Congrats to those that made it. I guess I'll just have to rot in here for the next thirty years.

And now the hard part starts. Good luck to our GM, I think he's gonna need it.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I think it's mostly that many GM's and players don't really think about it, or don't know about it. That said, I'm looking forward to Thursday.

Also, if you're looking for advice on a character, why not make a post to the advice forum or Pathfinder Reddit and link to this thread? You'd get the feedback without gumming up the thread. You could also request people PM you.

And, so this post isn't totally off topic, I've got Gwyn's profile updated. Let me know if I'm missing anything. If anyone has any feedback, feel free to shoot me a PM.

Wow, competition is getting really stiff. There's some really good characters.

Sorry to say, but I think I'm going to be dropping this game. I'm not into this as I had hoped I would be, and I've been thinking about it for a while. I'm sorry, and could you please mark me as inactive?

It's been fun playing with you guys, but as I said, I'm not into this like I hoped I would be, and with the time crunch coming up for me, I'd rather be honest and come clean now.

I wish you luck and hope things go great for all of you. Thank you for picking me TLGM, and I hope you have a great time with this, and that I haven't dampened your spirits.

Doin' good. Working on getting games and stuff updated.

I wonder what Mikaiela's going to think of Gwyn when she get's know her.

"Odd'n please, just... just drop it for now." Gwyn quietly pleads with her drunk friend.

Ya think? ;)

That said, Gwyn is going to be even more adamant about not killing Landis if she can help it. Just be prepared for an argument when we get to that point.

"I guess so. That's what it sounded like to me," Gwyn whispers back. Then noticing the color of Bronan's face, she asks innocently, "Why are you blushing? Did something happen before Odd'n and I got here?"

Sense Motive: 1d20 ⇒ 13

"Okay, if you say so." Gwyn says before leading Odd'n to find the others. A few minutes later, she finds Bronan.

"Looks like we've got a dilemma. Landis is probably working for someone called the Upright Man, and he may be being coerced into being a bandit to fill this man's coffers." she whispers to him in low tones.

I'm assuming Gwyn arrives after the show. If that's not the case, well, I guess I'll have to Retcon this post.

"What I heard didn't sound like it was nothing to just ignore. What happened?" Gwyn asks, something in the back of her mind ringing little warning bells.

"It wasn't a big gang, just about a dozen thieves and cutthroats." Gwyn says before Nani leaves.

Then comes the scream.

Gwyn is running to the room she saw the other woman go into before she even has a chance to think.

"Nani? Are you alright? What's wrong?" The young rogue calls out as she skids to a stop at the doorway.

Moved on the map.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

"I grew up in South Shanty, and I've been living at in the Shelynite church in Center Shanty for the past two years," Gwyn tells Nani before turning to Odd'n.

"It's a protection racket. You send a group of thugs out to extort money from people who own homes or shops on your turf. They pay up, in return, you don't smash everything they own. It's probably the same deal here, and if it is, you can bet that this Upright Man has a bunch of cutthroats ready to kill anyone who defies him."

Something dawns on her and she turns back to the ifrit woman.

"Do you know if he wiped out a gang in South Shanty two years ago?"

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

"The Upright Man?" Gwyn asks even as her mind whirs to see if the name is familiar.

I think he was also applying the +2000 GP to make it a magic weapon on top of the masterwork price.

That said, I don't like the mischievous glint in Mikaiela's eyes. It doesn't bode well for Gwyn or Odd'n.

:P

Gwyn nearly falls to the ground after Odd'n's jab. As his rant and actions become more impassioned, her shame grows more evident, as do the tears welling up.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Leading Odd'n back to Nani, she apologies again for the interruption and resumes where she left off.

"What kind of man is he, Landis I mean. One of the people in my party wanted to kill him, and his followers, and I... Well, I know that sometimes people don't turn to thievery or banditry because they wanted to. I don't want to kill anyone, even if that's my only option."

"Sorry." Gwyn says sheepishly, looking like a little girl half her age with the way she stood.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

"This is probably going to be unpleasant, Odd'n, but this is not a good time to get drunk."

Gwyn leads the larger man over to the rain barrel and dunks his head into it a couple of times.

"Better?"

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

"I think so, though he sounds drunk. Is it okay if I make sure he's not going to get himself into trouble and continue this conversation in a little bit?" Gwyn looks a little nervous as she asks this, more so because she didn't know if she could wrangle Odd'n if she had to than any fear of Nani.

