Thank you for any feedback...

Cloak of the Pestilent Trespasser
Aura moderate necromancy; CL 7th
Slot shoulders; Price 24,300 gp; Weight 1 lb.
Description
This tattered and stained cloak looks more like a pile of rags then a garment. The wearer may activate the cloak which emanates a disease that causes all living creatures (except the wearer) in a 15-foot-radius spread to become nauseated (Fort DC 17) for 10 minutes. Any hostile action against a nauseated creature allows them a second save (Fort DC 15) to lessen their condition to sickened for the remainder of the duration.
While activated the wearer can choose one nauseated target per round to designate as a carrier. If the carrier fails a second save (Fort DC 17) then the carrier becomes virulent and can spread a weaker strain (Fort DC 15) to any uninfected living creature in 10-foot-radius. Those that make the first save are not susceptible to the carrier.
The cloak can be activated twice a day. Each activation lasts for five rounds. The wearer may choose to deactivate the cloak earlier as a standard action.
Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, contagion, ghoul touch; Cost 12,150 gp

Synergistic Extract of Haunts
Aura moderate necromancy; CL 7
Slot none Price 12,500 gp Weight 1/2 lbs.
Description
This dark purple liquid emanates cold from within its crystal vial. The skull shaped stopper is an eyedropper that can be used to apply the extract up to 6 times a day. Effects have 10 minute durations. The user may have only one effect active at a time.
Eyes – The user’s eyes cloud over with cataracts, rendering him blind for the duration. He can detect the strength (Caster Level) and location of haunts within 100 ft. Also, he is never surprised by a haunt.
Hands – The user’s hands wither and become incorporeal, preventing him from holding anything for the duration. He can “grapple” with a haunt, stopping the manifestation and suspending any spell effect the haunt has active. The haunt can resist each round by saving against a DC 17 using its Caster Level as a modifier. If the user possesses the ability to channel positive energy he may do so beyond the surprise round to try and neutralize the haunt. Only one of these uses is permitted per round.
Tongue – The user’s tongue shrivels and turns black, preventing him from speaking normally for the duration. He communicates with haunts by strange utterances. Using Diplomacy (haunts do not acknowledge Bluff or Intimidate attempts) the user can influence and learn about a haunt. Haunts see him as Indifferent for starting attitude. Use the haunt’s Caster Level in place of Charisma modifier. Information that can be learned includes the haunt’s area, effect, destruction, reset and trigger.
Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, detect undead, halt undead, speak with undead, ; must be created on the site of a destroyed haunt; Cost 6,250 gp

Thanks for any comments!

Hi ronars,

I would appreciate some feedback, if you can.

Destrachan’s Lament
Aura moderate abjuration, illusion and necromancy; CL 9th
Slot neck; Price 28,000 gp; Weight 2 lb.
Description
Destrachan’s Lament is a 3 inch circular mithril music box of bizarre design. Stylized destrachans clutch the music box in their mouths, while their tails turn into the chain. The inner workings are clockwork gears of platinum, gold and bronze that whir and click causing the music box to vibrate. The vibrations grant the wearer a +3 circumstance bonus against sonic-based effects. On the back the names of the three tunes can be found written in Undercommon. The sounds produced by Destrachan’s Lament are raucous and thundering, straining most definitions of music.

The wearer can command Destrachan’s Lament to play a tune once per day by speaking the name.

Discordant Reverberation – A screeching blast of music echoes in a 20 foot radius spread centered within 100 feet of the wearer. All creatures in the area of effect must succeed on a DC 18 Will save to avoid being sickened for 1d6+1 rounds. Creatures using hearing-based blindsense or echolocation who fail are also stunned for 1 round due to the overwhelming noise.

Imperceptible Drone – A shrill, infrasonic repeating chord that renders the wearer undetectable to hearing-based blindsense and echolocation per invisibility, greater for 10 minutes a day, which the wearer can divide into 1 minute increments.

Aegis March – A sonorous and clattering march grants sonic resistance 20 for 10 minutes to the wearer and up to 6 additional companions. All companions must remain within 30 feet to retain the resistance. The Aegis March is loud enough to be heard 150 feet away.

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, bestow curse, communal resist energy, greater invisibility, resistance; Perform (percussion instrument) 7 ranks; Cost 14,000 gp

I have used "Glittering Generalities" when appropriate... I first heard it from my high school Journalism teacher. She used it to describe articles that had no specifics but lots of glossy ideas.

