"Confound it all. This rain, it is too hard! Look about! Can anyone see anything?"

Kesten does his best to shout over the wind, rain, and lightning.

Just then, snowball sized hail begins to fall down among the party! It is almost like a god is trying to stop you from following Noober!

On a 1 or 2 of a d4, a player is hit by 2d6 hail damage! Ike remains safe in the saddlebags! Brokk'r is too far away and not caught in the hail!

sigurd: 1d4 ⇒ 12d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6
arlen: 1d4 ⇒ 22d6 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
diceros: 1d4 ⇒ 3
pygmy: 1d4 ⇒ 22d6 ⇒ (6, 6) = 12
rai: 1d4 ⇒ 22d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7

Sigurd is hit in the head by an icy chunk for 6! Alren for 2, Pyg for 12, and Rai for 7!

Should you try to follow Noober's tracks, or should you seek shelter?!? The hail is still coming!

The party springs into action. Equipment is grabbed; horses are mounted. Kesten Garess is right there with you.

"Onward friends! Let us find the traitor and bring back your magic! For Restov, and the Sword!"

He wheels his horse about and gallops off, following the tracks of Noober going west.

Everyone give me a ride check to keep up! DC10. If Ike wants to hide in a saddlebag he doesn't have to do it.

"Blast it all. We have a man AWOL. Private Noober has disappeared! Well... I can see the tracks of his horse headed south and west. But why did he leave? This is unauthorized! I'll see him back in manacles!"

"Let's see... Reports have him a big, ugly man. A bushman... " Kesten goes on to describe the very man you found who was killed by his own trap and a little help from a faerie dragon.

There is a book error here; they never mention that guy's name in the text but there is no other person that it could be. Hence I forgot about him until recently when I went back to look at your quests.

With a little back and forth, you both come to an agreement that you had indeed see Falgrim Sneeg's body. Though you didn't technically kill him yourself, Kesten offers you two masterwork weapons- the party can decide.

Kesten Garess approaches Brokk'r about mid-day. "Sir dwarf, a moment of your time. No one answered earlier when I asked if you all had come across the mercenary known as Falgrim Sneeg. Perhaps if you killed him quickly you wouldn't have learned his name. He was a bit of brute; a criminal in Restov hence my charge to track him down."

"Any sign of Falgrim Sneeg? He was a mercenary, but always had a penchant for hunting? Have you run across a nasty hunter?"

Kesten Garess approaches Sigurd. Tall and handsome and strong, Sigurd gives off the appearance of the party's leader. Not for me to decide, nor do you need to decide at this point, but that is the impression he makes.

"Sir. Bandit activity has been significantly reduced as of late. What did you do out there? The Swordlords of Restov have taken note, and have sent this with a messenger, and their regards."

He hands over a large sack with 400 gold. (Reduce bandit activity Quest fulfilled!)

"Sir, however, there have been developments. "The Stag Lord" name has been spread about in recent weeks. Although from my post here at Oleg's it seems that the Stag Lord is confined to the southern part of the Greenbelt, the Swordlords do not take kindly to a bandit styling himself a "Lord". They want him removed and their own authority returned to this whole region. I have been authorized to tell you that the Swordlords want the Stag Lord, captured, or simply dead. Either one. In return, they will give you significant financial award and produce a charter that will allow you lot..." ...gesturing at the whole party... "....to colonize the Greenbelt with their authority. This is quite an honor, sir. If you do end the Stag Lord, I hope you don't forget those of us here who have assisted you."

Kesten whispers to Arlen, "You don't want a squire, do you? Take Noober along with you? He could be a great asset. I mean, look at his enthusiasm."

"Ahem. It is certainly the case that I did not come to this fort merely for the nice scenery. A few months back, I was traveling with a group on the way to Restov, and one of the members of said group was a man named Falgrim Sneeg. He robbed us one night and disappeared south. Without a tracker with us, we lost his tracks. Last we saw, he was headed south though, and I think he disappeared into the Greenbelt. You find him for me, and I'll make it worth your while. Can't get out and look myself, since I'm stuck inside here. "

New sidequest added to Roll20!

"Sergeant, Mr. Leveton."

Kesten gives the group a look over and nods his head in greeting.

"My orders are to protect this trading post. So here I shall sit, while you lot get rich off the land."

He looks enviously at the rack of antlers that you trade over to Oleg.

Kesten Garess seems vaguely familiar to you. Anyone trained in it, or Sigurd, can attempt a Knowledge Nobility