Assuming she is okay with it.

Gwyn finds Odd'n around the corner, and all she could do is shaker her head as he stumbles in place.

If nothing else, the man works admirably fast.

"I wasn't hiding, but I can see you've been drinking. Come on, lets see if we can get you sobered up."

"Yes, and he's okay, as far as I can tell. He seems to have an ego bigger than Krisol itself, said something like all the ladies wish they could be with him and all the men wish they could be him. It was rather, uncomfortable," Gwyn tells Nina, her expression matching her words.

Gwyn gulps, hoping to never experience those horrors even second or third-hand.

"That is horrible." she agrees quietly.

After a few moments of silence, something else comes to the surface of her mind.

"We ran into a man who called himself Landis the Wish. He lead a band of bandits, would you know anything about that?"

"What about what Umaveti said, about ifrits killing others on a whim? Was he just being mean or is there some truth to it?" Realizing what she just asked might be construed as an accusation, Gwyn quickly adds, "I'm sorry, I should have phrased that better. I don't know much beyond what is in the city walls, and I'm trying to learn so I know if I'm make a good decision."

"Just call me Gwyn," the young rogue says with a smile. Her expression sobers almost as soon as she tells Nani that though.

"Can you tell me what you meant by wild ifrits? I didn't know there was such a thing."

Yup, so 2hp for a second level character.

Also, glad to have you Big Ben. Looking forward to meeting your character in game. :D

Gwyn simply nods in understanding. She was falling into her old self again, the one she was before coming to the church. Stay silent, stay hidden, stay alive.

Something is amiss here, but what? I wasn't aware of anything like this outside the city, but that's not saying much, now is it?

A plan forms in her head as she thinks about what was said. What she needed was information, and she didn't know who to trust, and how far she could trust them.

Before the woman could get too far, Gwyn calls out softly to her.

"Excuse me, but can you tell me what's going on here? I was lead to believe that Minoj's son was in danger. Is that not the case?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

If Umaveti is around where he can hear, she waits until she can get out of earshot.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

"So what now?" Gwyn asks Umaveti. For once in her life, she manages to keep her hands to herself. She gets the feeling that falling into certain habits would have a pretty steep penalty here.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Gwen follows Umaveti inside, something about how she moves speaks of shame and more than a little anger as she heads inside.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Personally, the idea of a 11yo Necromancer being silly is part of the reason I liked it.

That said, plot is synonomous with conflict, and dumping a borderline character (or even a full blown evil one) into a group of do-gooders, if handled with maturity, can make for some pretty good conflict.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Gwyn gathers up everything, eats and drinks to fill her rumbling belly, and helps clean up the camp site all while half-asleep, though she does glare at Umaveti occasionally.

As player, I'd like to see either of the first two, though I think Gwyn, as a character, would get along better with he second two.

In order of Preference:
1. The 11-year old Necromancer
2. The Synthesist Summoner
2. The Oracle of Bones
4. The regular Summoner.

(It's a tie between the Oracle and the Synthesist Summoner.)

Gwyn just grumbles after being woken up for her turn, but otherwise just keeps silent and vigilant.

@Garret: As long as she has a roughly equal share, she's happy.

Gwyn mumbles something about star-cream pie and rolls over before falling back to sleep after Garret hands her the share of the dragon's gold that she had earned.

Slowly, very slowly, Gwyn begins to calm down. As the adrenaline rush wears off, she cringes in pain as the beating she took finally registers.

"What did that thing do to us?" She asks, her words slurred somewhat.

Gwyn stands for a few more moments before collapsing to her knees. She curls up tightly, lying on her side and trying to protect herself from unseen assailants. She can be heard muttering, "Not again," over and over again.

Let me know if I go too overboard with this.

Gwyn once again manages to shield herself form the worst of the blast, but now the pain begins to burn through the adrenaline-fueled haze she had fallen into from the first attack. Instinct and training take over and she comes in from the other side of the dragon from Odd'n. Her blade flashes as she tries to find a weak spot.

Somehow, Gwyn manages to avoid the blast. Her mind races in panic as she draws one of her blades and moves up beside Odd'n. She swings at the lizard, hoping to either scare it off, or keep it from doing whatever it just did.

She gets that, it's just that the last fight she was in had her bleeding out on the steps of a church. That's bound to shake anyone up when there might be such a fight coming. Sorry for the monkey wrench, but hey, look at it as an opportunity for Garret to learn a little more about the rogue in his company.