I lol when I read it in Neil's review. Mrs. Gast would either laugh or be appauled.

I'd like to add to this discussion. I changed the name of my item because I thought it was too obscure...

How many know the word Orchestrina?

I can tell you from personal experience that if you ask ten friends (gamers, a doctor, a art historian, etc.) and they ALL have to ask you what the word means then you probably shouldn't use it. And I didn't. But it was a difficult choice.

Maybe after I'm offically out, I'll post the word here and see how many know it....

I'm very sorry Neil.

I'd like to sign-up for the word file as well...

I'm curious about your artificier-cleric?

In Ultimate Combat there are vehicle rules for air ships, but are there any game mechanics on how a PC could theoretically build one?

I'm playing a crafting wizard and thought the idea of an airship would be sweet but I wanted to see if there was any existing rule that has been printed to-date.

I'm curious, about the 'crafting wizard' what build did you use for this?

Thanks!

The Blooded Stone of Brotherhood
Aura moderate conjuration; CL 12
Slot - ; Price 115,500 gp; Weight 3lb.

Description
“We bleed as one. We fight as one. We live as one!” – is the oath that seeps into the minds of all who use the stone. The stone is white marble with dark red veins running throughout. It is the size of a large fist; one side is jagged while the other appears to be smooth and worked, suggesting that it was at one time part of a larger object. The white marble of the stone turns blood red when in use.

To gain the benefits of the stone a character must cut themselves on the rock taking 1 point of Con damage allowing them to use the stone’s powers for a day. Restoring the Con damage immediately severs the link to the stone. A minimum of 2 characters need to be bonded to the stone for anyone to gain the benefits of the stone with a limit of 5 characters.

Characters attacking the same foe gain a +1 to damage rolls.

Characters automatically become stable if hit points drop below 0 (but not if the damage is enough to kill the user). Characters are immune to hit point damage caused by bleeding effects.

Any healing applied to a user in excess of the character’s hit point maximum is stored in the stone up to 50 HP. Once a round a character can use the stored hit points to heal his wounds as a free action. At the end of every round the stored hit points decay at a rate of -1 HP. Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, magic weapon, heal; Cost 57,750 gp

Love the title 'Customer Service Enforcer'.

I placed my order and short-listed the titles. I'll probably have to do it once more for some of the stuff that's more then 2 months away. The only bad thing is I'mnot sure if we'll get the flip-mats in... it looks like they are orderable thru B&N.com but at the store it said to give the customer 'publisher info' - which is our lingo for get it yourself.

Heathensson, unless you shop at the Bloomington,IL B&N you'll need to order them yourself. I've been to several B&Ns and they're gaming material varies greatly from pretty good at my store to nothing at several(*)!!!!

* I'm convinced that it's because the booksellers are scared of goblins!

I work part-time for Barnes & Noble in the cafe and I also run a monthly gmaing event at the store. In the past it been hard to get the Paizo products, other then Dungeon & Dragon, but I'm very happy to say that I can order not only the GameMastery Modules, but several other products as well!!! Preorderable (word?) are several modules, several Pathfinders, some flip-mats and even some of the item card packs! And I nearly forgot the Planet Stories books as well...

I'll be placing my order tomorrow when I work and that'll mean my copy plus 2 or 3 more copies of each title. Can't wait for the product to hit the shelves! :)

This whole exchange is just going to support those people who feel role-playing gamers 'loose' themselves in their games & characters - then poor Mike/Amai will just wonder through the sewers like Tom Hanks in MAzes & Monsters!

Amai, I did say 'yippe'. Apoclypti are good - for adventures to have something to do. It seems obvious to me that Amai is destined to be present at that final battle.... and survive it!

(hope that saves my bacon, fake chicks seem to be even more senstive then real ones!)

I think that may well be the first time I've ever 'asked' for something, fully expecting nothing and got what I asked for... As surely as Amai's continued survival - another sigh of apoclypse. yippe!

Quotes, quotes my kingdom for quotes....

I will continue the idea that 'even the possibility of this' really made my Friday afternoon. I've got a bunch of Ptolus minis (all of 'em once over & few dupes) but you can never have to many cultists or chaos techs!!

I'm moving in 2 weeks so I am going to wait till I'm in the new place, one less thing to pack and move is very nice.

