Hi Wilhim.
I am dropping by for the sake of clarity - wanted to let you know that indeed Helgarr left because of your character behavior.
I would rather have no debate or discussion about it, since I believe I am in my right to join or leave a game if I so decide - in this particular case, playing with your character was taking the fun away from the game for me. That is why I left.
It was my decision, because of how I was feeling about the game, so I don't think you need to explain yourself. Further to this, it is not my place to ask for any sort of such explanation nor apology, nor do I wish any.
I did not turn it into a public debate when I left (instead offering my explanations to the others over PM) because I don't think I have the right to point out to you whatever it is that bothers me in how you play your characters - you play them in whatever way it pleases you, as it is your right. I play this game for fun, and when it stopped being fun for me, I left. That is all.
I would have not even dropped by now if I didn't see that you required clarification on this - I hope this serves to validate what you wanted to confirm. Please let us not take this any further - Helgarr is not even part of the game anymore. It is up to you guys to decide where you take the game from here.
Best,
Helgarr

Hey guys, unfortunately I am bowing out of the game - it is not an easy decision after such a long time, but it had to be done.
Good gaming all!
Cheers.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Nothing really. Forget about it.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
You want to take things there Wilhim?
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"Stop" - Helgarr grabs Wilhim before he gets away - "You are giving us away, and we do not know what we will be encountering inside" - she explains - "You need to pause and ponder the situation for a second - if you intend to scout, that is one thing. If not, please do not rush ahead" - the barbarian woman adds - "It is not tactically sound. Also you are endangering yourself, and us. Makes sense?" - and she stands there waiting for the gnome to acknowledge her words.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Having also re-equipped herself, Helgarr seems surprised at Wilhim's actions - "So much for taking a look around carefully I guess..." - she adds, moving to break down the boarded window.
Wilhim... We're just going to call every single enemy for miles around on us... Couldn't you have tried looking for another way to get inside without so much noise?
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"Do not take any unnecessary risks" - Helgarr warns.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
I think they can all just hoist Bacon up there, after he is securely tied? Assuming he doesn't squirm much :D
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
From the top of the cliff, and in spite of the manor looming closeby, Helgarr enjoys the wind on her face, and the sight.
Then she makes sure the rope is properly tied, and also offers her strength to hold it as the others climb.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"I will go first" - Helgarr informs after testing the rope, and begins removing her armor - "Will make sure it is secured, and will assist so the others can climb"
Climb is +9. Now with the rope can I take 10 until I get up top Fox?
Furnok, what is the plan for Bacon? :P
"See you soon Captain Baradin" - the barbarian bids him farewell for now.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr goes to tug hard on the rope just sent up by Wilhim, trying to make sure it is well tied.
Fox, does it seem like there might be another way to go around to get up there? Multiple Climb checks are a recipe for disaster, even if they are not DC25.

Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
"I would rather you did not use poison Wilhim, even against our foes" - Helgarr grunts - "And even if it did not matter to me, I don't have any" - she shrugs.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"I don't have any poison" - Helgarr looks surprised - "Only the contract which was being used for the smuggling... Why would you want the poison anyway?"
I think only the documentation was in the loot, no actual poison Wilhim.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"I'm not sure Wilhim... I would like to track down the ones smuggling poison into Sandpoint" - Helgarr replies - "I cannot think of a reason not to try and put a stop to it"
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
DM TreasureFox wrote: The contract's only named person is Captain Huntress Steerwright of the Dragon's Bastard. She was to serve as the middleman (middlewoman?) between two unnamed traders. She was to pick up crates containing poisons disguised as alchemical ingredients from a port in Magnimar, and transport them to Sandpoint. Upon arriving at Sandpoint, someone would greet her with a passcode, and she would deliver the goods to them. Her reward was not money, but a guarantee that her ships would always be repaired and outfitted for free and 'they' would always be a buyer for ships she captured. This deal would expire after two years. Helgarr peruses the documentation carefully, then turns to the Captain - "Thank you - it is a deal then. We will do our best to meet you for the return trip" - she nods.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Yeah, fine with the leather for Aggah :)
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
I think Helgarr will grab the contract, so she can look into who is smuggling poison into Sandpoint later on (unless someone else wants it). The gear unfortunately is of no use to her :P
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"I have never been to Magnimar" - Helgarr replies with the ale in hand - "But will be as soon as I have a chance"
DM TreasureFox wrote: "So, there are a few things that need to get done. We need to get you to that manor, replace our sails with the spares, unload some or all of these prisoners in Sandpoint, tow the captured vessel to Magnimar, and sort out the loot. How soon do you need to get to the manor?" "We should most likely be there as soon as possible" - the barbarian nods, reminded of their mission, and the seriousness of it - "Why do you ask?"
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr seemed about ready to send every remaining opponent sailor overboard with a snarl, or cut them down where they stand for the savagery of the attack...
But the barbarian calms down at her companion's and the captain's words, and cheers with a smile at his compliments.
DM TreasureFox wrote: Then he turns to the party. "I made a fool's decision today trying to fight two fully crewed pirate ships at once, and were it not for you, it might be that none on this ship would be alive. You may be landlubbers, and a motley crew of landlubbers at that, but you fight like you have no equal. We are in your debt." "That ale you just ordered the men to bring out should be more than enough payment" - the woman smiles in a good mood after their victory.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
I believe Helgarr's DR also applies to the splash damage, which means Helgarr takes 5 damage - she also has cold resustance 1, reducing the total to 4? Meaning she has taken a total of 8 damage so far.
"Wabbit, get to the other side - me and Wilhim can handle this!" - Helgarr urges her companion, then steps to the side, swinging at the one chasing the gnome- "Stand close Wilhim, they will have to get past me to get you!"
Falchion on Red one attacking Wilhim: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Damage if it hits: 2d4 + 17 ⇒ (3, 3) + 17 = 23
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
.... Please no more bombs in these tight quarters Wilhim :P
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Huh... We're taking splash damage? I thought Wilhim could exclude us from the damage?
Helgarr swings again at the sailor fighting her (yellow/orange).
Falchion: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Damage if it hits: 2d4 + 17 ⇒ (3, 1) + 17 = 21
Falchion CRIT?: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Additional damage if it crits: 2d4 + 17 ⇒ (2, 1) + 17 = 20

Too much snot in the head. :) Cleo is casting prayer. 40foot radius, You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a -1 penalty on such rolls Snot in head or not, you're the one who keeps us going Cleo! ;)
Hah! I love the 'minis' icons Fox :D
Helgarr grunts away at the cutlass wound - "You scurvy dogs have made a big mistake!" - she roars - "Now you die here!"
Don't think I can put away the bardiche, draw the falchion and attack right? So assuming not, I just drop the bardiche, draw the falchion and attack yellow (or is it orange?)
"Come then dogs!" - the barbarian roars, swinging hard - "Come to me!"
Falchion: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Damage if it hits: 2d4 + 17 ⇒ (1, 1) + 17 = 19
She currently has DR 4/8 so she takes 4 points of damage from that initial attack.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Fox, please keep in mind Helgarr has reach ok? That's AoOs if someone tries to get past me ;)
Also just so I get this straight, my 26 points of damage did not drop the pirate, is that it?
"Stand side by side! They shall break against us!" - the barbarian woman roars, swinging at the pirate again.
Bardiche attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 17 ⇒ (7) + 17 = 24

