker campaign and any / all of you would be welcome to join.
yes Friz that means your character submission has been approved.

Don't forget all of you are blessed.
I forgot to mention it earlier but I have 40 pounds of trail rations I would have split between the group if anyone had wanted any
"I figure if anyone was here and they wanted the man on the ground dead then it would already be so. In case I am wrong I am going to boost our ability and will to fight just to be safe."
Heshlem goes into a prayer and everyone within 50 feet of me feels more courageous and skilled.
PRD=Bless fills your allies with courage. Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects.
He then moves forward at a normal pace unless someone notices something before he gets to the camp.
PS:If I am more than 30 seconds away from the camp I wait until I am closer since bless will only last one minute.
"I will go forth with you Grey. Seeing a paladin often puts people at ease".
Heshlem appears to be in deep thought for a moment because he can't decide whether to ask Muugru to come or stay.
He thinks to himself, "The big half-orc might give one pause if they decide to attack, but he may also say something that makes things worse." In the end he decides to let things fall as they will.
Perception check: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Heshlem is at a loss for that mistranslation, but figures he will try again later when he finds the right words. He thinks to himself, "Maybe I should not have added that little joke at the end."
Heshlem chuckles a little at the "boss" comment then replies "I am not the boss here. I have simply given input at times and people tend to listen when I speak. If anyone chose to disagree with them I would have to convince them with reason, but I have no right to tell anyone what to do." He then leans into Muugru and whispers with a playful grin "..however if they don't listen to me and they fail it is their own fault."
Heshlem tells Muugru,"Sure you can get a ring. We will probably save the potions for whoever gets hurt instead of giving them to one person."
Heshlem nods his head in agreement and says-"I say we check the box the next time we stop."

"What the matter with you all. Some one we not know give us paper that say we do what him want or the world is dead. Him not even offer to give us money. Obvious trick! World too big to be in jeper... danger. Bah!"
Muugru's complaint, although annoying to some does gives others pause to think.
Perhaps at least one of the more scholarly types has heard stories or legends of a great dragon that maintains balance in the world, and quickly relays it.
After being told briefly of the tale about the dragon, Muugru will try to contemplate whether this 'quest' is someone using that tale as a trick, or whether it could be real. Recognizing that Muugru is unlikley capable of grasping something as epic as playing a critical role in saving the world, someone, possibly Heshlem, in an attempt to persuade Muugru. He will suggest that if they can help the dragon that they might be offered some riches from the dragon's treasure.
Muugru has heard the stories of the vast treasures hoarded by dragons. If there is any possible way this could be a true quest, then Muugru could be very rich!
"Okay, Muugru go. But me eyes will always be open in case this be trick!"
Muugru quickly changes back to his old traveling clothes, grabs his gear and weapons and mounts a horse.
DM: Do we have time to grab our gear and weapons, as I don't think any of us would have brought them to the ball?
Wanting to take Muugru's mind off of treasure->"Muugru if the quest is real then you will be rich. Actually since adventures that survive tend to bet wealthy we may get rich anyway."
"Jeopardy means danger." says Heshlem in a whisper back to Muugru.
He then reads the note to everyone before they take off to where ever they note tells them to go.