How about a prophecy from old Jekkajak that 'the amber scale that is both True and not shall prevent the destruction of the Truescale when amongst the tribe come 4 of the soft skins seeking the crown.'

Then have him be a really smart kobold who is gathering followers for a rebellion. Unlike Merlokrep he's not insane and has a plan and sees the adventures as a means to his end.

Vic Wertz wrote:

Unfortunately, we're not sure we'll have the ability to predict the exact date, what with these books being printed out of the country.

Would it help if we sent an e-mail giving you a couple of days notice before we charge your card?

-Vic.
.

To be honest I'm just not sure. So what your saying is Pathfinder could come out one month in the 2nd week of the month and the following month come out in the 4th week...?

I know it doesn't start till August but will the Pathfinder series ship on the same date (ie. the 16th of every month) each month and will we then all be charged on the same day each month? This may seem silly but I get paid twice a month and set date for the billing really helps, I'm just worried that it'll fall right before a payday. And those last few days between paydays are always tight...

I'd sign up for a subscription...

I'll add my voice to the cry!

Very cool of you guys! Thanks!

Also, Wolfgang has stated that he's not even looking at the old adventure, he doesn't want it to influence the new project. I'd compare Empire of Ghouls to the old Dungeon adventure like Old Battlestar Galactica is to the new Sci-fi channel version - a re-imagining of the concept from the ground up using today's toolbox (3.5 edition & OGL).

Not to mention the insight on the project from Wolf, Open Design #2 was my first & I found this part fascinating, and the input you, as a patron, have on the project.

Ok, I'll grant you that. I mean you'd have to call it - The Mearls @&^%$#@!ing Seminar! And someone would show up expecting a talk on unusual punctation! :P

"We chose the anti-Mearls soul-sucking pillars of doom. (Yes, there’s a story there. No, I won’t be relating it in this post.)"

That sounds like a great convention story to me. Ooo, what about a whole seminar - there could be the banned quotes and stories aboutr Mearls...

Shouldn't you be taking your afternoon nap or having milk & cookies or something... :P

On alignment detection…
Sutter: “Are you evil, Mearls?”
Mearls: “What? Me? No!”
Jason and Jacobs: “Oh come on, Mearls.”
Mearls: “Ohhhh… you mean Keldrick.”

- I don't know lots of gamers might say Mearls, himself, is evil. Not me mind you, Great and Powerful Mearls!

Also, the pants comment had me spitting soda...

Hi. Don't know what your car situation is but I run a few games in Bloomington-Normal. Send me an email at awmorri (at) ilstu.edu

I should add, I have friends who drive over from there to play now, so car pooling maybe possible.

I read these and laugh and laugh...

You guys need an 'underground' uncensored & raw podcast!!

I promise not to make a joke about your lack of bladder control if we can get that update...

(fingers crossed)

Thanks for the info Lisa!

Hi,

I have a couple of questions regarding the giant tube of plushy dice...

1. It says 'back order', any idea on when it will be available?
2. What colors are available, I really would like white numbers on black dice?

Thanks!

No Mearls again?

I can't wait for the uncensored 'too-hot for the internet' version of Jason Bulmahn DMs Eberron!! ;)

I'd buy collected Dungeon Craft book (even pdf) of Monte's articles (and others too).

13 - 1 = Staple of Eberron - Way cool Jason!

If Jason or Amber reads this I loved Secrets of Xendrik!

Hi,

Are there any Paizo seminars at GenCon next week? If yes, when?

Sorry, if this on the site and I just couldn't find it.

Aww...

I thought for sure whe I saw that Mike was the last one to post it would be another update... I'm not sure what's worse my addiction to this campaign log or my addiction to D&D minis - I defintly know which one is cheaper!

I guess I'll just buy another 2 boxes of WotDQ - come on Bahomet or Eldritch Giant, no more Barneys (I've got 5 - ugh!)

James,

I was really hoping to see some of Chuko's extended family! I mean he must have an avenging younger brother...

"Wark!" the cry of freedom!

-That and there was no Mearls-

Ah, ha. That explains it. Was he gone the time before too? I don't seem to recall any expletives being deleted out then either!

No quotes?!?

I'm reminded of the Eddie Murphy joke about horror movies and haunted houses...

"This a real nice house."

"GET OUT!"

"To bad we can't stay, baby!"