Wabbit the Paladin of Chaldira wrote: Wabbit joins Helgarr and Furnok So when's the fun gonna start "Should be any time now Wabbit..." - Helgarr replies with a glint in her eyes, then she seems to get momentarily distracted as Wilhim passes them by - "What? Who?"
Yeah, trying to stay behind cover also.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr hangs tight, and waits with a snarl - "Take cover from the arrows, behind the rail or something!" - the barbarian instructs.
Same action as before.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr puts the bow away and draws her bardiche, getting ready to repel the first boarders.
If anyone boards, Helgarr will go Controlled Rage (Free Action), and attack using Stalwart - puts her DR at 4/8. Stats in the spoiler above are for when she is raging.
Readied Bardiche attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Damage if it hits: 1d10 + 17 ⇒ (9) + 17 = 26
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr smiles as Cleo's healing power washes over all of them - "Miracle girl" - she whispers.
Helgarr is at max hp with that channel ;)
Then the barbarian presses on the attack on the Spearfish's crew.
Longbow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 1 + 1 = 28
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11
So, if I am correct, the current effects are Bless from Cleo, and one similar to Inspire Courage, correct Fox?
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr continues mowing down the enemy sailors as best as she can.
Still targeting the sailors in the Spearfish.
Longbow: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 1 - 2 = 27
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 = 6
Is that a CRIT?: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 8 + 1 - 2 = 12
Additional damage if it is: 2d8 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (3, 3) + 4 + 2 = 12
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
So... Furnok just shoved me aside, and he is now manning the scorpion, is that it?
I double checked, and in fact I have the bow assigned to me on the Loot List, just didn't have it on my character sheet :P
With a growl at Furnok, Helgarr goes for the longbow, and aims a shot at a sailor from 'The Spearfish'
Longbow: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 8 - 2 = 15
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr presses on with a growl, shooting at enemy sailors.
Scorpion: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 2 = 12
Damage if it hits: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
I could swear I had a Composite Longbow, but I guess I was wrong - would be more useful than the Scorpion I think :P
Still applying the -2 for range.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Yep I did... Thanks Wilhim for spotting that, and sorry Cleo!
Fox, +1 to my attack roll above please? :D
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Gotcha!
Helgarr is no expert seaman, so she simply shoots at an adversary sailor.
Scorpion: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 7 - 2 = 21
Damage if it hits: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
So I assume my readied shot did not occur? Or did it miss?
Since the closest ship is at 245' does this mean I shoot at -6?
Also, what is the crew morale, mechanically? Did I miss it written down somewhere? :D
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
GZ on the new job! No worries, just take whatever time is needed to organize yourself ;)
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Helgarr goes to the second scorpion, and readies to fire as soon as the Spearfish is in range - "I can see both ships have rams!" - she shouts a warning to the captain - "And the closest one is using oars to boost speed!"
Scorpion Readied Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Damage if it hits: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
When and if it looks like the ships will engage, she will leave the scorpion and get a boarding pike.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr grabs her gear and gets ready.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Never one to give up, and humble in nature, Helgarr sets to the tasks for which her help is required with full commitment - even if she does not excel, she tries her best.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
I believe it is this one Brelin.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr greets Captain Baradin and any others of the Argonaut crew she comes across - "Let me know if I can assist with anything" - she offers, much like the others - "I am not a sailor, but I can learn"
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
DM TreasureFox wrote: Smart armour choice! Hehe. I'll put the Full Plate back on when we are on dried land :D
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"Indeed" - Helgarr agrees with Furnok - "And I'm sure we will manage the trip back Cleo - I have also asked around in town, and have a general idea of where Sandpoint is located in relation to the mansion. When are we to depart?"
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
"He probably went for the Bottled Solutions, or the Pillbug's Pantry " - Helgarr informs Cleo, the barbarian still sitting at the table of the Rusty Dragon - "Any luck in finding the best way for us to reach the mansion?"
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Guys, just to let you all know the next couple days will be busy with New Year and traveling, so I will probably resume posting only on the 3rd January ;)
Helgarr is ready to go though - just a note to say during boat travel she will wear her lighter armor - MWK Chain Shirt.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Helgarr chuckles and shakes her head as Wilhim tries to convince Ameiko to use her kitchen.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Once she has gathered the information she can, Helgarr will return to The Rusty Dragon to wait for the others, and ponder the history of violence surrounding the place they are about to visit.
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Fair enough. Though researching in a Library would not shock Helgarr, I guess I'll go with the 'Diplomacy to gather information' option ;)
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
|| Raging (controlled): 9/12
Knowledge (Local) - does it help finding the river and/or house? Can I take 10 or 20?: 20 + 10 = 30

Helgarr meets her companions downstairs for breakfast - her new armor, even though bulky, fitting her perfectly. Her hunger is the same though, and she eats as eagerly as usual - "Today we travel friends?" - she asks between bites.
